My legs are Fried!!

I have a treadmill and rarely use it. The other day I did a slow paced walk on an incline and WOW did it fry my legs. Of course this is a good thing!!! I didn't really expect to be as sore as I was-really worked the posterier leg you know the calves, hams and glutes. Probably the place where I need it the most. I love shaking things up a bit. Think I will add this in once or twice a week and see what results I get.

That sounds great, Catherine!! I can't stand being on a treadmill (or any other repetitious piece of cardio equipment for that matter), but I am so upset with myself and my progress that I said I'm going to start making myself do it! Let me know how it goes!

I know what you mean. I used my treadmill when it was new and then got bored with it. Mine's in front of my TV which helps some if I can find anything interesting on. My favorite things to watch are exercise related infomercials LOL!! They somehow inspire me to keep going!!!

Why not watch a Cathe tape? I watch Boot Camp Allbutcore premixwhile riding my indoor bike. When Cathe does cardio, I do a hard interval, then aerobic level during the legs, then recover during the upper body. It makes a nice bike ride. Sometimes, I have watched Imax or Imax2 and done the same thing, and Gin Miller's Intense Moves. Otherwise I could never stand the bike. Too boring. And it makes too much noise to hear a movie or a TV show.

I had a treadmill and loved it. I ran for several miles a day on an incline. I had a wireless headset and would record shows that I liked to see or listen to music and the time flew by. I just wore out the silly treadmill. Would love to get another one. Maybe someday. I would buy a warranty though.

The treadmill and running for that matter are a really great compliment to Cathe strength and cardio.

I have been using Cathe for nearly 10 years, and have always thrown in a little running here and there. This year, I got more serious about running and I attribute the running to helping me lose the body fat and finally let my muscle definition show through. I can actually see some of the payoff from all of my ab work.

Now that the weather isn't so nice, I have been stuck on the treadmill and I am starting to like it more and more. I have mine in front of the TV. There isn't much on at 4:30 a.m, but infomercials. I too get a kick out of the fitness infomercials and some of the workout programs on ESPN. They can be entertaining. I used to watch Cathe workouts while on the mill, but I have found that if I try to watch her cardio workouts, I have trouble with teh beat of the music and my cadence. I am so used to stepping with the beat, that if the beat doesn't match my pace, I end up stumbling (not pretty on an automatic treadmill)!

Cathe workouts have been a great compliment to running as well. I hate interval workouts on the track, so I would sub the Imax's instead of doing track repeats when I was race training. I think this was pretty effective.

Best of luck with running. Give your body time to adjust!
