My kitty seems to have a UTI. Any natural solutions?

Thank you all for the great links and feedback! I am so grateful for this site and all of the information provided by kind people. The great thing is that no matter what the subject matter is, not just the original poster gains knowledge but others as well. Goodness rules!!!! :)

Thank you again!

Ask if your vet has CareCredit. It is a credit card that is interest free for 6 months to a year. After that they do charge a high interest rate and back date it. I used this when my guys had some very expensive dental work done--by a vet dentist! Who knew they even existed. Anyway I found that paying each month helped me to avoid putting it on a credit card that would be charging interest from the first day.
But please get your kitty to the vet for a proper diagnosis and treatment. You can change her diet after you find out what the problem is. I really hate to think of her suffering and being uncomfortable.

Thanks so much for that very useful piece of information! I will definitely check into that. I also appreciate your concern. I will not let my kitty suffer so please know that I am in the process of finding the appropriate solution.

BAM, I agree with Phyllis. The only way to find out what is going on is to have a vet examine and run diagnostic tests.

I couldn't get a urine sample from my boxer and my vet gave him amoxicillin based on symptoms and his past history of no urinary tract problems, but a few days later we did get a urine culture, x-rays to check for crystals, and strips to test for blood in the urine.
He didn't have crystals, but there was blood in his urine (strips didn't pick up bacteria but that is not uncommon) and the urnine culture came back 4 days later with high concentrations of e-coli (infection). It took 3 rounds of antibiotics with urinary tract support supplements to clear up the infection.

Please don't waste time finding a solution. Get your kitty to the Vet Immediately! Delaying it could make things much harder/death for your kitty. If it were me I'd have had the kitty in there showing first signs/symptoms. Every hour you delay will mean a harder recovery for this precious animal. Please let us know what happens.
