My Kind of :: CHEETAHS :: Wednesday

Evening ladies!

Back with those promised personals....

Karen - Oh, I'm so, so sorry that your mom has to wait for the shock wave therapy:(. Sending major {{{{HUGS}}}} her way! I can't believe that the docs are being that nonchalant about this. Yeah, sure, it's not threatening her health at the moment, but, holy crap, the pain is unreal:eek::confused:! Your mom is truly an amazing woman. Oh, I'm glad that you're taking them some of that chili...I feel honored. My DSO just tried it tonight and said it went right to the top of his favorites list:D. I'm enjoying a bowl right now and I think it may be even better as leftovers. Although, a word of warning...it gets *VERY* thick after it goes in the fridge. You could try adding more stock to the original recipe or, what I did tonight, just add some water when you nuke it. Enjoy!

Christine - Uh oh, it sounds like we may end up having a chili throwdown in the very near future;)! I would LOVE to try your world famous chicken chili!! Eggplant stew??? Oh, do share! Gee, we are quite the group of foodies, huh? Have to admit that I thought about the giant gator in Lake Placid when you mentioned your workout this morning:p. I think being chased by an angry gator would have been a far easier workout than the one you did tackle:eek:...wowzas! LOL about your kitty growing up...that would be my cat (the one in my avatar).

Carole - Ah, thanks for the clarification re "PLB"...you're still nuts, though:p. I was sooo going to take your suggestion for a ME or MM premix but, see post above^^^^, ain't happening:mad:. Alrighty, where's that rubber DH mallet???? Were you finally able to get into the nutrition program?

Linda - Glad to hear that Patty had to tell YOU to slowdown for HER:cool:...very cool! Oooh, I had never heard of that movie but will definitely be looking for it. Great run and "flashback" workout:).

Jackie - Ah, okay, thanks for the decipher. Too bad it wasn't quite what you were looking for. I think I probably would have subbed in some bench press and flys, too. Would it work as an add-on in the future? I'm feeling a bit better, thanks for asking. Still am not sure what's knocking me out...the infection or the drugs.

Judy - Great to hear that you're enjoying that yoga class. Wow, I bet that would be *very* tough after 4DS legs! So, how were those splits;)? I would imagine Tempeh chunks would work great. Like I said to Karen above^^^...it does get very thick when you go to reheat. I think I'll add another cup of stock to the original recipe next time.

Posh - Glad to hear that Smokey continues to improve...YAY:D! Had to LOL about him going out for a good roll...happy horse! It sounds like you're rarin' to go, the weather looks mahvelous, and I'll bet you will have a fabulous race!!!! I wish you the best of luck!

Wendy - Still sending good knee {{{VIBES}}} your way lady! I hope that little episode during your class was just a blip. Awwww, I wish your cat growing up wasn't such a, well, CAT:confused:. I was told that the vet techs had them out around the office last night and this morning cuz they just can't get enough of 'em:D. I think Jari's annoying-ness (is that even a word?) is why I've been hesitant to check it out...sounds like that's not an issue with R&C.

Gonna close for now. Gotta go check out hotels for Harrisburg for Sun-Tues. Nightie night Cheetahville!

Good evening everyone!

Judy - Sounds like that yoga class is really helping with the hips.

Linda - Oh, yeah, remember the leg warmers and headbands back in the day? St. Jude is Dec. 6 with a start time of 8:00. I've been looking at the info on pace runners wondering if I'd like to be in a pace group. UML is a good workout for a recovery week, IMO. I just wanted a good weight workout today.

Posh - You sound all chipper and happy today. Guess going to Chicago does that to you. :D Glad Smokey is continuing to improve. Smart horse too. LOL at your selves sending your body a message 6 weeks before a race. Hilarious! :D Good thing the body is willing by the time it gets the message.

Wendy - Good idea not to overdo with the knee. Want you to be able to complete that 18 miler. I don't have any of my family members to take an interest in my running either only to ask how I did in a race. Like your DH, DBF feels obligated to go to some of my races. He's so happy I'm not doing 7:00 races this year. UML will be hard to work into a rotation for me because Iwant to keep some weights included. Jari didn't mention carbohydrates and calories not one time? She must not have been feeling well on taping day.

Christine - Glad you and DH cleared up things too. Guess Tony figured with all the darn push ups in UML, we didn't need any equipment. Wow, what a workout today! Picturing Jimmy looking at you with a bewildered expression.

Wendi - Glad the kitties are happy to back home. Sorry for the horrible day at work interfering with a good workout. Do think UML would work as an add on. I still had energy to do something else. That's unusual with Tony. Hope you have a relaxing evening.

Karen - Good job on the tempo run! Those wipe me out sometimes. Glad the calf is doing ok. So sorry your mom is still in pain. Sure hope in two weeks they can get everything taken care of. (((HUGS)))) Keeping my fingers crossed for good weather for you this weekend.

Have a good night everyone!

Hey, girls~

WendyI’d wave to the camera but I think I’d better conserve every ounce of energy I’ve got! J Besides, you’ll see me. I’ll be the one waddling at the back of the pack dressed like a bumblebee…Thanks for your thoughts on the topic of interest/support. Since I am not that close with my sister, I am not sour about it, just commenting on the irony of it. I certainly don’t feel doing a marathon makes me deserving of pep rallies and gift cards or anything like that. But right now I appreciate even more the people who have been cheering me on along the way.

JudyYour posts are never one-sided or rambling. Hope DS21 can get in that needed R&R at home. Best of luck to DD17 in the regatta!…I kind of wondered that myself about no sub, but I guess it’s because she is not a certified teacher. You are making me want to go back to yoga classes. Well, except for the part about doing the splits. *lol*

ChristineLake Placid sounds perfect after those tough intervals…Seems like today it was my turn to get all the drop-by visitors (at school). On the day before a holiday, we can take an early out and leave @ 2:15. Now, I knew I had a few things to get done—type up & send out the minutes for today’s team meeting, organize my sub plans on the desk, tidy up the room, enter some grades. I figured I’d be out by 3. Nope. Didn’t get out til 5:15. Five different visitors, two of whom came back again.I don’t know what it was. I was getting my ear yacked off! I love my co-workers dearly—don’t get me wrong, but today was not a day with time to spare. Snorting over the phrase “a few clowns short of a circus.”

Carolethat’s great that your mom will still be close…stinks about the nutrition site. Did you get it working?...oh, we’re not known as the Evil C’s…YET! It's just this long-running joke I have with one of my friends that he has an alter ego we call Evil Dan…ha ha on the pun! J A good wallop with the silly putty hammer should take care of DH!

Lindayou’ve become quite a speedster, eh? That’s great! Your training has been so solid—my money’s on a fabulous first mary for you. I made a quick pit stop at Target after work, specifically to look for Spirit, but they didn’t have it. I must be the black sheep cheetah—I’m slow and not that gifted a cook! *lol* Wow, you are tall, woman! I envy you that—I am only 5’4 ½ .

Jackieooh, I do like the Cheesecake Factory myself. We will probably visit Sears Tower. Good to hear feedback on Tony’s P90M series.

Poshyour post has got me beamin’ ear-to-ear and pumped up again! That Smokey sounds too cute. Glad he is inching along to recovery. Thanks for the tips! I do plan to get a good amount of rest these next three nights. If anything, I think it would be the reverse—you’ll leave me in the dust. But hey, maybe we can start together and see what happens. If anyone feels a need to charge ahead, so be it. (Won’t be me. J) I’ll probably be at every one of the McDonald’s pit stops lining the course. *lol* Hmm, good to know about the weather. I was all caught up in the forecast obsession over on RW this past weekend but haven’t had a chance to take a look during the week. Maybe I won’t need that shell, after all. It arrived today. Looks like a respectable breeze would blow that thing to shreds. *lol* Now when you say you trained with long runs every weekend, did you alternate long long runs with “short” long runs?

WendiOh geez, new girl sounds a “few clowns short of a circus.” J…Thanks, I’m sure I’ll survive a little additional chaos J. I don’t know for sure when she will return. I am hoping by the beginning of November…Glad you are feeling better. I hope those new meds kick in!

As mentioned to Christine, I had another somewhat long day—didn’t make it home til 6 tonight—but I was dying to get out there. Quickly laced up and hit the bricks for a solid 3+ mile run. Gorgeous evening. Felt strong. Achilles and the hammy in question are good-to-go. And my feet sure are thanking me for the grandma slippers.

Have a great night, everyone!

Hi Cheetahs!:eek::eek:

I forgot when the last time I posted, but I know I never got back for personals. I've had good intentions, but the days are flying by!! UGH! Homework is really kicking in now. So, my little window to post at night got smaller. :( I'm still working out and using BBC's the last two weeks. Anyway, before the weekend gets here I wanted to post a very big GOOD LUCK to all the girls racing!!!! Shelly and Wendy on the 18 miler; Karen on the half; Posh & Cathy on the full!!!! You girls are going to ROCK!!! If anyone signed up for something I don't know about.....GO GET 'EM! :D Oh Cathy, I'll pack the spatula!!! :p;):D Finally saw that movie. ha ha!

**Don't read if you're not going to Chicago**;)
I'm still trying to work out the plan to get to Chicago. We leave for the soccer tournament too. It's a haul, but the commute back to Chicago is no problem. I have the cell phones (Cathy, Posh, Carole, and Christine) added to my Blackberry. I have no idea what the Sat soccer schedule is, but I found out we have 2 early games on Sunday, then a 3P. If we make the Championship an even later game. I was hoping to be able to leave after the early games. **crossing fingers** We may even know Sat, depending on how the girls do, if there will be a last game on Sunday. Sorry, I know, too much soccer info. ;) Just letting you know what I'll be up to while you're having some pre-race Cheetah fun. :D A friend told me I can track you with the Blackberry. Maybe you can e-mail your bib number? Anything else?!?!? LOL!

I'm out of time (shout out to the rest of you great Cheetahs!) and need to be up super early tomorrow. Hope to get regular....ha ha! Regular posting. I know I'm slap happy right now.

Nighty-night!

hi

Woah, 2 posts in one day for me? Going to bed in a minute but I figure I better get in a few more words since tomorrow is looking slim for having time to do so…Here’s what I gotta do for Thursday: I wake at 6 am to get DS out to school, make his lunch, yada, yada, feed take out dogs, feed cat, feed/give meds to horse, squeeze in some stretching, shower and off to massage appt and last minute errands before work. Get off work (8PM) race home to get finished packing then get some sleep since I have to leave at 3:30 a.m. with DH since he’s taking me to the airport on his way to work…..whew!

Wendy – Thanks for the wishes, Yeah, I am down on my expected performance and probably it is because our training sort of fell apart over the last 6 weeks or so…and I’ve lost weight BUT still have a lot to go (I should be called Chubby Cheetah!)…but oh well, like the Cheetahs have been telling me, “doesn’t matter how slow, it is the finish” for the marathon. I’m just gonna go, take it slow and have FUN! This trip anyway is more for Cathy and celebrating her first marathon, so…. “it’s all good”… GOOD LUCK to you on Sunday!

Shelly – If you pop in, GOOD LUCK to you on Sunday too! I know you and Wendy Lou are gonna tear it up!

Christine! I’m dyin’ over here with the “few clowns short of a circus” that is HILARIOUS! Wait til I whip that one out at work! I’ll make em’ roar…lol. Poor Jim dog, I bet that fella puts up with the same wacky stuff my Violet does! If they could only roll their eyes  ..or do they?!?!?

Karen – So sorry about your mom – I hope she gets some relief soon. Good of you to take such good care of them too! GOOD LUCK on your race this weekend!

Wendi – Sorry you had to work today! WTH? WHERE was new girl??!?!?! Hope your meds start kicking the infection instead of your…uh hem… Thanks for the good wishes…

Jackie – Don’t know if it is so much the body is willing after the selves decide; it is more of an “oh great, now what did they get us into?” and the body just does the best it can to survive! LOL

Cathy – No, No, Noeeewwee, my friend, no dust from me, seriously, I am running very slow paced these days and I’ll be lucky to pace like 12 - 13 min miles for this gig. Surely I can start out with ya’ll but you’ll get tired of my tortoise pace. My friend usually leaves me in the dust, but her hip is bothering her now so who knows? I don’t care, I just want to survive the day so I can eat the pizza! LOL… Hey, I saw the McDonald’s something or rather stops…what are they? … I guess I could go read, eh? LOL Oh, ya, btw, re: the long runs, yes, I meant each weekend alternating long, longs with short longs…We’ve been lucky to have a longish every other weekend because my friend works in the ER room and has every other weekend off, so we were trying to stuff in the longest we could on the alternating Monday before I had to be at work for 11:30 a.m. ….crazy I know…

Dallas! Bring the spatula! I’ll probably need the spatula motivation therapy! I know what a tournament weekend can be like as far as not knowing how long and how many games. Good Luck though! And I hope we get to meet you!!

HI GLORIA!! if you check in! Hope you have a lovely weekend!

Ok, REALLY past the bed time and the selves are arguing because I was supposed to be in bed and hour and a half ago!

Night!

Posh
