My impression of LIS

I still think Cathe produces the absolute best quality workouts in the industry.

I enjoyed LIS. Like the Colts outfits! Really had fun with the "hip hop" step as it matched the music and rythm of the choreography. The routine was fun but I will try the workout on an 8 inch step once I've got the choreo down to get the intensity I crave. I can appreciate this workout for all of the flock that need lower intensity step routines. Just falls a teeny bit short of intense for me.

The music was "OK".

I give the shoulder portion of LIS an A-, the minus being the music which, for me, detracted from the workout. For the very first time in my "Cathe life" I tried the vocals only option and loved just listening to Cathe's voice alone. This helped me go heavier and mentally concentrate through the sets. I have a nice, warm burn in my delts today but I could have gone a little heavier. I was surprised Cathe only used 8 pounds for her lateral raises.

LIS was quite nice.
Still like BCBi/Tri with 3 out of 4 down and Kickbox to go.

I forgot about that "hip hop" move! I was smiling like the biggest dork doing that one! I was not expecting Cathe to bust out with that move. ;) :p

I didn't notice the music as being good or bad. I was too focused on the moves (which are so fun!)

I loved the shoulder work. Cathe's best ever, in my opinion. A++++++

I agree, I think I'll raise the step for this one but I do LOVE the shoulder workout and I think I like the music. I was not expecting that move either - I haven't decided if I like that or not. I love all the weight segments so far. I haven't done the kickbox and legs but plan to tomorrow. Can't wait.

Doesn't she use 10#? I've only previewed, but I thought she grabbed 10# and 8#--in case she needed to drop down for the second set--and uses the 10#.

Kathryn, you're right. She grabs 10# for the lateral raises and uses 8# for the front raises with the pull back-to-the-shoulder move thingy. (Yep, I'm pretty technical....)

Ooops, maybe that's why I a have a little burn instead of a killer burn.

Is 10 pounds for lateral raises heavy for someone like Cathe?

I did this on an 8 inch step and it was a great solid workout. It really makes a difference in intensity if you up your step height:) I really LOVED the ab section at the end}(

Susan

Singing, cool, thanks for the feedback on the 8 inch step. I think that's exactly what I'm looking for!

The abs in LIS are reminiscent of P90X with the bicycles. I agree, good core workout.
