My hubby recorded over Step Works!

I was so geared to do Step Works last night. It hasn't been in my rotation for a long time (injured, sick and then did CTX rotation) and I was looking forward to it. When I popped it into the VCR, I got an old episode of the Simpsons! It turned out that the tab had never been removed. I never noticed before and he didn't check, just stuck a tape in. I don't know if I should complain to SNM or just bite the bullet and buy it again. It will cost a fortune with shipping because it has to be shipped international. I am so bummed! :'( The night was however rescued with Step Jam.

International! That explains why the post in the middle of the night..or else I thought you would be a new mom.... I didn't realize copyrighted tapes could be taped over...I am going to check mine now!!

I sold them for $10 each + shipping, which turned out to be $15, but she was glad to pay because of the inflated shipping rates through businesses. I think she told me that 1 video cost $5 or $7 to ship when she purchased it through the Firm Swap, so depending on the deal you get, you could end up getting your video replaced for about $15-$20. She mailed me cash (which made me a bit nervous, but I got it in less than a week!) inside of a greeting card.

Anyway, you might want to check it out...I see other Cathe's for sale all the time!

I did that once over my son's favorite Scooby-Doo tape. I wrote the company. They asked me to ship the tape back and then replaced it. Send an e-mail. The write protection on commercial tapes should always be removed. Good luck!

Wanted to warn you all that after I saw this I checked all my cathe tapes and step jam, step heat, and step works all still had the erase tabs on them. Needless to say I removed the pronto. I would call cathe or e-mail her, I've have great luck with customer service and since they sold a tape that should have not been erasable I'm sure they will make good for it.

I thought hard and remembered that I bought it from Collage. I sent them e-mail telling about the problem. I didn't expect a reply because while they have great service otherwise, they are very bad at answering e-mail or at least my international e-mail. However! I just got a letter from them 5 minutes ago, saying that they will replace it immediately. So now I can say only good things about Collage again! I'm really looking forward to getting it again.

What I did to my husband...? Well, I did jump up and down and swear.

I also checked my tapes and found that Step Fit still had the tab on it. Hopefully we'll all so have DVD and won't have to worry about this problem!

I sympathize

Imagine my surprise last year when I popped in my "Step Jam"
to do it for the first time only to see a commercial. Grrrrr!!!!
I allowed my husband to live and replace my tape (and buy 3 more for my pain and suffering). It only taped over the warm up though so I sent it to someone at VF.
