My husband and I bought scooters this weekend and are having so much fun with them. They only go up to about 40 mph, but I got them licensed and can drive it on the street. I still need to get my motorcycle license, but can putt around for a while with only my permit.
My scooter claims to get 100 mpg, and my husbands 110 mpg! He has riden his to work twice this week and loves it! They both cost about $2,000 each and the are super cute and fun.
I got a red and white Honda Metropolitan
DH got a Yamaha Vino Classic:http://powersports.honda.com/images/model/model_images/Scooters/2008/Metropolitan_Ruby.jpg

They are the same size, one just has a bigger pic.
If you are looking for a way to save gas money and have a commute that isn't via freeways you may want to look into it!
