Arrrrgggghhhh!! I don't know what is going on with my furry son, but he has sone really out of control with peeing in the house lately. I get it during the very snowy season when he'd disappear in the snow. I keep a pee-pad in the laundry room, which he was using for quite some time. But he seems to have gotten amnesia about going outside to pee and chooses to pee wherever the heck he chooses!!!! We've had him for four years and this year seems to be the worst- like he has digressed!

Please offer any advice if you have gone through this or know someone who has.

HELP!!! Geeeze, ya get one family issue under control and another pops up!

Thanks!
Pam

You may want to get a urinalysis done on him to be sure there is no medical reason like a UTI causing his recent digression. A sudden change in urinary habits may be medical vs. behavioral. Bichons are prone to urinary issues - especially bladder stones. So, I'd call your vet and have him checked out - especially if he's asking to go out more or you are noticing any straining at all.

Good luck!

Is he drinking alot? I had a bichon that had diabetes, we had to give her insulin injections. I would get him checked on.

Vet visit. Granted it was my cat that started peeing on everything and a trip to the vet showed she had kidney stones. Felt like she had been trying to tell us something was wrong and we just weren't getting the message. Best to check it out.

Wow! I hadn't even thought about any of those things or that it might be medical. I will absolutely get him into the vet to have him checked!

Thank you very much!
