My bad luck......

Hi everybody!! Well, I went to see the doctor and the cast is now off and I'm doing ROM exercises. Of course, I can't lift any weights, no pushups, pullups, no swimming, or diving. But I can run and do aerobics:7 !! Anyway, here is my bad luck. My son had a baseball game last night and me and my youngest decided to walk to the park. So we're walking along talking about her birthday, when all of a sudden a big boxer comes out from nowhere and attacks us!! Luckily, he didn't get my daughter, but he got me good!! He jumped and bit me in my right ribs!!! So I'm gimpy on my right side too.
Boy I can't wait for this bad luck streak to end. In the mean time, I went on my first run since my injury, this morning and it felt great!!! Ahhh...... to sweat again!! What a nice feeling:) !

Have a good day!!

Ps- yes the proper authorites were called and the dog was up to date on his shots. Thank goodness, or I might be foaming at the mouth right now;) !

That is awful about your bad luck streak and the dog attacking you. Thank goodness your daughter was not hurt. I hate it when irresponsible people do not keep their dogs leashed. My son, my cocker spaniel, and I have almost been attacked a couple of times in our neighborhood while out walking because of the dogs not being leashed. Good luck in your recovery. Your luck has to change sometime soon, if not already. Have a great day and enjoy the workouts you can get in!

Amy,
My heart goes out to you. I watch you striving to take care of your health, and life just doesn't seem fair sometimes. Your luck is bound to change for the better soon and all of the problems will seem long ago. Wishing you all the best of luck.

OMG Amy! Now I know why you didn't respond to my email. You poor thing:( What was wrong w/those people that own that dog anyway!!x( I'm very angry for allowing them to have a vicious dog run wild in the neigborhood (unless he got out from their fenced yard that's a different story or he doesn't belong to anyone which is even worse). The dog should've been fenced in w/a sign telling people to beware. How did you ever run w/your injury? Your one amazing woman. Take care of yourself & know that I'm thinking of you. My best, Kathy:*

Amy!! So sorry to hear about the dog attack!!!

A dog chased me when I was little and to this day I'm afraid of big dogs. I'm so glad everything's okay now. I'm so glad your daughter wasn't hurt!!!

Take care!

Amy, I know you said proper authorities were called, but I would encourage you to make sure some sort of report is made, pushing it as far as you can. The reason is that if this dog bites again, possibly even worse, less can be done sometimes to help the victim. Many times people will receive serious inujury (remember the lady is San Francisco who was killed?), and it will be found that the dog has a "history" yet no one has that history on paper. Consequently, the next victim has to fight harder, and the owner (who usually doesn't care) will claim that this is the first time their precious dog has ever done this. Perhaps you have done this, and if so, wonderful. Hopefully the owner is responsible, and will not be a nightmare for you on top of the dog bite. My husband works with animal control, and do I ever have stories......!!

Hoping you heal fast! When people write that they need encouragement on this board, these are the things I try to recall. I bet you would give quite a bit to be ABLE to work out. So many of us are able, and just lack motivation. You motivate me this week! I will pray for your speedy recovery as I push a bit harder for you :)

Woo-Hooo Aimee! Running AND aerobics, that is awesome! I bet it feels so good to get that cast off too. I am so sorry about your dog attack. I mainly jog on a track right in my backyard but if it rains a bunch, (LIKE LATELY! Grrr!) it floods. Then, I resort to jogging the neighborhood. Dogs are my greatest fear too as my mom was attacked by a St. Bernard once. Sorry, you were injured but HAPPY you got in a good sweaty jog! :7 Keep us posted. I think your bad luck has run it's course. Good to "see" you here!

(((((((((((AIMEE)))))))))))))

I hope this run of bad luck turns around for you in the near future...OK, NOW!!!!!!!

Glad your cast is off and you can do some cardio and run. I'll bet that does feel good. I'm also thrilled that you (and your daughter) are OK after the dog attack. I hope the authorities take care of this threat. That's so scary.

((((((More hugs)))))))
