Must wear a lilac Bridesmaid dress on 6/18! Yikes!!!!

My sister is getting married in June. I just found out she picked out lilac dresses. Geeeze... no more girl scout cookies for me. That dress is gonna show each and every crum I have eaten. Plus the wedding is outside.

I am getting serious w/Body For Life this week. Anyone else want to join me?

Think I can turn into a hot babe by 6/18 if I get serious? Plus we are going to Florida in late June. Two good goals to get me serious I guess, right???

Any advise????

CRAP! I cannot make the wedding...throwing my boy his 3rd birthday party that day! Tell your sis I am sorry!:7 :7 :7

Seriously, that is great that you have a goal! I think it helps to have something like that to help keep yourself in check! Work hard and you WILL be hot hot hot!!!

Sarah - thanks for the "hot hot hot" wishes! If only in my dreams ;) ha ha ha. Yes, I agree a goal is the best thing.

Heck, I ate tuna fish on a wheat tortilla tonight for dinner. Don't know the last time I ate that healthy and lite for dinner. I am usually good but not that good. I guess the vision of me in a lilac dress in the mountains w/my butt wiggling all over the place is enough to make me live on tuna - ha ha :+

Seriously, I don't want to be the fat sister in a purple dress!

p.s. Sarah - forgot to add...maybe my sis will move her wedding so you can make it :7

Don't feel too bad. I'm a bridesmaid on April 2nd and we are wearing strapless tops. I am the oldest bridemaid by about 12 years! I do not have any sort of color at all and I could stand to lose those last ten pounds. I just feel chunky lately.

I am waiting for Cathe to post a Hardcore rotation. Wouldn't it be great if this rotation would just melt off ten pounds and make me tan! I know.......... I just have to eat very clean. Sigh!

Good Luck!

KarenL:)

Karen - unfortunately I think "clean eating" is definitely the key for both of us. I know that when I truly eat clean I have so much more success.

I have to wear a lilac dress and only have choices of strapless or very thin spaghetti straps. The good thing is I get to choose the style from a bunch of different ones - it just has to be purple.

Best of luck to you!!!!! I am sure you will be a little "hottie"!

Thanks ! I'll settle for the old hottie!;)

Any suggestions for clean eating meals? I work in a school so I brown bag it. I need some snack ideas too. Quick and easy, Rats!x( Chocolate just doesn't qualify does it!

Keep me posted on your success!:)

KarenL

P.S. I love lialic. You will look beautiful!

Must-wear-a-lilac-bridesmaid-dress-on-6/18,
This is must-wear-a-pink-bridesmaid-dress-on-5/21!!!! What a great motivator, eh? I really have to clean up my diet ASAP or I'll look like a giant easter peep. Counting calories works the best for me. Strict diets haven't worked (for a maximum of 2 weeks maybe). Looking to drop 20 pounds. Yikes.
Just a note to say good luck to us both!!!! :D

I am always amused with these "panic" posts about getting in shape for one certain event like a wedding or a vacation. Wouldn't it be better to think long-term and find a good plan that will allow you to keep your weight off? What happens AFTER the wedding?

Mind you, I can't fault you for wanting to look good in the wedding pics, but wouldn't your rather take it off once and keep it off? If I were you I'd get right over to a Weight Watchers meeting and do it the smart way.

Just a suggestion, take it or leave it.

By June 18? You've got plenty of time (depending on what your starting point is, of course).

Lilac, huh? What's the fabric and the cut of the dress? The first wedding I was ever in, I was the maid of honor and had to wear pale pink. I'm a winter, and pale anything makes me look dead! I was so mad because the other bridesmaids got to wear a dark pink. I would have looked so much better in that color. My bridesmaids got to wear black. Everyone looks good in black!

donna: you are right on!!! black is the most sliming and therefore, my favorite color to wear!!!!

fitnut: you can do it! focus! your comment on your but wiggling around in the mountains had me ROFLMAO! my but does that in every color!

angie: great peep ananlogy! extreemly funny!

i to have a deadline for this summer, but i wearing white! i have been working on it since November though. it's a slow process, but i have to take one day at a time. i have cut out sugar and limit high starch (potato, whole grains) to 1/day). great fun! good luck and keep us posted on your progress!

Maybe we should an easter egg gown check in? hee hee :+

Cakebaker - funny thing is I am totally focused on the long term and healthy living which is why I do body for life b/c it is something I know I can stick to. The wedding is just a good goal to help me lose the baby weight I have gained w/my past two kids. My youngest just turned one. I am just starting a BFL challenge (started Sunday). For me it helps to have a short term and long term goal. As Bill Phillips says "visualize" your results. For me, I am trying to "visualize" my skinny booty in a lilac dress in June ;) If that happens I know I will also reach my other long term goals including long term fitness. I agree it is not good to only have a short term goal which is why BFL works so well for me. It is a lifestyle change that all of my family is even adjusting to!!!

And yes to you jdoll - my big booty jiggling around the mountains in a lilac dress even cracked my hubby up lastnight

Hey there -- This is an encouragement message, so read to the end! I saw a great commercial the other night. I'm not sure if it was Nike or Adidas...something like that. The camera faces a girl as she does push-ups, and the message is basically "don't do it for the boyfriend, don't do it for the next wedding, don't do it for etc.....do it for yourself."

It inspired me so much -- Let the reason for doing it be for you. That way you own the power, not them! Anyway, it made me feel really good. : )

So, rock on to being healthy from the inside out!

I just saw that commercial...it was for Champion!

Fitnut, that would be just SUPER if your sister could change the wedding date...I am sure that would be much easier than me replanning my sons birthday party!:7 :7 :7

It sounds like you are doing great and have realistic LONG term and LIFE long goals. BFL sounds like a great plan, very healthy. I think the wedding is just a nice extra push to limit those cheat days!

Keep us updated and post pictures of the dress when you can!

Newswoman - I saw that commercial the other night and it almost made me cry w/emotion! I loved it! I even rewound it (we have digital recording cable) for my husband and made him watch it! Yes, doing it for "YOU" is the only way! But I like the idea of the June date. I have quit BFL and started over so many times. I am determined to finish this challenge I just started for ME and no one else. The lilac dress will be a "bonus", right :) I would love to have a nike poster w/that saying on it to hang in my office at work or home.

Sarah - will keep you posted on the date change. You can view the dresses at www.davidsbridal.com It is the victorian lilac color. Basicly I can pick out dress I want... well almost. She even said I can have it shortened if I want. Since I am only 5'3" the shorter dresses always look better on me :)

p.s. Newswoman - are you a news reporter? Or do you just LOVE the news??? :+

Champion -- thanks. I wish they'd make a magazine ad, so I could rip it out and post it.

I'm actually in a wedding (I think 6/18, too) and thought about the whole, "oh, I gotta get ready" thing. Then, I thought, "I'm fine. Stay true to me."

(I do work in news...trying to stay on the production path but not necessarily hard news. Yuck!)
