Hi Cathe,
I was interested in getting your opinion on a muscle tear. A friend of mind jumped and landed wrong tearing her gastrocnemius. She wasn't able to walk for a couple of days until she went to the doctor - a chiropractor. He stretched her and got her a little more mobile then told her her calf was in fairly good shape, considering, to not bandage it so she can stretch it, and that she could go back to a light workout 5 days later. I commented that she should bandage it and not workout for at least another week or two so that it has more time to fully heal so as not to injure it further and that it a muscle that gets involved in almost every cardio activity I could think of.
Can you please share your thoughts on the best way to recover and length of time to return to a workout?
Thank you!
