Muscle Endurance/Am I a Whimp?

Hi Everyone,
I did Muscle Endurance for the first time today and it kicked my bottom! I said some not very nice things to Cathe throughout this workout(sorry!). My husband even yelled down to the basement to ask if I was allright. I did the same weights as Cathe, but I could not finish those biceps! I was actually screaming they were burning so badly, and I won't even mention the ab routine. After those single lunge low-ends my legs were so fried that I couldn't lift them in the air for the abs!!I usually lift pretty heavy weights, but this one humbled me. Has anyone else experienced this, or am I alone in wimpy land? Thanks for the challenge Cathe(I think!).

I haven't done this one yet-it's scheduled for Friday. However upon previewing it yesterday and writing down the weight she used I have a feeling I too will be humbled. I usually try to match her pound for pound but I don't think it's going to happen! ;-) At least not on her arm work. I'll let ya know how I survive! Hey, by the way, you should feel proud you made it through! Stay strong- Susan

You most certainly are not a wimp!!! I did ME today for the first time and it really kicked my bottom. I always kid myself by thinking I'm in shape and then a tape like this comes along and whispers ...oh no you're not. I kept thinking that surely the floor portion was coming along any minute but there was some new horror. Well, when I finally got to the floor I couldn't even budge my legs and body off the floor for the oblique planks. I had to use two hands. It will be a long time before I am the master of this one and not the other way around!!! Just typing this makes me want to go and lie down. Bethc

OK, I thought the hardest part of the entire thing was going into the step ups after doing back, chest, and biceps. I could barely hold the plate and my balance was off a bit. haha. I agree that sticking it out for the ab work---which is a KILLER, by the way--was tough. I was tempted to bag it but stuck it out.

Thanks everyone for your input. I was so glad to see that I wasn't the only one groaning. I did upper body pyramid today. It was pretty good except for those darn bi-ceps. They really seem to be my weak area. The ab section was a hoot, I fell off that darn balance ball more times then I can count. I don't think it was a very good ab workout for me today. I spent the entir time just trying to keep my balance. Oh well, I guess that works the core too. Thanks again.

This is too funny -- I am actually laughing out loud while reading your posts! I did Muscle Endurance for the first time yesterday, and I was definitely NOT going to try the same weights Cathe used (except for biceps and chest). I don't even use weights for the lower body work (bad knees). There were a few moments during the workout that I muttered my irritation at Cathe. When she said it was time to do leg press (AGAIN), I groaned "oh NO . . . ." But I managed to make it through, probably because I didn't try to match her on the weights. She definitely does kick butt.
