Much Needed Break

I have been exercising virtually non-stop since last September or so. And, well, I was getting a little burned out because I was on such a tight schedule. Between school, full-time job, and exercise (oh, and let's not forget eating and sleeping), I started to feel burned out about 2-3 weeks ago. Kinda sucks, because that's when I got my new Hardcore workouts and I was just feeling too tired to do them, even though I was so excited about them! And, well, maybe I'm feeling stressed and burned out because I was so excited about getting them that I overwhelmed myself with wanting to do them all "RIGHT NOW"!!! :D

So, at any rate, this week started out rough and I could tell it was not going to let up, so I decided to take a week off from exercise to focus on a couple of big school assignments and a huge meeting/presentation I needed to prepare for my bosses at work. Aaaahhhhh! I knew that trying to squeeze workouts into my already loaded evenings this week was going to be just too much for me to handle. Besides, my knees and feet needed a break, too. They were starting to hurt me from the over-stress impacting from all the aerobics I've been doing (I'm still trying to find that perfect pair of shoes -- another pair should get delivered today or tomorrow...that's another reason to take a week off).

So, long story short, I've been slackin' this week, but it's much-needed. I should be all re-charged this weekend when I get back into it with my Hardcore workouts...and maybe a new pair of great shoes! :D

Hey, I always say a new pair of shoes is the best cure for any problem. :p

I actually take a week off twice a year. I find myself to be stronger when I get back. I don't know the physiological reasons for this, all I know is it works.

Take your week and ENJOY it. As others have said, I think you will come back refreshed.

I take a rest week after every ten weeks of working out, because my body really needs it. I hope to increase to 12 weeks and then a rest week, but so far I've always tweaked something on that 11th week.x(

take care
Maggie
