I was so sad when I heard this.
I feel like I've lost an old family friend! I grew up watching him, and learned so much fun stuff. His movies about how things are made were my favorite!
My parents always tease me about the way I said crayons-- "crans" (like the begining of CRANberry instead of "cray-ons"). They say "you learned that from Mr Rogers, He says it like that." I still have to stop and think before I say the word and make an effort to say it correctly.
I'm 3 days shy of 34 but I can still remember the words to his songs:
"I like to take my time"
"You can never go down the drain"
and of course "Won't you be my neighbor?"
Maybe I'll start saying "crans" again as my way of honoring the memory of this man who helped shape my world.
