Hey guys!
I had such a great weekend with my friend! I wish she lived closer to me. The weather was weird. Thursday night and into Friday we ended up with about 5 to 6 inches of snow. Saturday and today was beautiful...60's! Tonight I did Body Max. It was tough after a weekend of eating, drinking, and making merry...tee hee.
Here is my game plan for the week:
Monday: Imax 2
Tuesday: Timesaver Kickbox, Hi/Lo, and CoreMax Circuit
Wednesday:pUB/PLB Bonus Combo/Stability Ball from both workouts
Thursday: KPC or Cardio Kicks
Friday: SB/SJB 85 min. premix
Saturday: Imax
Sunday: Rest
Randi,
I sure hope you are feeling better.
Lori,
I will be going to see the Passion of the Christ also....I just don't know when yet.
Have a great week you two!

Hi girls!!! My weekend was good. I had the dreaded weigh-in today and I finally dropped 2 lbs. Finally. I have lost a total of 2 lbs., 2% bodyfat, and 4.9 inches. I am going to do the same rotation this week that I did laST WEEK. OOPPSS.....I am doing cardio today. I am not sure which one yet, I am leaning towards KPC. I lOVE that workout!!!
Lori

Good morning,

Angela, I'm so glad you had a nice time with your friend and I'm also glad that the weather warmed up for you! I haven't done BodyMax in a looong time.

Lori, congrats on the weight/body fat loss! 4.9 inches?? That's awesome! I love KPC too.

Well, no workouts for me last week unless you count dancing on Saturday. I got the Freestyle Fitness book on Friday and read most of it yesterday and I'm going to try this method for the next three months, along with heavy lifting for the upper body and strict BFL eating. I think if I actually plan out my meals ahead of time things will go much more smoothly. So here's my workout plan for this week:

Mon: Rest
Tue: PUB pyramid up + lunge cycle + PUB core
Wed: L&G/KPC premix + KPC core
Thu: PUB pyramid up + lunge cycle + PUB core
Fri: LL + PLB floorwork + LL abs and gym cardio, 30 min.
Sat: BC/ME premix + lunge cycle + BC/ME core premix
Sun: KPC premix + lunge cycle + KPC core

You may already know this but Freestyle trains the lower body six days a week. Slim Series helped in this way but I need (like?) doing heavier upper body work. I'm taking measurements and tracking my weight as well and making myself an experiment of one, lol.

Dh's best friend saw The Passion of the Christ this weekend and said that it's a very powerful movie. I don't think I can handle seeing it on the big screen though - I'm very sensitive to graphic violence. I'd like to hear what you think of it.

ttyl, and here's to a GREAT workout week!

Randi

Hey Lori & Randi! Your workouts sound great! Congrats Lori on your weight loss and inch loss. That is fabulous. Randi, I'm so glad you are feeling better. Instead of Imax 2 I ran 5.4 miles...the weather was gorgeous and it felt great to be outside! Have a great week ladies!
Angela:7

Has all the snow melted already Angela? I can actually see my driveway again! And some of our grass is showing through too now.

This morning I got through almost all of my leg circuits before my little guy woke up. By the time he was back asleep it was way past time to get ready for work. So I'll do a little adjusting to my workout schedule but I think it should be fine. I'm glad I'm back to my Cathes! I'll have to see where doing three weeks of SS left me in terms of strength and cardio endurance.

ttyl,

Randi

I'm so sore from my run yesterday. I went ahead and did the Timesaver Kickbox, Hi/Lo, CoreMax Circuit as planned.

Yes...the snow melted away quickly as the temp. reached the 60's Saturday, Sunday, yesterday, and today. Good luck on your Cathe's Lori!
Until tomorrow!

Hi guys. I have been very busy, really no internet time. My 15 year old daughter tried to commit suicide twice in the past 2 weeks. She lives with her dad, but for now, she is back with me. I have been taking her to day classes at a local mental health center, and spending alot of time with her. Eating was terrible yesterday, no workout, but trying to get back on track today. i am going to do SJP. Talk to you tomorrow.
Lori

Oh Lori, I'm so sorry about all that you're going through. Take care of your daughter and yourself, don't worry about the workouts - I'm sure all the energy you have is invested emotionally right now. All my best to your family and since I'm a praying person, I'll be keeping your family in my prayers as well.

I was feeling sorry for myself b/c I haven't been able to stick to my workout plans for this week, but I'm going to stop now. I have to get up by 4 to w/o in the morning and if I don't get enough sleep (baby) or the baby wakes up around that time then no w/o for me, kwim? It hasn't been going well this week. Tomorrow is another day. Sometimes things just don't go according to plan.

Anyway, my eating has been good, so that's the important thing...

ttyl,

Randi

Lori,
You and your daughter and family are in my prayers. Wow.

Randi,
You are right tomorrow is another day. We must always remember that a fresh start is right around the corner when things don't go as planned.

Yesterday I did PUB/PLB bonus combo plus stability ball work. Today I will do cardio but I may do different cardio than what I have planned.

I am thinking of joining the Self Challenge. Mostly for the accountability and the eating as I feel the exercise is in place for me. Maybe I will even cut back on my exercising while following this plan just to see what happens. Although I am loving my workouts right now...again...read childless w/a husband in school so I have the time and energy.

Lori, please let us know how you are doing when you get the chance.
Angela

I am doing good. Alyssa is doing well. The classes are helping. plus I think being home with me really helps. She has told me at least 5 times in the last 3 months that moving to her dad's was the worst decision she ever made in her life. She was going to move home, but now her dad came home from work yesterday and his wife was gone, left. So, now she feels that she can't leave him alone, and might go back. We meet with her case worker tomorrow at 3, so this all will be discussed then. Tomorrow may be her last day. If our insurance will pay for 4, she will go on Monday. If it won't, tomorrow is her last day. I feel safe when she is there. I wish she could go for a month or so. She will definitely need counseling for awhile, but I like her being at home, and there. I work from home so I am always here. At her dad's, he obviously works, but so did Lori, his wife. There is just more stability here. I hope her dad realizes that, and sends her back here.
Lori

Good morning,

Lori, I'm glad to hear you and your daughter are doing well. Being a teenager can be difficult, and with all that she's going through she's very blessed to have a mother who cares as much as you do. It's great that you can be home to be with her. Hopefully her father will realize that she'll be better off with you and will encourage her to return. As far as insurance goes, it stinks that things like this are kept to the bare minimum. She should get as much help as she needs, the insurance company shouldn't put a limit on that. Rant over. I have a huge problem with some insurance co. policies but I won't get into that here!

Angela, maybe I'll check out the Self Challenge, just to look though. My problem is that I have to read every magazine, book and website. I'm going to stick with my freestyle plan for now, as soon as I can get going with it that is, LOL! Things have just been derailed for me the past couple of weeks. I think I'm pulling out my favorite workouts this weekend just to make me feel good, Rhythmic Step and maybe the BC/ME bonus combo.

Well, this weekend I'll be doing those workouts and going to get a bad haircut fixed! I hope!!! I'll also have some news, possibly tomorrow...I'll be checking in.

Take care,

Randi

I am going to just take the rest of the weekend off. Sunday I am going to start doing WW's again. I love the Discovery Health Challenge, but I just do not seem to be losing weight like I want. Talk to you ladies soon.
Lori

Sunday I am going to start the "This made my lower body smaller" rotation on the Video/DVD Forum.

Hey Lori, sounds like you have a good plan. I hope you have a very restful weekend.

Angela, I just checked out the Self Challenge website. It's a lot less exercise than we're used to, especially you :)! Of course, that is excepting this week and last week for me, lol. Anyway, are you going to do it as written? I def. think there is some merit to seeing results b/c of exercising less, maybe b/c of the rest factor? My body is looking pretty good for someone who hasn't been exercising as much as usual. Just a random thought. Also, I'm a big sucker for any type of exercise log - I'm keeping two right now, soon to be three! And I just saw a new one advertised in Oxygen that I want.

Off to do some work now...:)

Randi

Hey Lori and Randi,
I signed up for the Self Challenge especially for the eating aspect of it. I am actually going to cut back on my cardio. I won't keep their workout schedule as is...for instance I start month one on Monday. You are supposed to do 3 30 min. cardio's and 2 strength days, and 2 ab days. I will do 4 cardio's but do steady state, running, a little higher intensity then steady state, and one interval per their suggesstions and you know they will be full length Cathe's or my own mish moshes! Then I will also do 2 days of weight training WITHOUT cardio. I don't know if I will do one total body strength/one total body endurance or if I will do one upper and one lower. I may vary that as weeks go. On my strength days I will do 2 ab workouts of choice to fry them good. What I like about the Self Challenge is you have healthy food goals every week. My goals are to:
1.) Lose and maintain a 10 pound weight loss.
2.) Make healthy food choices on a daily basis - plan!
3.) Finish this 3 month challenge.
I will probably try to eat 2 snacks a day and see how I do. I think it will still work b/c I will definitely be exercising more than they say to. Anyway, I think this will be a nice little kick in my rear end!
Lori, enjoy your restful weekend and good luck on WW! Have a great weekend Randi!

Hi Randi

I to want to participate in *This made my lower smaller* Where do I go? and what's the website for Self Challenge. Thank You.

Teddygirl~~

Hey Teddygirl,
The rotation you are looking for can be found in the Video&DVD Questions and Comments Forum and it is a thread called The Rotation that Made My Lower Body Smaller on page one of this forum. The Self Challenge can be found at www.self.com or it is in the March issue of Self Magazine. Have a great weekend!

Just checking in quickly before I jump in the shower. I finally had a great workout, uninterrupted! BC/ME bonus combo. I love that workout. Tomorrow I'm planning on doing a fun cardio - either Rhythmic Step or Step Blast.

Hi Teddygirl, Angela gave you the info you need! I hope you join our check-in! I'm trying to make my lower body smaller as well with Freestyle training. I like your goals Angela, they sound very doable. I know what you mean about the eating part. That's the hardest. I had a good week so far, one cheat meal today. In order to get my LB to lean out I'll have to really watch my eating. My UB is already pretty lean, I'm a typical pear shape.

Lori, I hope all is well with you!

ttyl,

Randi
