Motivation would help, please.

Your first post says your cravings are at night but later you say its in the office with all the stuff around. So are you eating more sugar all day long than you realize?

Two suggestions. I used to have an aweful sweet tooth but over time that changed. I'm not positive why, but I think its because I try to eat several times a day. I rarely eat refined foods.

If late at night I feel like I'm craving something to put in my mouth, I don't reach for chips, cookies, or sweets. Yes I have them in my house, but even though I might be craving them I grab the lean turkey breast, chicken breast or peanut butter I also keep in stock. I have that plain & it really takes my craving away.

Maybe I didn't take enough calories in so my body is yelling at me.

O/T, I'm really trying to convert to veganism, like Carole, so lately I make sure I have enough organic peanut butter, beans, organzos, & soy protein for when I'm at my weakest.

Good luck!

I recently stumbled onto this effect, too. Used to have a horrible craving for sweets at the office, even after eating lunch. Recently started having some food instead (yogurt with fruit or half a sandwich on whole grain bread)--I'm finding I don't crave sweets at the office and also, I'm not looking for dessert after dinner. So it might be a strategy for you to try.

WOW!

All of you have such great suggestions! There is no way I'm going to flub this up with all the help on my side. I'm going to try (when I get the urges again, usually at night) brushing my teeth, or peanut butter, I'll see if anything from my past is bothering me, if one doesn't work, then I'll try the next in line. I'm sure it will stick this time. Thank you to all of you, because without you I wouldn't have a clue on what to do about motivation, and how to trick yourself into a healthier way of cheating. Or a healthier way, more choices. Listen, if there are anymore suggestions, please, let me know. This is Great!

Sincerely,

Janie

If you want something sweet, go rip off your clothes and go look in the mirror for 15 minutes. Then put your clothes back on, make a cup of herbal tea with Splenda and keep yourself together!! That crap is not worth the damage it does to your teeth, your body, and your spirit!

LOL!!! That's a great tip! I also have bad cravings, so am very interested in this thread. Next time I crave something bad I will have a mirror check!
