Motivation @ Cathe's place... the best!!!

OK, I really did NOT want to get going this morning with my planned workout and was feeling down about not being able to handle impact with my current injury.

So I came to the forums as I do every morning with my mug of coffee and stated reading. It took a while, but you my friends with out even knowing it motivated me to get moving. I am grateful.

I remember Mama Deb had an injury that lasted a very long time and she was ever so positive.

And I think of all those folks in the gulf who are happy to be alive after Katrina and this whipped my attitude into shape.

My workout was KPC combos/leg press premix. This is really not very high impact save for some of the jumping into the kicks, and I tolerated it well. I even added on two extra sets of leg press after the third combo before the abs! I finished the workout with PS back/biceps/abs, and am just so pleased that I got through it with my previously poor attitude.

Thank you ladies for all the positive posts around here. It is really helpful. Please note that I have been a regular Cathe devotee since 1998 or 99 and I was just having one of "those" mornings.

Sorry so long, but I just wanted to show my appreciation to all the very special people on these forums.

A very nice post Judy. I remember Mama Deb having her injury. I had an achilles injury about the same time. It really is awful and does screw up your motivation sometimes.

You are right as it is just nice coming here and reading the posts...it has motivated me in the past on some down days. You did a great workout!!! Way to go!

After watching the devestation from Katrina, I am practically speechless. My first thoughts were it was like watching a movie after a strong storm and it wasn't real....but it is VERY real and my prayers go out to everyone there....Carole

Trust me Judy...there were days, like, you, that I was feeling quite down too. Funny how at the time, you feel like you will NEVER be normal/healed again. I totally agree that this place is THE PLACE to come for a dose of encouragement/happiness/good laughs and so on. It truly kept me going as I, not very patiently, waited for my injury to heal. There is always someone here to give you other options/ideas to help get you thru the down times. Glad you are feeling better today. We are soo blessed and have so much to be thankful for. Seeing all of Katrina's devastation sure helps to put it all into perspective. Sending extra prayers and thoughts your way for a speedier healing. Keep us posted.

Hi Carole!

How are you doing now? Are you all healed? Sorry I have been out of touch. Just seems to get crazier as the days go on. Hope you are all healed and running!

Hi Deb...thanks for asking. My achilles is good. I know I'll always have a few aches and pains at this age!! But I am doing a 20 mile trail race (not that I will be racing!!) on Sunday. I know you have been busy and lost a very good friend too. You have been on my mind and I hope you are doing well...http://bestsmileys.com/hugging/1.gif[/img]...Carole

Debbie- big smiles back atcha :7 :7 :7 Thanks!

It does help to check in here with friends who have been in similar situations. thanks friends!!!

Carole- Wow a 20 mile trail race after revovering fron an achilles problem. Now you have motivated me to keep up with the low impact/ hi intensity and this too shall pass... and when it does watch out!

One comment here: Freestyle type legs are helping me, my clothes fit better despite not doing plyo anything, running, or IMAX's. Not to say that I am not doing intervals.... They are just being done on the bike.
