Most classes under an hour

I have Cathe Live and I'm LOVING it. So much to choose from and they're all excellent. I'm just wondering though....is there a reason most of the Live classes are less than an hour? I know there are a few that are over 60 min. but when I look at the list it seems as if the majority are less than an hour. Just curious, not complaints.

I am gonna make the assumption (with Cathe & Crew free to correct of course) that because Live classes are filmed in her health club, that they run approximately the same length as a class there would. I haven't seen any classes at a health or fitness club go longer than 80 minutes and rarely do they exceed 50 minutes. The 70-80 minute ones are usually yoga flow ones. This is from my own experience.

Thanks Elsie, that makes sense. I didn't think of it that way. I'm so accustomed to Cathes workouts that I'm used to doing an hour, give or take a few minutes.

Most classes nowadays, even our DVDs, are less than an hour. Shorter workouts have been the trend for several years now as the advantages of HiiT workouts have become better known. As the intensity of a workout increases the duration must decrease. Hence more shorter classes nowadays.

I've been getting an impressive calorie burn too.....it surprised me. But then again......it's Cathe!

Hi TLC93! The newer trends are showing that 45 minute workouts are more popular than a 60 min format. More of a get in, get busy & get on with your day (or night) approach. People seem to
push themselves harder when they know it's under an hour. I know as an instructor I witness this firsthand.

Thanks Cathe. I must say I'm thoroughly enjoying the Live classes. I've been using the small amount of extra time for extra stretching and it helps. I've been needing that for a long time and never gave myself the time or opportunity to do it.
