more or less cardio

I have about 50 pounds to lose. I have seen a rotation suggested by Cathe that was 4 cardio days and 2 total body strength days. I have also seen where several people have upped their strength days and lowered their cardio days. Does anyone have any suggestions that would guide me in the direction I need to go? Thanks

My off-the-cuff suggestion: whatever you're doing now, change it to the other one. Then after two weeks, change it back to the other one.

This happens to work for me, maybe simply because it stays interesting and I end up giving my all to my workouts all the time.

It also discourages repetitive motion injuries and keeps me from going on "autopilot" and injuring myself from not paying attention.

I work out at 5 in the morning so this is a concern for me! YMMV

I'd try them both also, it's the only way to figure out which will work best for YOUR body.

For some here, less cardio and more weight work did the trick for their weight loss, and for others (like me), my weight loss grinded to a screeching halt as soon as I dropped below 5 days of cardio, but I would have never known how important cardio was to my body if I hadn't tried it. Everyone requires something different, 4 days of cardio may work for you, but the only way to find out is to just try it for a few weeks, if it works, GREAT, if not, add an extra day of cardio and see if that makes a difference.
And of course eating is a huge part of the equation. Heck, if I got that together I'd probably be able to get away with 3 days of cardio! :)
