more cardio than weights?

do any of you do 2 days of weights and 3-4 days of cardio? if so what are your results and what does your rotation look like? do you have muscle definition with working weights less frequently?

I have been for a long time, and am now moving off of that.

I feel like I've been plateau'd for a long time, and while I have toned my arms, I don't have definition like I'd like to have.

Thanks to the ladies out here, I have now changed up my routine to do 1 body part/day, combined with 25-30 minutes of cardio. So we'll see how that goes!!!

thanks for the reply. i do more weights than cardio but was just wondering if anyone believed in the other end of the spectrum. obviously more cardio isn't a popular thing b/c i haven't had much responses:p good luck with your split. i got great results with that.

I've always done more cardio than weights, but am trying to change that now. I know that cardio is important, but more important is weight training. This makes the metabolism work all of the time according to everything I hear lately. I have been having a hard time breaking the 5 day a week cardio habit even if its just for 30-40 minutes some days. It really does get addicting. I do have a bowflex though and I do alot of cathe's strength training. I have lost so much weight and just don't need all of the cardio I have been doing. I am also trying to learn to bring my caloric intake up too. I want to maintain my weight now. Even though I weigh 128-130, I am buying size 2 clothes now. I have weighed this before when I was in my 20's, but didn't wear a 2. Some of my weight has to be muscle. I think the thing that has worked for me most too is keeping my workouts "fresh" and different each week. I like to change things up alot.

I used to run constantly...sometimes 8 or more miles a day. I used to be in the military and when i was in my 20's it really kept me rail thin (that wasn't my goal, but it worked regardless)...now that I'm nearly 40, I have found that my joints are taking a pounding from all of the running. I can still do it, but I think I've been burned out lately. So, I recently decided to do one run at the park a week or on the treadmill, and then do Cathe's workouts for all other cardio - I lift 3 days, then cardio the other 2-3. i've just pretty much started this, but it feels good so far, and I have to say - it's more interesting than just running running running, which was really getting boring, especially factoring in the pain I was having on some occasions.
