Moms to be check in-mothers day week

shopaholic

Cathlete
Happy mother's day everyone! I am stil feeling good and have come to the reality that this baby is not coming out at 38 weeks like dd#1. I am at week 37 1/2. I was not dilated at all at last week's visit, we'll see what happens at my visit on Tuesday. My belly looks huge and I am fearful of a baby to large to deliver(although I am sure mine will be smaller than heather's or Mary's). I have gained about 23 pounds to date , and like my first, most of the weight is belly except for a little extra in the thighs and buns. Due to my small size and fact that baby hasn't dropped, doctor can't get an accurate measurement of the baby.

Heather, any news? I have this feeling you'll go before me.
Mary, how are you feeling , have the contractions slowed?
Curly, how is the new house going?
Morris, I am still amazed that you have the energy/motivation to do 2 workouts a day plus care for those sick animals.
Hi to all you other moms too, hope the morning sickness has decreased in you first trimesters.

DD and her daddy just gave me their cards, and a mother-child pendent.

Workouts:
sun-tae bo 2 adv. vol. 1
Mon-bodybar-armed and dangerous+Mindy cardio toolbox(skipped bootcamp step sect.)
Tues-lowmax blasts+tj 20 min. +leaner legs(skiped abs and deadlifts)
Wed-step this way 2 (skipped abs, subbed cardio kick kickbox core)
Thurs-firm express cardio + jf arms +bodysculptblaster and express hips, thighs(skipped abs)
Fri-step this way 2
sat-firm tough tape+mindy's strength toolbox-weight work-upper and lower and thighwork from band section.

good morning and happy mothers day everyone. hope you are all having an amazing day. i am well and getting bigger and bigger. energy is starting to ebb a bit, so i am just going one step at a time. very anxious for my dh to return home. maybe this week? on a plus side, i got my car seat installed yesterday, just in case.

shopaholic, you are so close. while i knwo you'd prefer to go at 38 weeks, things have a way of happening when they are supposed to, right? and who knows, today may be the day. have they any idea which way the baby is facing? and how do you know you have not dropped? i think your babe will be just the right size for you. i cannot imagine with just 23lbs of weight gain this baby will be BIG. but i know it is scary. maybe this week they will have more of an idea.

curly, i hope your unpacking is progressing well and you are all settling.

heather, any idea when you will go?

mary, i am hoping you are still home and able to read this. it must be exhausting to have contractions off and on all the time.

hope everyone else is feeling great!

sun - kpc, boot camp
mon - low max, 30 min strength
tues - imax 2, cardio and weights step only
weds - step blast, musc endurance
thurs - spin class, 30 min strength
fri - imax 2, legs and glutes
sat - low max

Hi mommys!!!! Happy Mothers Day! I am doing pretty good- still having the little sharp twinges, have lost my appetite- hubby keeps trying to tempt me with things like bbq, and homemade banana pudding, but if I eat more than just a little I feel like I am going to pop! I have had to force myself to eat several times in the past week because I just feel like I have no room in there! So DH installed carseat yesterday (as well! :D )and put the bags in the trunk- DS was excited today when he got in the car and saw his brothers carseat! He thought we were bringing him home today- I wish! What a Mothers Day gift, huh? Have my doc appt in the morning so I will know more then! Hopefully it will be soon, this is all new since DS never dropped and can I tell a difference!!!!!
Energy levels have dropped so unfortunately haven't worked out this week as much as I'd like:
Sun-OFF
Mon-Pilates (40 minutes); PowerHour
Tues-Bike Intervals (60 min)
Wed-Pilates (40 minutes); Muscular Endurance
Thur-OFF
Fri- Pilates; Bike (60 min)
Sat- Legs & Glutes; Bike (45 min)
I think I may try skipping the dead lifts, too because my back is REALLY feeling it later that night and the next day.
I will let ya'll know what I find out tommorrow!
Heather

Heather, I stopped the dead lifts since they were killing my lower back. Good luck, sounds like you are close.
Morris, I didn't think I droped with dd#1 but people said I did. Baby still looks high on me now.
Hubby wants this baby to wait a while longer so he can get some projects done! Lol. Our carseat is still in the attic. Hubby says he will take it down tomorrow.

Hello ladies, Well this is my 1st week without any workouts. The minute I start to raise my hr the contractions begin. I have been doing light weight training but not really much to talk about. I am disappointed because my dh went out and bought a new piece of weight equipment and I cant really use it. I know all will change once the baby comes and I can get back into the swing of things. I am also really excited because we hired a mothers helper for the summer this way I can work from home and still be with the kids. I can also squeeze in more workouts with the extra help. I am so impressed with all of your workouts, you guys rock!!! I wonder who will go 1st??? We are all so close to each other. dh set up the crib and I decorated the room this weekend but no car seat yet. I am going to the dr. on wed. and they will decide if a csection is a must or if we can try vaginal birth at 37 weeks. I pray I have vaginal birth but I have to see what happens. I will keep you posted.

Elyse, I just stopped in to see how things were progressing. You're almost there. I"m missing you at postpartum check-ins. One of us will have to start todder's check in real soon. ;) Only 23lbs? Wow. You're amazing. I cannot wait to hear your birth story of the arrival of your new baby. Baby Jadon is so much fun at 5mos, growing like a weed. I see the little itsy's at church and I think to myself...it goes so darn fast!!

The rest of you mommies are doing wonderful too! Yahoo! Keep up the good work & Happy Moma's Day!!

Melanie, so nice of you to check over here! How is your husband feeling, is he home? Hopefully you will see me on the postpartum check in soon. Alexis will shop for clothes/diapers for the baby but when asked if she wants a baby sister says "No". Glad your kids are doing well.
Mary, my money is on Heather for going first, but who knows. I know many people delivered 10 pounders so hopefully this is still an option for you.

We decided to wait to set up baby's room but this week will get the bassinet ready. We decided to get the crib in the fall since the baby will bunk with us the first few months and we want to keep our guest room a little longer. My suitcase is packed and babyclothes are washed.

I have not posted in a couple of weeks. I have been working out just did not post.

Tues - 35 minutes Chest, Triceps, walk 2 hours at Cedar Point
Thurs - 40 minutes Legs
Friday - 35 minutes LowMax
Saturday - 35 minutes Back, Shoulder, Biceps

It sure was hard going to Cedar Point and not riding rollercoasters!
My 6 1/2 year old daughter is tall enough this year to ride most of the big ones. We have season passes so I can ride at the end of the summer.

I am going to wash baby clothes this weekend and get my bag packed.
Baby room is getting done but my husband is a big procrastinator. He still needs to clean the carpet and put the crib together. Good thing I still have 6 weeks! I think I will keep my bag in the car as I work three days a week. The bad thing is that I am at a different client every day. I hope I don't go into labor at a client!

I am getting non-stress tests every Friday now. It is because I am over 35. I also have to do kick counts every AM and PM. Does anyone else have to do this?

How long will everyone wait to go to the hospital? I think I will go right away. My water broke last time and I progressed very quickly. I do not want to miss my opportunity at an epidural.

We are going to a sibling celebration and sibling sitter class at our hospital. Hoping to make my daughter feel more included in everything.

Rachel

Due 6/25/06

Good morning everyone! I didn't post last week, so I'm a little behind. Sounds like everyone is doing well!

Morris and Rachel - we're all due around the same time - I feel like 5 weeks is a lot, but when I think of all the stuff I have yet to do it's actually not long at all!! I have yet to install the car seat(s), put together the stroller, wash the baby sheets and clothes....ugh!!

Welcome and congratulations to all of the new folks! The time really does fly!

I'm working towards an unmedicated birth, so I am waiting as long as possible to go into the hospital. I have the GBS test in two weeks, and I'm hoping that comes up negative since I want to avoid an IV at the hospital.

My workouts still feel great, although I've shifted to mostly low-impact since baby boy likes to lay right on top of my bladder during my workouts :)

Sun: Prenatal Yoga
Mon: 1/2 hour walk, Greatest Step Workout
Tues: Biggest Loser Maximize workouts (both)
Wed: Leslie Sansone 2-mile walk; Step, Jump, and Pump (Step only)
Thurs: Mindy Awesome Intervals (twisted my ankle a bit on this, which I have done before)
Fri: Rest
Sat: 30 min walk

Good afternoon everyone! Had my doc appt this a.m- baby has definitely dropped, in position for birth. Doc says that everything looks perfect, cervix is softening and am having contractions- he guessed about 1 1/2 weeks at the most! FINGERS CROSSED! He said the babys head is big (following in big brothers footsteps!) so I get to look forward to that!
Yes, the deadlifts are going to be out for the next couple of weeks- i love doing them, but I really even have a hard time sleeping at night after doing them because my back hurts so bad! DH is right on top of everything- he can't wait for his second son, the sooner the better!:D He went and got the car seat and installed it w/out me even knowing it- he helped me pack the bags for the hospital and has the bassinet set up in our room, ready to go! I am getting so excited and anxious! Isn't it amazing that after 9 months of carrying the baby (and even having previous babies!) its still such a miracle to think of a new life coming into the world so soon!
We're on BABYWATCH 2006- who will be the first to go? And hopefully it will set off a chain reaction for the rest!!!:7
Have a good day!
Heather
ds #1- 12/23/02

P.S- had GBV done today as well! I will go to the hospital right away as DS #1 came after 15 minutes of pushing and have a feeling this one will be quick!

i think that is so great so many of you have your hospital bags packed. and i am interested to hear how long people are waiting to go to the hospital. also, any tips on essentials for the hospital? i have seen recomenndations online of what to pack in your bag, but if anyone has any tips, that would be great!

as far as who is going to go first, my guess is mary, but it will be interesting to see:) like curly said, i will miss you all on the check in once you go. so exciting though!

Hi ladies,

Checking in late, but here I am. :)

My workouts are still really lame, but I don't feel bad about it anymore.

Sun - 30 min walk on treadmill
Mon - off
Tue - PS Chest and Triceps
Wed - off
Thu - off
Fri - 40 min Hill Climb on treadmill
Sat - off

I had my 1st Dr.'s appoinment on Friday and he even did a sonogram and we saw the little heart beat, so now I am really excited, it's really true :D !
My DH got me a card, some baby stuff, a coupon for a baby book and red roses for Mother's Day for me!!! So sweet!!! :7
Wasn't feeling very good this weekend, but today was better.
I told my boss today and he was really excited. Now I could tell everybody at work and I think I was just glowing away today!!! ;-)

Hope you all have a great week
Kristine :)

As of this a.m's appt I have gained 20 lbs! Curly- my best friend is due a couple of days after you and we were just talking about how awful it is to be that pregnant in the summer! Not like you're HOT already!;-) My mom had all 3 of her kids in june, july, and august and said she was miserable! I am in NC but it is already hot (maybe more so to me????) so I am glad that I won't be carrying this bump much longer! Where do you live? Hopefully not in the west!!!!!! That would be awful!
And yes, he does feel like he's coming out! Trying to stay off my feet as much as possible and it is KILLING me! I feel so lazy!
Have a good night!
Heather
ps- Kristine, how sweet of your hubby! Thats so nice to feel special on Mothers Day!

Rachel, I don't know why they are doing weekly nonstress tests for you. I have had none and I am 36.
Kristine, keep with the mild workouts and your energy will return soon.
Heather, maybe I am lucky, still feeling good. We'll see what doctor says tomorrow, but despite for my usual constant hunger I still feel really good.
Morris, my recommendations for hospital suitcase:
1. an outfit for baby
2. socks/hat/blanket for baby
3. nursing nightie and robe (if you plan on nursing)
4. slippers
5. 1 outfit for you to go home in(you will most likely look about 5 months pregnant after birth since it takes a while for waterweight to leave and uterus to shrink)
Forget your prettty undies, you will most likely get some disposables ones at the hospital since you will bleed alot.
6. baby name book (in case you are undecisive)
7. camera
Mary, when is your next doctor's visit?
curly, glad the move has gone well and you are slowly getting settled.
For you summer preggos, I had my first in sept and actually liked a summer pregnancy. It was easy to dress in sundresses. Ok, I live in new england so temps weren't unbearable.

Okay Heather, you're gonna laugh....I LIVE IN SUNNY ARIZONA!!! It's already in the high 90's here!!! And we just built our new home so our pool won't be done for another 3-4 weeks. I'm just going to float in it all day! At least it's not humid, it does make a difference. I hear NC is so beautiful.

Morris, what I learned from #1, don't pack everything they say. I barely touched anything. Mainly toiletries, makeup:7 and a comfortable robe/slippers, and yes an outfit to wear home. You don't need anything for baby except an adorable take home outfit and your sweet soft receiving blankees, they supply everything, it's pretty awesome. But then again, right when I got to the hospital I was ready to push. Where most people are in labor from 7-16 hours, so they say bring magazines, cards, etc. Hope that helps. UH that feeling of relief after peanut is born is sooooo awesome, I'm getting so excited for you guys!

Feel good you all ;-)

Hi Preggos:+

Sounds like everyone is doing pretty good. Ugh...Im so far from awashing baby clothes and getting bags pack! LOL But I guess it will come soon enough!:)
Ive been feeling o.k lately. Somedays are worse then others.Im not as lazy anymroe either and I am only into my 7th week. My workouts have sort of been non exsistent though , except for walking. But not today though, today i am starting back on a normal routine. Thats the only way to keep my weight gain down a bit. man..I am so hungry ALL THE TIME! Ive never eaten this much before in my life!

Anyway..jsut wanted to check in and say howdy to all the hot mommas:7

Lori:)

thanks for the bag tips - helps quite a bit. got good news this am - my dh may be home at the beginning of next week. brightened my whole day, and considering it has been raining for the last 15 days straight, that is something! i have taken so many walks with the dog in the rain i am like a drowned rat.

curly, i think floating in a pool sounds wonderful. even if it takes 3-4 more weeks, you will still have a chance to enjoy it. maybe can do some water workouts? it would be nice to feel weightless:)

have a great day everyone

Maybe my summer pregnancy was easy because we live near the beach!
Lori, I have felt starved my whole pregnancy and eat all day. My weight quickly went up during trimester 1 but stabilized so as long as you eat relatively healthy don't worry!
Morris, another packing tip. As stated the hospital has wipes/diapers etc. Pack some toiletries but you probably will take 1 quick shower and that it. Also, you will be in your hospital gown most likely up til the day you are discharged.
