Hi Preggos!

Since I am the first one here I will start. I got up early today for a workout before work and "i think" I feel good.Sometimes I get a wave of something come over me but I am not sure if its all in my head or not.I felt perfect when I woke up and I got a shorter workout in.But after I showered and ate a banana I wasn't so sure about how I felt.I felt a little off.

Anyway, I did a 20 min run and 2 seg of LM.Far cry from a 80 min run:eek: I think as time goes by I will do a 50 min run or 2 30 min runs a day.I bet it will help keep the weight off and help me get back into shape after the baby is here.

I still can't beleive that this is happening! It seems so surreal and Im not really having and symptoms and I was even thinking that maybe the test we wrong but I did take 2 test. They both can't be wrong can they? LOL I think I will realize this is more real when I start getting some symptoms other then not being able to find anything to eat.Nothing appeals to me.

Have a good day!
Lori:)

Lori, welcome! Home tests are very effective. We usually start a post once a week on sunday so we'll use this as this week's post for week of April 30. Exercise does make a difference in pregnancy. Do what you can for runs, your body will let you know what it can handle.

I am still feeling good despite a little fatigue and some soreness in my tummy when hungry(which is all the time). I am eating scrambled eggs before bed which seems to help a little. Hard to believe I am at week 35 already and by the end of next week will be at week 36. My weight suprisingly has slowed and is staying at about a 21 pound weight gain.

Workout week:
sun-imax 1+tae bo 8 min.
Mon-MIS-skipped abs and did abs and thigh work from fit for 2
Tues-stepblast+quickfit cardio kick-core
wed-Muscle endurance(skipped abs)
Thurs-rythmic step
Fri-TJ-sculpt and burn(or whatever its called) +billy blanks cardio live bootcamp
Sat-stepworks +cardio collectibles step

Due 6/1/06 with dd#2

Ok..now I know:) I was wondering where everyone was! LOL

I talked to my sister yesterday, who spoke to a Dr, so I have the low down on what I should do and shouldn't do so I feel alot better about that. When you do yhe Imax's do you do the blast as well? I think I am omiting that stuff until I get past the 3 month mark, then maybe I will play a bit more.

Well this was my workouts this week, 2 of them being before I knew I was pregnant:

Mon- 7 mile run
Tues-8 mile run
Wed- Off
Thurs- 1/2 GS legs and 1/2 SB
Fri- 20 min run + 2 seg of LM
Sat- 3 Seg of the Viper
Sun- 30 min run, GS Shoulders and Back

DO you think your exercise as kept your weight down? I would love to only gain 25 lbs, but Im not sure if thats realistic or not.I gained 32 with my daughter and she was 8 lbs when she was born.

Lori:)

Lori,
I kept the blasts in on imax 1 but my jumps are now barely jumps and I certainly can't do a tuck jump. Morris still does imax 2, I find that one too much jumping at this point. I did alot of high impact/interval work trimester 1 with dd#1 then when doc told me low impact at 5 months, I did all low impact. This time around I am just listening to my body. 32 pound weight gain with an 8 pound baby is good! I gained 23 with dd#1 but she was 6 pounds , 11 ounces. I really thought I would gain a ton this time as I gained about 6 or 7 pounds the first trimester. I still have 4.5 weeks left though so we'll see. I definely believe cardio and weight training help keep weight in check during pregnancy.

So did the Dr say to watch your HR or did you cool down extra long after the interval blast? I am only just figuring out that I can still run but apparently I need to watch my HR to avoid miscarriage and overheating.I haven't spoke with my own Dr yet but I see him on Fri so I will get a better understanding,

Lori:)

hi everyone. hope your weeks were great. it has taken me a while to wind down from last week, but i am feeling good right now. dh and i had a childbirth class all day yesterday. i am so very very excited to meet my little boy. the class and hospital tour made it all seem so close by.

shopaholic, you will be lucky to gain 25lbs total - you are amazing. you said you are hungry all the time? i am having trouble with the hunger thing as my little guy is so high, my stomach is squishede. but when i don't eat, i feel really sick.

welcome lori. you will feel better i think once you see your dr and hear a heartbeat. as for the exercise, shopaholic said it best - listen to your body. i only ran my first 20 weeks. it was what i was used to. i had to slow down and eliminate hills. then, back pain made me stop running so i started doing different dvds. i play around with what is comfortable. i do imax 2 still, but i don't do tuck jumps - no part of me is tuckable. i just jump in the air. bootcamp still works for me, but i am thinking not for too much longer. by far, the first trimester was the hardest so far for me to exercise thru.

my dh is headed out of town for 10 days. don't think it will be a big deal, but i will miss him! i am just 32 wks though, so he probably won't miss anything.

my week
sun - kpc, boot camp
mon - low max, 30 min strength
tue - imax 2, c and w step only
weds - step blast, me
thurs - spin class 45min, strength 30 min
fri - imax 2, legs and glutes
sat - low max

Howdy ladies,

Lori, I gained 35 lbs with DD#1 and did no exercise. This time around I hope to keep it under 30 pounds since I am exercising regularly. We'll see....

Morris and Shopaholic, after how many weeks did you stop doing ab work? I'm feeling great, but wondered if there were any danger during the 1st trimester. Love to know what you did.

My week:
Sun - Off
Mon - KickMax
Tues - Pyramid Upper
Wed - StepBlast
Thurs - Coremax 2, Stretchmax
Fri - Imax 3 (no blasts)
Sat - Pyramid Lower

Good Morning Ladies,

You guys amaze me with your workouts! I am still in fragile mode! LOL Im afraid to do to much b/c I think something nasty will happen.

Trish, how far along are you? Im just into my 5th week.Last week I took it pretty slow but after reading lots of useful info and getting a Dr's insight, I now know what I can do. I am hoping to get my more intense workouts in in the morning and then walk after suppers.

So far I just got off of the treadmill and I did a 4 mile run, now I am going to do GS biceps, chest and triceps.I just wanted to take a minute and cool down some.

Lori:)

Good Morning,

Lori, I just started my 6th week - my weeks start on Sunday...isn't that convenient;-). I still have 3 weeks to go before I see my DR. She prefers to see patients at 9 weeks, so I'm starting to get a little anxious:eek: but I guess I have to be patient. When is your first Dr. visit?

I read a couple of great articles on pregnancy.org that talked about what you can do and it seems that crunches are good into the 2nd trimester, substiting an excercise ball for the floor. Then in the 3rd trimester they recommend oblique crunches.

You do quite a workout yourself!! I've always envied runners...I could never get into it for some reason, but it seems so freeing. I just finished Stepblast and am going to throw in a little coremax for good measure:7. I think tomorrow will be KPC and GS Legs.

Morris, Shopaholic:

Are there any pregnancy DVDs that you would recommend? I'm thinking of adding a few for the later months.

Toodles,
Trish

Trish, I read a nice print up over at babyfit.com. I should find it and post it for you.Its all about the benefits of exercise when you are pregnant. It was nice to read.
My Dr's apt is this Fri. Ive heard that they don't like to see you until you are into your 8th week but I called and she scheduled me in.So...I dunno:eek: :)
My weeks start on Sun to! I was 5 weeks yesterday, according to my calculations but the Dr may tell me something different. I thought I wasn't going to be 5 weeks until Wed but my due dateis Dec 31 which is a Sun. I guess I will learn more on Fri.

Lori:)

Good morning everybody! :)

Wow, I am so impressed by all your workouts. Here is what I did last week and I am not proud of it.

Sun - can't remember if I worked out
Mon - Endurance for Movement
Tue - 40 min Hill Climb on the treadmill
Wed - ff
Thu - ff
Fri - ff
Sat - Strength in Movement

Wednesday I started getting extremely tired and I didn't sleep well at all, so I decided to take off Thursday as well and I got some nice rest. Friday I was extremely tired again x( .
My workout on Saturday felt really great.

I normally get up every morning at 4 am and do my workouts, so I am a little frustrated that I can't get up in the morning anymore ;( because I am so tired. I know my body needs that rest right now, but I just love working out and get grumpy if I don't. Can't wait to get my energy back.

Hope you all have a great week
Kristine :)

Kristine, a 4 am workout may not work being pregnant.
Lori, I am able to do imax 1 since the cooldown after each interval is long.
Trish, I am finding pregnancy videos too easy but here are my recommendations if you want to buy one-fit for 2. Out of print but available through ebay or half.com and 2 jammin workouts by cia-step-n-strike has pregnancy modifications and is a good workout. I would skip overly marketed pregnancy tapes and buy some of cathe's easier tapes-wedding tape, low impact step, basic step/body fusion.

Good morning Ladies,

I worked last night so I am just getting out of bed and i am feeling a little BLAH today:-( I am having a small coffee though (like 4 oz far cry from the 16 oz i was drinking last week!)and thenI am hoping to workout. I need to get triceps done today and cardio and I don't know what to do!

I guess i will figure it out in the next few minutes!

Have a good day everyone,
Lori

Hi Lori,

I had a blah day like that on Sunday. I guess our bodies are working in overdrive to get this little baby growing ;) .

Just take it easy and do what you can do and if you can't that's ok too :) .

I did a 40 min hill walk on the treadmill this morning. I was able to get up early even though my DH was sick all night with a stomach bug x( . I am really exhausted now plus I have a 10 hour day at work, so we'll see how that goes ;( .

Kristine

This is my first check in- have been coming on reading the posts but finally decided to go ahead and jump in! I am 35 weeks and have gained 18 lbs- a little low but I have remained very active (thanks to fit tv and Cathe!) and my doc doesn't seem concerned since everything looks perfect!!! Anyway, wanted to post my workouts for last week and get your input as to if it looks like I am doing a good rotation- would like to follow the rotations Cathe has but don't have all the workouts, only what I have tivo'd- will be buying more after baby comes (all free money for baby right now!!!!:D )

Sunday- Pilates (20 minutes); Kick,Punch, Crunch
Monday- Supersets; walk (uphill and downhill) pushing 3yr old in stroller! 45 minutes
Tuesday- Bike (intervals) 1 hour; legs & glutes
Wednesday- off
Thursday- Bike (intervals) 1 hour; tri's & bi's
Friday- KPC
Saturday- Bike (intervals) 1 hour; S&H legs and shoulders

Okay! Thanks for your input! Have a good week!

Lori, I gave up coffee with pregnancy #1, this time I am having a cup a day.
christine, hope you don't get hubby's stomache bug!

Shopaholic, thanks for the DVD tips - I might try one.

Kristine & Lori, make that three of us -- I had a blah day yesterday and today. I'm sleeping horribly..waking up around 2 AM and not falling back to sleep which is making me a cranky SOB}(. Couldn't do any work out this morning because I was so tired from lack of sleep. Hopefully tomorrow will be better :).

Chicalarees - Hi! Your rotation looks great to me and it seems to be working for you;)

I am right there with the rest of you! The past month my energy levels have plummeted!!!! I took off Sunday and Monday but got back to it today! Seems like I just can't find the energy since I entered my eighth month, just try to work out when i get an energy surge!!!!!
Shopaholic- you can just call me Chi or Heather!:D

Mamas!!!!!!! Hi!
Wow what a craaaaaazy week for me!
Sunday off
Monday Basic Step
Tuesday Lo Max
Wed. Off because...............

Thurs. Friday and Saturday PAINTED!
We moved into our new house 2 miles away yesterday, so I have been nonstop between everything and Hannah for 6 days. I gotta say it's been a nonstop workout! Arms and legs are staying in shape:) :)

Welcome newcomers! Always listen to your body and nobody else. Also, alot of docs have different opinions, kinda funny!
The main thing is watching the overheating and heart rate;-)

Shopaholic, getting sooooooooooooo close!! Good job on your weight, have you dropped? Feeling pressure? Can't wait to hear if you've dialated!!!!

Happy week everyone:p

Good Morning Everyone!

I am up bright and early again. Man, ever since I found out I was preggo my internal alarm clock as been going off at 5 in the morning. Then I lay there for a while and figure its just as well to get my butt out of bed and get moving!

I am going to do BC today with a run incorporated.I am still a little nervous about those blast so I am going to do 5 min runs on my treadmill instead.

Chichilarees, good job on the weight gain! That is amazing.I am hoping to keep mine down to. WOuldn't it be awesome to come home with a new baby AND only have 10 lbs to lose!

Shopoholic,I have been having a sip of coffee and thats about it. I pretty much didn't drink any yesterday but it really helps me use the washroom in the mornings! LOL

Stepitup, I had another blah day yesterday.I worked the night before so I don't know if thats what did it.I just wasn't feeling well all afternoon, I managed to eat though.I also had a headache. I don't know how I am going to handle working night shifts! I guess once I get past the 3 m mark my energy will be back!

CurlyQtee, how nice...a new home! I was looking at houses the other day but I know DH isn't interested in the location at all. Its sort of out of the way but a nice quiet st non the less, I bet if I got him to look at, he would fall in love with it. Ive only seen pics on the internet but its a new home and as never been lived in.

Ok..enough chatting. I have to get my workout done!!! Anyone lose weight in the beginning of their pregnancies? I was around 130 and now I have lost 1.5 lbs in 1 week.I guess I am not eating as much as I normally do plus I am making better decisions.

Lori:)
