shopaholic

Cathlete
Hi all,
I babbled in last week's post. So now its brief.

Sunday-Musclemax upper+ muscle endurance-upper
Mon-Firm-express cardio+lower body 1=express hips,thighs
Tues-Spj
Wed-stepblast
Thurs-supersets plus timsaver mix from kpc(on timseaver dvd)= a walk to the park.
Friday-Imax 2-blastmania premix+ abs from cardio and weights
Sat-bodyblast timesaver-day 5 -legs and abs plus upper body work from days 1-4

This has been my worst workout week since I've been pregnant! With all of my morning sickness, I still never had a week of only 3 workouts.

Mon- Muscle Max
Tue- none
Wed- Imax 3 (totally modified, i mean totally)
Thu- none
Fri- none
Sat- High Step Chal.

I ate a tone of junk last week too. Needless to say I feel like a cow! This week can only be an improvement.

Shopaholic, Please don't feel left out. I enjoy the varied company in our threads and we want you pregnant or pregnancy-free.

Hi Emy,
Give yourself credit that you did get some workouts in plus I am sure you are running after Max. I can't believe only 2 months for you to go. How is Max doing these days? Can you believe we all have toddlers?

Emy, I will meet you at the trough, as I am a fellow heffer this week!!! I had two birthday parties and a baby shower this week. Cakes and candy and pies, OH MY!!! I ran this morning and had such a hard time! That sugar stole my energy! Oh, well. It is a new week!!!

Mon. 2mile run & power hour
Tues. Cardio & Weights step only
Wed. nada
Thur. 3.74 mile run
Fri. Muscle Max
Sat & Sun nothing.

I hope to have a better week this time around. I hate feeling so out of control with my eating. x(

Emy, I think that you are awesome just for working out at all! I didn't do anything my first or last trimesters of pregnancy with my last little guy, and my two other kids are older so I didn't have anyone to chase after. Kudos to you!
Have a great week everyone!

Missy

Hi everyone!

Shopaholic--watch that climbing! Bardric can now climb out of his pack and play, which is greatly disturbing to me as at times it is necessary to "contain" him....

Emy--don't worry about the workouts. Think of it as an "active" recovery week. Sometimes less is more for our bodies. I'm curious as to how you are modifying IMAX 3. I'm already thinking up modifications for later on. Even now, my energy is so sapped that I am having to modify a bit.

Missy--I hate those bad eating weeks! But what is even worse, is that I am really trying not to gain weight this time and already I have gained somewhere between 2 and 5 lbs and I am only 6 weeks along!

I posted my workouts of the last week on the last thread. This week I am doing a GS/SH hybrid(one body part per day)+ 30 min cardio.

take care all
Maggie:p

Well, I woke up this morning with a cold, and I felt rotten during most of the morning, but once I got moving around I didn't feel as gross, plus I took a nap when Max did. However, my hub is out of town so there was no relief this evening. Just me and my crazy toddler ALL DAY AND NIGHT! Believe me, the house is torn apart because I had no energy to follow Max around picking stuff up. Tell me you guys have days like this so I don't feel so sorry for myself!

Shopaholic, How is Max? Here is a story for you. Do you want to hear about how sweet my little guy is? For the last 2 nights in a row, right before I put Max is his crib for night night (after reading a bunch of books and a big hug), mom gets a smack right in the middle of her face! What a stinker!

Missy, Fortunately (or unfortunately?) I feel too sick to continue eating like a cow. But I still feel like a cow! Maybe I wouldn't be sick if I had eaten better last week. I wonder if good eating habits can protect the body by better fighting off germs.

Maggie, I can't remember exactly how I'm modifying Imax 3. I think I just do the step portions the same but with a bit less impact, but the intervals I do sluggishly and if something is too bouncy I will sub for another move. This is only the 2nd time I've done it all the way through, so I can't remember what I've done due to lack of repetition. I do remember that for the interval where Cathe jumps around the step, I kind of trot, if that makes sense. I am a cow after all! :+ I can't believe Bardric can climb out of his pack and play. I guess I'm surprised only because Max hasn't tried that yet. He hasn't tried getting out of his regular crib either. But he does move things around the house so he can climb into places I don't want him to be! When will this stage end?! I can't believe you have been through these stages 6 times! Do you have any words of wisdom to offer me? I am already thinking how will I survive all this, with pregnancies thrown in, for a total of 4 kids that we plan to have. I am also wondering how am I ever going to get out of the house with a toddler and a baby? Getting Max out of the house is already a lot of work. And you have 6 kids! How do you do it?

Emy, hope you feel better. Alexis had a bad cold 2 weeks ago, and last week I had it. I barely slept and am still stuffy. I forced myself to do what I could but I wasn't 7 months pregnant. Give yourself slack. Do you have a friend that could come over to help you get a break?

Maggie and Briee, how do you do it with all your kids?
We are thinking about #2 but that is it.

I am lucky with Alexis' climbing as she is still small so her legs can not lift over the crib or the pack and play.

I just wanted to add that I wrote that post late last night and I was very tired. I'm still interested in anyone's advice or input, but please don't think I'm crazy!!!

Emy--my house looks clean for a few minutes each day. I am not a neat freak and even though all of the kids have chores, it just gets really messy, especially because of thing 1 and thing 2. It's just a season of my life and I'd rather have the kiddos than a beautiful house.:p .

How do I do it with all these kids? Well first of all let me say that going from no children to one was a difficult transition. That one child demands a lot of your attention and is fairly helpless, especially before being potty trained and able to dress self, etc. Going from 1 to 2 almost made me lose my mind, because I had two very small helpless children, but with God's grace we all got through it. By the time number 3 came around, number 1 was almost 5 and was a great helper--could fetch things and pick things up and was trained in obedience for the most part. Remember that the older children do get older and more helpful and more obedient with training, so it's not like I have quintuplet toddlers or 5 totally disobedient out of control kids or anything. Our older children are so excited about this baby--and will be 11.5, 9 and almost 7 when number 6 comes (if all goes as planned, God willing)that I will have 3 very capable helpers with the toddler brothers and the baby. They can clean the kitchen and bathroom, pick up, mop, vacuum, fold and put away laundry, change "wee wee" diapers, do some basic cooking, put little brothers in high chair, wash them off, etc.

I'm being long winded and can't remember what else I was going to say.:p :p

take care
Maggie

Hi ladies!

Shopaholic, don't leave us.

Emy, sorry you are feeling so lousy and overwhelmed. I have also wondered how moms manage more than one child, so I'm glad you asked. I have been a little spoiled with my mom. She was always there to help, so I find myself asking similar questions. I would like another baby and have been thinking how I am going to "be pregnant" and mother a 5 or 6 y/o and a toddler. I know lots of moms do it; I just don't consider myself that strong, talented and skilled. Anyway, I hope things are looking up this week for you. I am sure you will manage it all quite well.

Missy, I have had several weeks of out of control eating. I have been good for TWO days.:7 :7 Oh, but I did enjoy two pieces of Mississippi Mud cake this weekend. It was divine. :9

Maggie, you give me hope that I can manage. I hope you are feeling well.

I hope to join you ladies next week with some workouts.

Take care!

Emy, you are not crazy, we are hear to support eachother. In my opinion the sign of a good mom, is asking for help.
Autumn, It must be hard for you thinking about a 3 rd child without your mom. Please continue using us for support.

As we talk about anxiety, I awoke at 4am in panic. My period hasn't arrived yet, although I am very irregular. I starting panicking about how I would handle a 2 1/2 year old and a newborn. Space is also an issue as we both have clothing in our 3rd bedroon. we have a 3 bedroom ranch. Additionally, I am not sure if hubby is ready for a 2nd but we are getting up there in age, me at 35 ,him at almost 40. I guess we all stress out.

Shopaholic, I hope we are not partially to blame for your anxiety... especially me for putting these things on your mind! Your irregular period probably is a bit stressful, never knowing for sure when it's going to come. Don't get TOO worried about your age, remember Briee turned 40 in April!

Maggie, Thanks for your input. You didn't mention your kids' schooling, that is more time you have devoted to your family, right. It is good that you still find time to exercise. It is true that the "helpless" age makes it more challenging, but thankfully it doesn't last forever. Although when I'm not blinding myself with my worries and stress, his cuteness and the endearing things Max does are priceless!

Autumn, How is your family? How are your little ones doing? That Mississippi Mud cake sounds delicious. If anyone here LOVES rich chocolate, they should try the Sam's Choice Chocolate Lava cakes from the freezer section at Wal-Mart - those were part of my pigging out last week!

So far I cannot drink pop or eat any chocolate without having severe stomach upset. :( I should be just dropping the poundage...but nope! I haven't really gained much weight but I feel as if my middle is more pudgy (is that a real word).

Anyway...Elyse... you could certainly handle an infant & a toddler. You are a woman. You are a warrior. If any of us can handle it, you certainly could. You are a survivor!!!!

I'm hoping the pregnancy + toddler with be tougher than the newborn + toddler. I should have a bit more energy & at least FEEL better. Workouts are almost impossible right now. 15 minutes into a cardio workout I feel like I may go into cardio arrest!!!! My cardiac output is sooooo low.

Who's baby is climbing out of their crib?!!??!? Wow!!! I hope Justin doesn't for a while. I like having him contained in one location. We just finished fencing in our yard. I got a STep 2 playgym from a neighbor for $100 (retails over $500), turtle sandbox, whale pool, and Cozy Coupe car. We're ready for summer, now if Mother Nature would shine it's smiley face on Minnesota we'd be just fine. We're also waiting for our Pontoon. I'm so excited. We've been lakefront homeowners for 12 years now & haven't had a boat for the last 7 or so. Maybe I'll even learn how to ski!!!!!

Enough babbling.......... blah blah blah

Bad and some good news. I took a pregnancy test and it was negative. So the good news is I can wear my bikini all summer. Also, when I discussed the possibility with hubby, he was excited at the prospect and says he wants a second child. So we are going to start putting effort into getting pregnant . It took us 8 months to conceive Alexis due to my irregular cycles. I own taking charge of your fertility and will start temperature charting.

Thanks melanie for the vote of confidence on my part. Enjoy your new yard toys, we just got a little tykes cube thingy with slide at a yard sale. Our goal is to find a play house at a yard sale. Enjoy your boat, we have a sailboat.

hi ladies! i figured i'd better start checking in with you since i'm on the Due Date List.

my workouts have suffered since becoming pregnant. i have gotten back into it within these past few weeks. i haven't worked out since sunday though as i haven't been sleeping all that well. i'll wake up in the middle of the night and not get back to sleep for about 3-4 hours at times!! lastnight i did manage to sleep all the way through.

i will head back to the gym this Sunday. i do their circuit weight program and walking on the treadmill.

i heard the heartbeat again this past Wednesday and am scheduled for an ultrasound on June 8th. i'll let you know how it goes.

Emy, we are ok. I guess as good as it gets considering everything. Sydney is having a tough time understanding that Grandma is gone. Let me tell you, the Mississippi Mud cake is delicious. It is so rich. Some say it is icky sweet, but there is no such thing IMO. :9
Ummmmm... gonna have to try the Sam's Choice Chocolate Lava cakes from the freezer section at Wal-Mart.

Shopaholic, that is so exciting. I wish you the best of luck! Have fun TTC!!!!!!!!!

Melanie, I am so sorry chocolate is not agreeing with you. I think I would just be sick. I LOVE chocolate. I always have. I found a picture of myself... I was 3 or 4... too old for a bottle... but anyway, I had one chocolate milk bottle in my mouth and one in my lap. It has been a lifelong love affair. ;)

Well, I have had a cold so my good start ended for workouts. I'll be restarting again.

Hey! You have room for a new check in member? :D

Not that I will be checking in with any work outs at this point beyond FEEDMAX-CHANGEMAX or SLEEPMAX (lol), but that's ok right?;-)

I have to say that I had a GREAT night last night! Joey ate at 11:30 and went down with out any fuss at all, allowing dad and I to get good sleep. He didn't wake up to eat until 4:30am and that was relatively painless as well. He went right back down and when I woke up at 8:45 the little guy was still sound asleep! We had to wake him up to eat around 9am! This made one exhausted new mommy and one quite tired new daddy VERY happy!:)

Daddy's mom and sister are on thier way over for a visit as I type this. Daddy's father and other sister and her family came over last night to visit. We had a nice time. SIL brought us dinner and desert so I had to make was coffee and SIL did that for me. I was sooo beat last night that I ended up going to sleep while my company was still over. I felt bad but it was dad's family and they understood.

Hoping to do better today since I got good sleep last night.

Baby Joey born May 14, 2005 11:19 pm 7 pounds 12 oz 21 inches long.

8 month pic just added! EEK! lol http://www.PictureTrail.com/wendymin

Of course there's room:7 :7 :7.

Don't even think about working out yet. Remember FEEDMAX effortlessly burns those calories!!

Continue to get your rest, even if other stuff doesn't get done. Are other people bringing you meals? It's always nice when someone else does these things for a couple of weeks or so.

Enjoy that sweet baby.

take care
Maggie
