Friday was a much weaker work out than what I usually do and I have not worked out since. I hurt myself SOME HOW ;( in the past week and the pain has only increased with time...no real clue what I did but I need to take some time off to see if it my injury resolves itself. It is not a constant pain but when I move the wrong way it triggers it and it's hurts BIG TIME! And the wierd part is that the pain is in my butt! LOL Sounds funny but that's exactly where it hurts! About the only thing I think I could handle at this point that won't aggravate it is an upper body weight work out which I may try tmrw night...Today I am giving myself another full day of rest though. I am already suffering the "withdrawals" of not exercising...I HATE THIS!!!! x(

Other than that...my next doc apptmt is a week from tmrw!

Have a great work out!

Wendy I'm sorry to hear about your injury. :-( :-( I have some issues going on myself. I'll go into detail in a little bit.

Here were my workouts, very few to report:

Monday - AllStep Cardio + Abs

Wednesday - Simply Endurance - 1st 20 minute part (however I did even out the lunges which flowed into the 2nd part)

Saturday - started my own pyramiding up and down workout so I could take breaks and go at my own pace, using lighter than normal weights. However I ran into a big problem. When I was about half way through my vision turned blurry & my left hand went completely numb. I immediately stopped and drank some water, but the numbness continued on spreading to my face. I didn't go to the doctor because this is a normal sign to me that I have a migraine coming on, but the symptoms never come on this fast. However a migraine never came but instead my head was "tender" and I had a dull headache throughout the night. Maybe it was my blood sugar bottoming out. However, I was not hungry since I had ate a couple of hours prior and I was plenty hydrated. I'm just really hoping that I don't have gestational diabetes this pregnancy. I was borderline last time. My first dr. appt is Thursday. I plan to tell my ObGyn about this episode. She did tell me in the summer when I told her I was going to try to get pregnant again that when I do she will test me early for gestational diabetes.

So much for me trying to keep my weight in check by exercising. So far I have been too tired to exercise very often and then when I do this happens. Maybe this was just a one-time thing.

Well, I hope everyone else has had a better week exercising.

Wendy - There truly is "exercise withdrawl" I feel for you! Hang in there and do what you can. Remember though, your body is specifically talking to you and saying it is tired...listen to it.

Kristi - How are you feeling today? Are you going to see your doctor? Let us know how you are feeling!

Last week, I did the final week of Cathe's Feb. rotation less the CTX step day. I have been REALLY working out 5 days per week. The 6th day is more yoga and stretch. I am feeling pretty good.

TAKE CARE EVERYONE!

Jenni - Keep up the great workouts!! Are you showing yet?

All in all I feel pretty good. Nothing exciting to report. I figure there is no need to make a special appt with my doctor since I will be seeing her on Thursday anyway. When I was pg with DS the same thing happened then but this time the symptoms came on much quicker. That is why I think I might have GD this time around and not be borderline. I'll just keep my workouts low impact and monitor how I feel. This is going to be a LONG pregnancy if I can't exercise. Hopefully the 2nd trimester will be better.

On a brighter note I've only gained only 3.5 pounds so far even though I think by the end of this month I will be showing. That is a lot earlier than with DS, but I am still excited. At least I will start to look & feel truly pregnant. Before that point arrives I will need to tell my boss my news.

I hope everyone has a great day!

Kristi - not really showing yet...my boobies are certainly showing and I just look bloated. I can definately tell that I have gained some weight. I did have to buy some maternity shirts just because of my chest...all my shirts were looking like Brittany Spears! HA! For a few weeks, I really couldn't do high impact (especially jumping jacks) because they hurt so bad. I have small boobs, so this is a change for me! But now, I am really starting to feel better although now I have a cold...

I hope you are feeling better. Hang in there - you will be able to exercise! let us know how your doctor appointment goes!!

Hi everyone,

I give you all credit for trying to be so consistent, despite all these problems many of you are having. It sure can be frustrating, can't it?

I had a good week. Wasn't too sure if I would be able to actually do the week I had planned, but I pulled through. As usual, I gave all of the workouts only 70-80% effort, kept my step at 6 inches for all cardio, and modified any blasts or intervals to stay aerobic and able to do the talk test. IMAX is a lot of fun when you're not out to kill yourself :) I also weaned myself off of 50% of my daily caffiene intake.

Yesterday (Sunday) I was feeling like a train wreck, which I attributed to my overdose of Chinese food the night before. I feel amazingly better today, and this has me rather nervous. I did Step Blast this morning, and really had lots of good energy for it. After the workout I began to feel really sick, and thought "this will be the first day I puke." After my shower I perked right up, my appetite kicked into high gear, and I'm feeling really good. I am very worried about this; I don't want to be feeling "good" at only 7 weeks along. I wish the first trimester was over already. I want to get out of the high danger zone for miscarrying; the stress really gets to me some days.

Here's hoping I actually feel like crap this afternoon!

Hi Sandra! I was wandering when you were going to check in. Good to see you. Your weeks workouts looks great. Terrific job!! You are putting me to complete shame, but I am very happy for you.

About 1 1/2 weeks ago I was nauseous for a couple of days. I guess I had some kind of virus at that time instead of morning sickness because all in all I've not been sick since then. I'm with you though on wanting to get through the first trimester already. I can understand your concern though. Hopefully these next 6 weeks or so will fly by for us both. Did you have any morning sickness with your other pregnancies?

Take care,

Hi everyone.

Last week was really busy for me I had two conferences back to back which meant a lot of travel! Traveling is getting harder but for 2 of the flights I had my own row which was great since I could put my feet up. I didn't do any formal workouts last week but I did do a lot of walking. One of my conferences was in Las Vegas! It was fun to walk around and see all the casinos and the little shows they put on outside. The Bellagio water show was my favorite.

The baby is growing a lot now. I finally look pregnant! she is also moving like crazy. On days when I don't have much to do, she kicks all the time but on busy days she sleeps a lot.

That's about it for last week.

Take care,
imani

Hi Imani!

Congratulations on looking pregnant! It is a great feeling to feel the baby stirring inside. I can't wait to feel that sensation again. That is what I loved the most about being pregnant. The only bad thing was DS didn't move a lot, but I'm hoping this one will move more frequently.

Did you get a chance to check out the Venetian? I loved to see the water canals & gondolas, painted skies, and the shops. The Forum was also another favorite of mine when I visited Vegas about 4 years ago.

Hi Imani!

What they say definately seems to hold true...when you are active, the baby tends to sleep or atleast isn't moving much but once you settle down watch out-the baby comes out to play! lol I find that to be very true! Saturday morning I was awoken by my little boy doin' the jig in my belly! He must've been havin' a good ol' time! LOL It's great, isn't it? :+

Hi Kristi!

I hope your little one moves around more for you this time around...it's such a cool feeling!

Have a great work out!

Hi Everyone! Wendy...I am right there with you on the exercise withdrawl! I have been going through it for some time. I have that round ligament pain in my right inner thigh. Now, instead of a constant pain, it just spasms whenever it feels like it, and I feel like my leg is going to collapse. Not pretty! Despite that, I have done the following last week:

Mon: EFX-30 min.
Tues: Fit Mama-stretches
Wed: off
Thurs: Kick, punch, crunch-30 min. Bowflex-upper body (I am not working my lower body with weights till after I deliver)
Fri: off
Sat: cleaned, rested-very tired!
Sun: walk-40 min.

I used to exercise all the time, and I know that I will get back to that routine once I have the baby. I am not that worried about it. Everyone I am friends with (plus my sister) lost their baby weight with regular exercise and with watching what they eat. They are a motivation for me. You have to listen to you body and take it easy when it is hurting-like you are doing (even though it is very hard!!!)

Take care!

Hi everyone!

I too have had a light week. It seems when I have a full work week, I don't have the energy for cardio in the evenings anymore. As it is, I get up at 5:40 a.m. for work, I certainly don't want to get up any earlier, even if my energy levels are better in the morning.

To top things off, this last trimester has welcomed me with constant aching leg cramps that make sleeping difficult. What it comes down to is that I should stand less, and sit with feet up more. As a grade one teacher, I think I only sit down when it's storytime! I am making a conscientious effort to relax and put my feet up more now. If a walk to get milk at the store down the street is all I have the energy to do, so be it. Baby has to decide for me! Here's what I managed to get in:

Sun. Petra's Reebok Step, Rhythm and Moves
Mon. Kathy Smith Functionally Fit Lower Strength

This week was very humbling for me- I learned to listen to my body and not push it!

Have a super week!

Jen V: It seems like just yesterday that we started posting here, doesn't it? And, now it is already February!!! Where did the time go? I am right there with you about sitting down. It is near impossible with teaching first grade!!! I do sit on desks and tables a lot though. I just tell them how I feel, and they seem to understand. They hired a sub for me today, but she won't start till the end of March. They are going to have her come in and meet me for 2 days soon, then shadow and teach with me before I leave. That seems like a good idea.
Have a good one!

Great efforts from all of you despite your "temporary limitations"!!!:)
I hope you all feel better. Wendy, I hope that your glutes are relax by now and ready to "Rock and Roll"... if not, don't worry just rest and stretch. Kristi, let us know tomorrow what the doctor says to you, and take it easy with the workouts until you know what's going on. Congratulations to Jenni and the others that are "starting to show" your maternity bodies.
I'm fairly new to this site and even more to motherhood. My DUE DATE is TODAY, Feb 1. I'll see the doctor at noon.

I had to add one too... the final one. No time to fix the bottom message though.

honestly i only worked out twice last week.
half hr. with denise austin
half hr. firm lower body...

wendy you constantly amaze me...;o)

TY Sunny.

I bust by backside sometimes to get my work outs done. I really do. It doesn't always come easy for me but if I don't do it I get antsy and cranky so it's worth it coz no matter how I feel BEFORE I start, I always feel one million times better when I am done. That is great motivation in itself. I guess I am lucky too in that I have had an easy pregnancy (knock on wood!!!) so far.

I think my DH sometimes worries that I am pushing myself too hard during my pregnancy but I really honestly have laid off the intensity in my workouts. Sure they are an hour long but I have taken out virtually ALL impact! I basically "walk" through my cardio work outs. I just need to keep moving. It helps me in so many ways!:)

Have a great work out!

Hi Kristie!

Yes, I had all-day sickness, extreme fatigue, and serious food aversions during my first pregnancy. The second one also had fatigue and food aversions, but not the nausea I'm experiencing again. Every person and every pregnancy is different, so I don't really think it means anything to have or not have symptoms. It's just reassuring :) Actually, the alarming part is not being absent of symptoms, it's having symptoms, and then having them all go away long before the 12 week mark. That's what happened the second time. I was well on my way to feeling like crap, and then during week 8-9, suddenly started feeling much better. That was right when the baby stopped growing, so that's why I get alarmed now when I go from feeling terrible to feeling great. The good news is that I did start to feel bad again yesterday, and was absolutely bagged by 8pm. I'm also continuing to monitor my temperature every morning. It keeps me very reassured to see my temp staying so high above the coverline every morning. If my temp drops and my symptoms get better, I'll know I'm in for another miscarriage (please no!).

Anyway, on to happier things! How does this pregnancy compare to your last? Did you get really sick with your first?

Cheers!
Sandra

Kristi,

I did make it up to the Venetian which was very pretty too. I walked up to treasure island and then down to mandalay bay. It was a pretty good walk!

I hope your new little one is more active. I am just loving all of the movements (except when I'm trying to sleep). I think she is getting close to my ribs cause I felt a good jab yesterday while watching TV. Also sitting on our couch is starting to get uncomfortable. Not enough back support. I ordered a glider a couple of weeks ago. I'll sit in that when I get it and that will be more comfortable.
