Moment of Truth: "Here's to Love" 2/14/06

Good Morning Susan, Wendy, Lori (even though your gone), Missy, Shannon and EVERYONE ELSE!!!!!!!

I know I haven't been on much, but I have been working it!!!! I have DOMS in my shoulders this morning, of all places!!!! I watched some skinny guy on FitTv squat 405# 20X's so I am going to try to up my weight for squats as well today. I am going to try for 135#. I get to put on the huge 45# metal plates! YES!!!!! Doing cheat curls is really paying off for me. I am now able to bicep curl 30# db's 10X's, all the way down and up. Guess I will need to buy 40# db's soon. LOL! I am not trying to brag, I am just fired up!!!! One thing I can't understand is why I don't have any rear delts. There is no muscle there...just flat. It is all in the front even though I work them too. Very confused about this. I still want to sculpt my legs more so I am adding in more leg work on top of upperbody. I will now be running twice a week (30 mins) and 2 leg workouts as well. So today I am going to run for 30 mins and then do PLB. I will run first because it WAKES up my legs real nice!

Missy,

My house is messy again and I am to clean it tomorrow.

Well, tomorrow is always my favorite day to clean, too! :p So, Charlotte, how do you like running? It is a rush, isn't it? I have never been so high without doing anything illegal! ;) (But I don't even remember what THAT feels like.) I am running today. I think I am only going to do about three and half to four miles because I will be pushing Logan in his stroller. Talk about warming up your legs! I really should have a nicer rearend considering. :) Don't be discouraged about your rear delts. Everyone is built differently, and just because you are flat doesn't mean that you aren't strong. Just like how people say that after they have kids they work their chest and it makes their boobs look perkier and gives them nicer cleavage - not so for me! I actually look flatter and saggier. We are all different, so just love the skin you are in! :7

Wendy, I am training for the mini. Did I already mentioned that I was scared, nervous and excited? Probably only every other post! :D Have you decided what rotation you are going to do next month? You are awesome for sticking with a rotation. I am such a rebel! I make up my own because I don't like doing what I am told and I certainly don't like doing what everyone else is doing. I am not a conformist. (along with the other nonconformists, of course! :p ) Actually, so many things come up when you have kids that you have to be flexible and I find it is really hard to stick with a rotation, so I just sorta' gotta' go with the flow, if you know what I mean. I really admire you for having the discipline to stick with it!

Because it is Valentine's Day, for breakfast for the kids I made the most delicious coffee cake muffins!!! When I took my first bite, I honestly couldn't believe that I made them! They were so gooooood! Of course, I had some help from Betty Crocker. ;) I made the crumb topping, which was heaven, but I subbed some of the ingredients and it was still wonderful. I used evaporated cane juice instead of sugar and brown sugar and I used whole wheat flour instead of white all-purpose. I couldn't believe that it still turned out sinful! :9

Well, I am off. Hello to everyone to come! :)

RE: Moment of Truth:

Good morning ladies!

The day is finally here. We leave for Ft. Collins tonight and we head out for Mexico in the morning! Tonight we're going to the Macaroni Grill for dinner since we have to go down there anyway and it IS our anniversary. :) We usually celebrate on a weekend since this day is usually so busy, but we made reservations and we don't have anywhere to be.

Missy - you're becoming a running fool! Good for you. I miss running so much. I'm glad I can live vicariously through you and Lori - and now Charlotte! Wendy, please don't take up running. :)

Charlotte - that's good that you keep lifting heavier. Hopefully we'll still recognize you when you're muscles are HUGE!

Today I did 200 walking lunges with 20 lb. weights - the last 40 I did with 25 lbs. I also did 100# leg extensions on Bowflex - 4 sets of 15 reps. I did 120 Bowflex abs with 100#. Then I dumbell curls - 4 sets of 15 reps. I know there's no method to that madness. I just wanted to hit a few spots on my last lifting day for the week. I'm taking a band with me just for some light muscle work and I'll be running on the beach each day (sorry Wendy - but I ONLY run on vacations).

I'll miss you girly girls! If our friend takes his computer I'll probably check in. So don't talk smack about me while I'm away! :)

We will behave ourselves as best we can while you are gone! }( :+ Don't worry, we won't talk about you behind your back...hmmmmm???? Will we????

Have a great time!!!!!!!!!

RE: Moment of Truth:

Charlotte - I just love my Bowflex. I know I've said that before. I just don't know if I could work my quads the same without one. Some things are better with free weights, but there's just so much more you can do with a Bowflex. Let's see - you could put it in your bedroom? What about your workout room - is that your garage? Is it too full?

Yeah, well you can bet I'll bet checking in if I can to make sure you girls are behaving! And of course I'll be thinking about you when I'm on the beach drinking pina coladas or margaritas or whatever.

Now, I LOVE my DH DEARLY and now that I've said that, I must tell you girls there was this guy last year who was running some jeep tour for one of the cruises that was docked nearby. Did I already tell you this? Anyway, he looked like Antonio Banderas, but much cuter. He brought his group to one of the beaches that we like to go to. I was swimming in the ocean and when I came out of the water dripping wet (think the movie 10 - haha!) he was standing there watching me. We exchanged a few words in Spanish (since I only know a few). He was there for a couple of hours and he kept watching me while he was playing with the kids he knew who were there. He knew all the locals. All the guys we were with noticed and told DH this guy was watching me, as he drove off with all the other jeeps - and waved to me. DH is NOT a jealous person at all, but it's always nice when a HUNK takes note of you in front of your DH. Hehehe.

RE: Moment of Truth:

Well I just got back from running. Every time I run the sweat smells like ammonia so I know I am burning fat, hopefully not too much muscle. It was just for 30 mins. Now onto Coremax 3 and then PLB.
