Good Morning Ladies!:)
Any of you fine looking specimens around?:) I figured I would post this even though I know everyone is busy and Missy is gone to Chicago.;( Have fun!

So how is everyone doing with the holiday eating? It hasn't been to bad this way. When we have turkey dinners, I just pick potatoe,carrot..etc...and the veggies. And I don't eat much gravy.Other then the couple of big meals we have had, I haven't been eating any more then I normally would.
Now my workouts are a different story. If I get cardio in I am lucky, thats it.Today I am going to try to do a run and then MM.I did a 8 mile run a couple of days ago and I haven't worked out since.
How did santa treat you gals? He was very good here as usual.I didn't get any big ticket items this year, just lotsof little things.I also went shopping yesterday b/c I needed a new dressy coat and I got one for a really good price. Then I went to DH's store and bought myself a beautiful goose filled Tommy coat. Its gorgeous! And a new pair of winter boots but not dressy ones.

Anyway...tell me what your up to! Wendy I got a new coffee pot so I can drink coffee with you all morning long now:)
Lori:)

LOL Lori! Drink up that java, girl!

I just finished up part of my work out. I did GSBS&B timesaver. OUCH!!!! }( My mom bought me the GS series for Christmas!:) I have to do cardio and GS Legs standing work when Joey naps later...

Santa was very good to me! I got a Coach bag and small wallet from DH!:+ }( :7 Some of the other assorted goodies from other people are: The GS Series, 4 and 8 pound med balls, weight lifting gloves and a gift card for Walmart to buy the high step! :+ :+ :+ DH and I are getting tickets to the Broadway show of our choice from my mom! We chose the Producers.

I am getting my work outs in every day. I had to skip Christmas though. There was NO WAY it was gonna happen! I got in Christmas Eve though! I know I can work out straight through Friday now. Saturday I may not get in a regular work out as we are heading down to atlantic city but if nothing else I will try to get in walking lunges in the hotel room. That's what I did last year. It was a feat to do them with a preggy belly too!;) LOL

Glad to hear you had a good Christmas Lori. What are your plans for New Years? We are going to the same party we went to last year. YEAY!:+ :7 :+

The same party you went to last year??? Shouldn't that one be over by now? hahahaha Cheesy but I couldn't resist. We are going to a party that we went to 2 yrs ago.My SIL is married to a guy in the military so he had tickets for us to go to the base for new years. Not many military attend though, just civilians. So it will be a family thing and a friend of mine is going as well.I am hoping to get some pic's to add to my picture trail that evening.

Lets see what I got for christmas.I didn't get anything workout related.Which is a bummer b/c I asked for a HRM and I didn't get it;( I got 3 pairs of jeans,2 sweaters,a shirt,a coat,a new cabinet for my bathroom,perfume,2 games,adidas track suit,candles,christmas ornaments,stuff for the house,coffee pot,etc...see lots of little stuff.:)
You are going to enjoy the GS series.Thats an awesome gift from your mom.I should get the rest of my workouts in from here on.There really isn't any excuse why I can't.
I am back to work tonight for 2 night shifts, then I am off until Mon.
A friend called me last night as well and she is home for a few days, and she wants to get together on Fri night with another girl I went to highschool with and haven't seen in ages.I am looking forward to that.

Lori:)

Hi Lori,

Well, I've been getting my workouts in, but my eating has been awful! I'm on Body for Life, but have taken a break while I'm on vacation and that's not a very smart thing to do. I had been on it for 8 weeks before my vacation started Dec. 17th. I was going to just cheat a little bit. Yeah right! I have to get right back to it though because I go to Mexico Feb. 18th and I MUST be in bikini shape by then. Scary!

Where does your DH work? Must be somewhere nice if they sell Tommy coats. :) As for Christmas, I got a bigger ticket item than usual - a Vovlo (used, but new to me!). Before we decided to get that though, I ordered the Intensity Series + Terminator as my Christmas gift. I'm glad I did that before we got the Volvo! :D You know how important those workouts are! My DH also got us both Sonic toothbrushes. Those things are cool! They really tickle. I hear they're really good for your gums though.

So how did you get your hair so straight? It looks beautiful. I thought about doing the Japanese thermal reconditioning, but I chickened out. I have a friend in Boston who did it and it looks awesome. But I worry about the damage and whether or not I'd like permanently straight hair on me (until the roots would grow in of course) - and I don't know if I want to spend $400+ on it. Your hair is really pretty both ways. It's so windy where I live and my hair can look great in the house and then I walk outside and have WILD curls everywhere. Not pretty if you ask me! At least if it were straight I could just comb it. But I do worry that I would miss my curls. I do like them sometimes. :)

Hi Susan

Are you new here? I have never seen your picture trail before and the pictures are awesome! You look great! My God...Mexico looks amazing.Thats where I want to go next but it probably won't be yet for a while.

DH just bought a sports store but they carry womens clothes as well.I had my eye on this coat forever and when I went there yesterday the girl who works there, convinced me to buy it.I got it for a greta price though.DH didn't think I needed it and he was probably right but you know how those things work...we don't always need what we buy:)
You received a pretty nice christmas gift. You must have been a really good girl:)

I normally where my hair curly.I like it when it is straight b/c I can comb it (like you say) and run out of I have to.But when it is curly, I have to do the whole ordeal before I leave the house.Unless I don't toss and turn to much in my sleep and sometimes it is fixable:7 When its first straigthen its o.k but as the day wears on, I feel like a drowned rat.Im not use to my hair being flat to my head and I am not so sure I like it that way.
I just bought a flat iron. Its a really good one.I wouldn't want to do anything permenant either. My curl isn't as tight as it use to be.I uas to have a head full of tight curls, not I have this wave/curl thing going on.Im nit sure whats up with it.
Must go finish my workout.MM next!
Lori:)

Hey Hey Lori and Susan!

I'm back but only for a few mins while I eat my apple!

I just finished GS Legs standing work and RS combos 1 & 2. That took me 90 minutes! What a work out! PHEW! }( }( }(

I'm all showered up now and finishing my lunch...half a turkey sandwich on ww bread with l/f mayo, a scoop of cottage cheese and an apple. After I'm done I have to feed my Joey lunch.

DH finally got out of bed and transferred his sick butt to the couch around 12:30-1:00pm. I'd have rathered he stay in bed! Now he's just gonna be in my way! LOL :p

Hi Lori (and Wendy),

I am kinda new here - as of the end of November. Thanks for your compliments. I just discovered Cathe on Fit TV when we switched from Dish to DirecTV. I've been working out for over 20 years (well, since I was about 16 and I'm 43 now) and was never able to find good aerobic workouts like Cathe's. I did Bowflex or the Firm for weight training. I love Bowflex! I ran for about 20 years until I killed my ankle and hip from a marathon (the training) and then switched to cycling about 5 years ago. But in the winter now that I don't run I got tired of cycling in the basement on my trainer for months (that's the only bummer about cycling compared to running b/c I could run in any kind of weather but can't cycle on ice or in freezing wind!). I usually post on the <--- thread - it's a fun one. I'm so happy to have found "tough" workouts like Cathe's. Especially before Mexico again. We never went anywhere for like the first 9 or 10 years of our marriage (I traveled for my job and was gone all the time and being home was nice) and then 2 years ago we went with a bunch of friends to Mexico and now we're hooked. We go with them every February. I quit my traveling job, so it works out well.

Lori, you have great curls! People think having curly hair is so easy, but I think it can be a pain in the butt! I'm learning to "embrace" my curls. Hehehe. Whenever I use a straightening iron I can just hear my hair breaking. And it takes forever to straighten!

Good job on getting the coat. We are women, so we don't have to "need" something to buy it, right?

Wendy - I'm sorry your DH is sick. I'm so impressed with your 90 minute workout! And your healthy eating. Way to go!!! I think it would be SO hard to be a SAHM and eat well. It seems like when I am home is when I get into trouble. I'm great at work. I can be good one weekend day and then the other is always my cheat day. But for some reason I've fallen apart on vacation! No more vacations at home for me!!! :)

Susan

Wendy, I forgot to ask you how your Dh was feeling.Whats wrong? Just the common cold? Do you think you will be sore from GS Legs tomorrow? You better ease up! You won't be able to do any dancing on Sat night!

Susan, how long have you been following BFL? I was thinking of starting that in the new year (again) although I have never finished the 12 weeks! But when I did it I saw great results, in weightloss alone. But the second time I tried it, I kept my eating the same as usual but I followed the BFL workouts which was less cardio and I ended up gaining weight!;( Im thinking about doing it again though and doing more cardio on the cardio days.I wonder what kind of results I will get then?
I agree that culy hair can be harder to manage but for the most part I don't do much with it.I let it dry on its own and then flick it with the hair dryer. The falt iron is not good for it at all! No matter what kind of creams you use, its an extreme amount of heat. When i was down south my hair was damp most of the times and I couldn't dry it before dinner time.It was a pain!
I was so excited when I found cathe workouts as well.I was just getting back into working out and I couldn't afford a gym membership. She is awesome and I enjoy everyone of her workouts. We also had a bowflex but we sold it.Neither one of us enjoyed it.
Do you have any kids? I am guessing you don't b/c you don't have any in your pic's.
Anyway ladies, I must get some dinner ready.Back to work tonight;(
Lori:)

Hey Susan. Tonight DH said that he is already starting to feel better. He slept most of the day and has been doubling up the vita. C since he started feeling a little sick. Hopefully by tomorrow or friday he'll have this thing kicked. We are going away for New Year's on Saturday so I'd hate for him to feel like garbage.:-(

Thanks about the 90 min. work out. It was looong but fun....well...let's re-phrase that...SOME of it was fun but some of it HURT!!! lol }( RS is a fun step routine but GS legs is EVIL!:p

I am not always great with eating...When my food stash gets low and I don't make it out to the foodstore right away my eating gets pretty bad. I also usually eat at my MIL's and my mom's house every week one time each and they usually are not serving things that fit into my diet! lol Those meal are definately in the CHEAT category for me!}( I find it so much easier to eat well now that I am home. I have the freedom to eat whatever I want with out having to plan it ahead of time in order to bring it in to work. I also don't have to worry about my co-workers lookin' at me funny like they sometimes would when they saw what I was eating!;)

Don't worry too much about your eating over vacation! That's why they call it VACATION! If I can't or don't watch WHAT I eat then I atleast try to practice portion control. Give that a try when your menu isn't the healthiest. Ofcourse, the unhealthy is usually the SUPER YUMMY which means exercising portion control can be HARD TO DO! LOL Murphy's Law...don't ya just hate that!? x( ;)

Okay, well I've chattered on long enough!

Have a lovely evening, Susan!

P.S.-Love your name! Susan is my mom's name!:)

Hey Lori,

Yeah, DH has a bad cold. He's getting better already though. Thank goodness!:)

I went out before to Dunkin Donuts and got DH and myself some goodies! I got him an almond mocha latte and 2 donuts and myself a caramel creme latte LITE! YUM! They use splenda and skim milk so it's not as bad for ya but it's still super yummy!:9 Now that I'm sufficiently sugared up I feel like doing another work out! NOT! LOL I did PLENTY today! }(

I don't know if I will be sore from GS legs...I did the floor work yesterday and am fine today. Time will tell as far as the standing work that I did today goes!
Now the GS for upper body FRIED me! I did GSC&T yesterday, (and not even in full!)and was sore as heck this morning! Made doing GSBS&B even more of a challenge! I'm still hurtin' and will problem be even WORSE tomorrow!}( I have no U/B planned for tomorrow though so I am good. I will probably do another U/B work out on friday but it won't be from GS...it'll be a 30 min. one like I had been doing. PHEW! That will seem like a rest day! lol :+

Hi Girls,

Well, as for BFL, I get great results with it. I try to follow it most of the time, but usually get quite strict (the way it should be) the closer it gets to Mexico time. :) My husband is 8 years younger than I am and all of our friends that we go with are his friends from childhood and HS, so they are also younger. Ah, the pressure to look good in a bikini. Hehehe. But it gives me a goal. I don't have much trouble in the workout dept., it's the eating that gets me b/c I have such a sweet tooth. But I could see if you didn't change your eating how you could gain weight with the workout part of it b/c it doesn't require that much cardio yet you eat every few hours. For me, since I've worked out for so many years, I always do more cardio. I think that's just b/c that's what my body is used to. I'm sure I would gain if I were to cut down to 20 minutes. I think in order for it to work, you have to incorporate the eating and working out part of it. Before I found Cathe, my weight workouts were pretty much Bowflex and free weights b/c the Firm didn't seem tough enough. But now that I've found Cathe, I have some more variety - and tougher workouts. I know people who have done VERY well on BFL, so I know it works if you follow it. Last year I lost 11 pounds in about 6 weeks before I went to Mexico. I really don't have much to lose now, but wouldn't mind losing 5 or 10 pounds before I go in February. I just like BFL b/c it's so easy and sensible and healthy. I feel SO MUCH BETTER when I eat that way.

Wendy, that's funny what you said about what people would say at work when you ate a certain way. I NEVER cheat at work (they bring in crap all the time and then complain how they can't lose weight) and they call me the food Nazi. They hide food from me and tell each other not to tell me what they're eating - and of course they all like to tattle on each other. It's quite amusing. :D I suppose if I were home all the time I'd just have to have rules. Plus, my DH keeps telling me it's VACATION. Kind of like you said. }( He's usually really good too and he's been bad too. Right now we're having licorce and beer - but it's LIGHT beer. :9 And the licorce doesn't have any fat in it. But you're right about portion control - that makes a HUGE difference.

As for kids Lori - nope. We tried and tried and tried and nothing. It is something to do with me, but we decided not to go through a million tests, etc. to figure it out. We figured if God wanted us to have children we would have. Who would have rescued all these animals if we had children? :7 :7 I feel like that is my purpose.

Well, aren't I chatty? And it's not the beer - yet - b/c I've only had a few sips. But then again, I am a lightweight.

I hope you both have a great evening and that you don't work too hard Lori!

Susan

Wendy- Im glad to hear DH is feeling better! Aren't men the worst when they are sick? They are so whiny and they think they are dying. While us on the other hand, would have to get up and do the day to day things that we normally do, plus blow our noses a million times!:) I think we should blame it on their mothers! They must have babied them to much.
The latte sounds awesome.I get syrup put in my coffee these days BUT its only 70 cals so thats not to bad.I could be drinking alot worse and I need those extra cals before a tought workout.
Those workouts should get your motivation back, in case you haven't got it yet. When I get new workouts I could stay in my workout room forever. And if I am going to watch them, its just as well to do them right? Why waste an hour watching t.v????:)

Susan- Have you gained since those pic's you have posted b/c I don't think you need to lose 5-10 lbs girl! You look good:) 11 pounds in 6 weeks thats great. The first time I did BFL I can remember weighing 123 in the first week.I was happy with that.
I agree that the eating is great. It makes me feel good to.You sould alot like myself b/c have a major sweet tooth as well.I think most women do.
As for the babies, I just posted about that.I have one but DH and I have been trying for 4 yrs and nothing.I guess I wouldn't care if I knew we weren't going to have any but we would like to.And I would like to have one now and get it over with while I am still young. My luck, I would have my daughter in collage and then having a baby! How awful would that be?

I won't be working very hard tonight. Its 11 here now and I am getting lazy. There isn't much on t.v on Wed nights though.I should have brought a movie or something.I am also getting hungry but there is nothing here to munch on.Probably wouldn't hurt if I were a little hungry for a change.!:)
