I am trying to find an exercise or two that I can sub in for Lunges. After my accident 8 yrs ago and 2 surgeries in the past 2 yrs, I am not able to do lunges with the best of form or ability (back lower back, right hip, and knees). Basically it just hurts too much, so we're not going there anymore! Bc of the added stress they put onto my body I wanted to sub in Single Leg Squats and Single Leg Deadlifts vs just FF the DVDs. This was something I was taught in Phys Therapy but not sure if it would be an acceptable modification.
Lunges are OUT, any kind, but oddly enough I can do the lunges when using the gliding discs- no weights. It makes no sense.
