Moderately Clean Eating - March 31/06

Morning ladies!

Well, I was possessed by the PMS demons last night and bought a box of Ritz crackers while grocery shopping. Those things are my nemesis. So, I ate a number of them in lieu of a decent dinner. Ugh.

Today:

B - steel cut oats with banana and soy milk
S - apple and half WW English muffin with pb
L - soup and crispbread with lf cheese, yogurt, orange
S - cottage cheese and pear with cinnamon
D - some kind of wrap in a flax tortilla

I'm going to give Powermax a whirl tonight:)
 
I know Shelley... isn't it strange how we can take or leave certain foods most of the month but "at that time", I don't think even a gun to the head would deter me!

Today -

B - oatmeal with cranberries, egg beaters, 1/2 WW English muffin, coffee

Sn - Baked apple protein smoothie

Ln - Deli ham on WW with mustard, banana with nat. PB

Sn - 1/2 cup plain yogurt, 1/4 cup Grape Nuts Trail Mix cereal

Not sure about dinner yet. DH may want to go out to eat, so I'll have to wait and see what we do.
 
It is so true about the need to eat during PMS. And the craving for salt is pretty strong!

Shelly don't fret. Extra water today and soon this too shall pass. Besides I saw your pictures, you must be very healthy most of the time to look so beautiful !

Jane you always have such interesting smoothies!

Today will be a little different because DH and I may eat out, or not. Depends on if he wants to workout and stay home or go out and socialize.

B- fruit smoothie

L- something with ccei cei beans and veggies

S- fruit

D- ? but it will be non-animal and healthy except for a glass of wine

Happy Friday all you moderately clean eaters. Yesterday made 4 days in a row and I am overjoyed. It's amazing how much eating well influences my attitude and mood. Today:

B - fresh fruit salad, Basic Four Cereal w/ soy milk
L - mixed greens salad, 2 slices whole grains bread w/ roasted red pepper hummus, orange
D - lasagna, salad, garlic toast (not especially clean, but I'll limit portions) 2 glasses Chianti
S - slice whole wheat bread with a jar of natural PB waved over it

Here's clean eating wishes for all of you.
 
TGIF to all,
Day 1 of clean eating went well! However, I did opt for one one glass of wine instead of green tea for my bedtime snack -- yikes! Here's my plan for today:

B: Egg beaters w/mushrooms, red pepper
S: Almonds
L: Large green salad with hearts of palm, beets, red pepper, salmon
and Trader Joe's FF Balsalmic Dressing.
S: Hummus with red pepper slices
D: Steak, WW couscous, salad similar to lunch w/o salmon.
S: 1-2 glasses red wine!

Jane, your smoothie sounds delicious. Would you mind sharing your recipe?

I'm off to do MIS before the kids wake up...

Hi, ladies!

I have lost a pound and a half due to changes in my eating habits, over ... about 2 weeks, I guess. I hope it's coming off my rear end, but I can't tell yet.

Today:
B - lf yogurt with 1 c frozen blueberries; soy milk
S - orange, mixed nuts/rasins
L - big salad. Nothing new there
S - same as above. The extra nuts are my treat for the week.
D - leftover millet. I'll add some veggies and stuff and see what I come up with. Maybe open a can of black beans, which should provide a pretty contrast.
