Missing Girl in Aruba

So, the plot thickens. When I got online today there was a headline that said one of the 3 boys had confessed to Natalee's murder!!! Only to turn out a rumor. But one of the boys had said "Something Bad Happened" when talking about Natalee. Bizarre, there must definitely be a language barrier. But, they did find blood in one of the 3 boys cars...why can't the CSI people go over and help??...:)...Carole

That's awful. I read the news on msnbc.com

I've been thinking why was Natalee alone? That is one thing I just don't get.

Carole, it's terribly frustrating. I hate to even think of it without feeling such angry, strong feelings about these men I see on the news.

I have told my DH, that I can't imagine such a smart, popular girl getting hooked up with these weirdoes to begin with willingly, I don't care how intoxicated she was. Yes, we all have certain rights of passage. If she had gone, tipsy, with one boy for a one-night stand, I'd believe it & not be shocked. We're all human. But for this bright, promising young girl to just willingly leave with 3 strangers... no. I find that incredibly difficult to believe.

DH thinks that she may have been very attracted to this dutch guy, & felt very safe with the group.

So many things we don't know. I guess I just think if she was drugged with something and drinking, she might not have cared if she was alone, but you do wonder if anyone was keeping track of her...Carole

I agree with those that question the decisions to send these kids on these trips. And yes, I DO still consider them kids at 17/18. They are not mature enough to make rational decisions when faced with no drinking age and not much supervision. I read somewhere that there were only about 7 chaperones for 100 kids.....I don't know if that is an accurate stat or not, but I know I would not condone my child going on a trip like this. Why can't they go to Florida or somewhere closer to home? Okay, maybe it's cheaper to go to a foreign country like that, but is our childs' safety worth compromising to save some money? I'll tell you one thing, if my son wants to go on one of these senior trips, I will definitely be one of the chaperones, whether he likes it or not. All that said, I know bad things can happen in our country, too, but it certainly is a lot easier to investigate here.

Okay, stepping down from the box now. :)
