MIO Heart Rate Monitors--feedback?

I'm looking at buying one of these--the shape design that tracks calories in/out and HRM. Does anyone have one that could give me any feedback on them? Thanks!

I bought one probably 3-4 years ago; they were really new at the time. Anyway, it didn't work very well. Often it wouldn't give me a reading of my heart rate. Also, it kinda went crazy when I changed the battery and it never worked the same after that. Unfortunately my $120 ended up in the garbage.:-( BUT, like I said, this was an early model and I'm sure they have improved things since then!

I have one but ended up buying a Polar a month later. I use it for calories counting only now. I have a faint pulse and sometimes the watch could not read my Heart rate. Also, you have to constantly be taking your pulse on the watch in order for the calorie burn to be accurate. For example, I would have to stop a couple of times during the warm up, then every time the intensity of my workout changed. I found I was interrupting my workout all of the time and losing my intensity because I had to stop. I opted to get a polar because of the chest strap, the reading of your heart rate in continuos.

I agree with everything Sherry said above. I have a MIO and I never use it for these exact reasons... I found you pretty much have to stop moving to get your heart rate to register correctly, and you have to do this often in order for the info to be accurate. I would strongly suggest a HRM monitor with a chest strap instead.
