mini steppers

I am needing to do some kind of low impact cardio workout mixed with some higher intensity through out the week. I have the high intensity covered since I do cathe workouts(ha)But I was wondering if any of you have ever used a manual mini stepper? I am thinking about buying one but I would like some feedback on them if anyone out there has tried one out. Thanks alot!

Just a comment - be careful with mini-steppers that use hydraulic canister/pumps to provide resistance.

Many of these hydraulic pumps cannot be used for more than 15 minutes because they overheat and freeze up or break. So you'll find if you read the manual that it says you must stop after 15 min and allow it to cool off for 15 min before continuing (!)

You can check many stepper manuals right in the stores (sporting goods, Brookstone, As Seen on TV, etc) or online (Sharper Image).

I have a Lateral Thigh Trainer that uses a bicycle chain. Although I still use it regularly (after 1 year) I'd say the consistency of the resistance varies, so I don't think they've perfected the technology yet.

Best bet it to go to a sporting goods and try them out.

Good luck!
