Sure Carla. Many parks these days have workout stations set out for this purpose on the park path. If yours does not, simply set up some fun stations with your kids. Make the challenges fun. They should go from station to station and do the whole circuit 3 times total.
Station one: Jumping Jacks for 15 to 20 seconds with silly noises, giggles, or goofy military voice
Station Two: Hop on one leg 8 times then the other leg 8 times (keep doing this for 15 to 20 seconds)
Station Three: Run to the swing set and back for 15 to 20 seconds
Station Four: Leap Frog from one cone to the other and come back.
Station Five: March with high knees for 20 seconds
Station Six: Do 20 seconds of sit ups...the best version they can give you.
Station Seven: Do 20 seconds of push ups...the best version they can give you.
Rest one minute to two minutes (take a peek at them and observe their recovery) and repeat stations. Do a total of 3 complete cycles.
The whole thing including the rests takes about 10 minutes....the average attention span for kids between 7 and 9 to stay focused,
Have fun!
Hi Cathe
I read on twitter that you had done a mini bootcamp workout with your kids in the park. I would love to do something like this with my kids but I'm at a total loss. Would it be possible to get more information about the workout you did?
Thanks so much,
Carla
