Wow, this is sure a good one...anybody else have it? Just did it for the first time this morning, and I think it's an excellent complement to Cathe. It's an hour, uses 2 med balls (4 and 6 pounds) for about the first 20 minutes or so, then an (18-lb) body bar for the next 20 minutes or so, then has some really great core work/chest work using paper plates to slide out (similar to what Cathe does on the stability ball in Supersets) that is really tough! I think I'm really gonna be sore tomorrow! My only complaint is that it DOES come on a DVD but only with 2 other CIA workouts, making it something like $59 at Collage, so I bought it on VHS...would much rather have it on DVD, but still...this workout rocks!!!
Hi TerryMia! I have this workout and love it! I actually got to do a variation of this workout live with Mindy a couple of years ago. It was awesome! Anyway, I'm glad you brought this up as I haven't done it for a while and I might have to do this tomorrow! I love workouts that incorporate the medicine ball.
Hi Jo! I'm loving workouts that use the medicine ball as well these days! That must've been great, getting to do a live version with Mindy...she seems like she'd be a hoot too! Do you have Awesome Strength as well? Just wondering if that one uses the med ball as much as this one.
Yes, I have that too and she uses the med ball. This is an interesting workout because they use all kinds of equipment. For example, Mindy uses the BOSU while one of the background people uses a step and the 3rd uses the floor. Or when Mindy uses the med ball, another gal uses a dumbbell and the 3rd uses a tube. So they show all kinds of variations so you can adapt all kinds of equipment depending on what you have. I happen to have a BOSU so I use that.
She also has a medicine ball workout that you can purchase off her website. (I think it's only VHS.) This is one-on-one with Mindy and is done outside. It's a great workout! She also uses the med ball with Awesome Intervals which you'd probably like as well! She uses the 4lb ball with some of the intervals.
Thanks, Jo! Yep, I've heard about that med ball workout on the VF forum...heard it's a good one! Awesome strength sounds interesting! I don't have a BOSU, but that workout would probably make me want to get one! lol I like the idea of all the background modifications, though! Thanks for your input, appreciate it!
