Migrains and pre menopause

I wish I could tell you it gets better. I just went to my migraine doctor last week for nerve block injections. I had a 2 week migraine that would not respond to anything.
I'm now trying some new migraine meds now. The nerve block helped break my last migraine.

Awe blast Cynthia. Nerve block injections?!! I have had a migrain headache coupled with nausea, lower back pain, and hot flashes for 6 days now. It is sunny and beautiful here. Perfect jogging weather but I wouldn't dare to do it because the sun makes my headache worse. :( I guess if you've had one for 2 weeks you've got me beat and not in a good way. I so don't want to have to take any meds for it. I'm already trying to stop having to take ambien for sleep. My OBGYN wanted me to go on the pill but I so don't want to have to do that either. I have enough to have to remember to do in a day. I didn't even know that they had migraine Dr's. I'd love to hear how the meds work. Have you tried anything herbal?

Mine have been getting worse with every Aunt Flo visit didn't use to be like that. What new med are you trying?

I see a migraine specialist through a migraine research clinic. My doctor told me the pill doesn't always work. It's really hit or miss. He always knows exactly how to help me. I've been going to him for 8 years now.
I'm now taking Topamax everyday. I can tell you that it has zapped my appetite. I've been on it 5 weeks and my daily headaches are improving. I take imitrex and indomethecin as needed. I forgot to add.... he gave me toramadol to alternate with indomethacin for what he calls rescue (when I have a migraine for days).

I have tried the imitrex pill and nasal spray and zomig none of that stuff works on mine. When I get one its nothing for me to take excedrine and tylenol every 4-6 hrs. Tylenol first then the excedrine.

I'm the complete opposite! Excedrin triggered my migraines. I was addicted to Excedrin and didn't realize it. It was causing rebound headaches. I would take it and the minute it wore off, I would get another headache. I walked around with Excedrin in my pocket. I had to detox off it. You may want to try Topamax if you can stand the side effects.
