Michelle Obama's Arms

I don't know, but the article says light weights (3-8lbs) and high reps (8-15). I don't consider 8-15 reps high by any means! These people are just goofy.

i say different strokes for different folks. i will in no way get her arms with lighter weights and more reps. i have been in the moderate to heavy range with reps no more then 10 per set 2-4 sets with rest and i am seeing change. i cannot in anyway get my upper body bigger but i do like what i am seeing with what i am working with. we all respond differently.

I think Cathe could do that in her sleep and that's barely a warm up set in a CLX work out! :D

I think different methods work for different people.

Who knows what Michelle actually does, but my guess is it isn't any "one" thing. I've always had the best results doing a combination of everything.... light weight/high rep, heavy weights, AWT, etc.

I think it's pretty funny that there is such an uproar about her arms. Around these parts (cathe.com) those arms are the norm! :D

Ditto that! Honestly, I've never seen the big deal about her arms. They look good, but compared to Cathe they're not all that impressive (although compared to other first ladies they're very impressive).

In fact, that's been my biggest wardrobe complaint about her--quit wearing sleeveless stuff in February! We know you work out already! :p

No matter how you look at it it's great to have a first lady who's accomplished, raising 2 daughters in an intense situation, and who WORKS to have smokin' arms and legs. This country needs the example of a fit first family. I just saw on CNN that 1 in 4 children at age 4 are clinically obese. My God. Something is horribly wrong with this nation's health as a whole.

Very good examples

I certainly don't agree with their political views, but I am VERY excited about what a good example they both are with their fitness regimines. If they can fit it in, anybody can!

I totally agree! :) Does anyone know if Obama has quit smoking yet? That would be even more super awesome! :D

I agree with the above posters. Enough about Michelle Obama and her arms. I wish she would straighten up her shoulders and walk with proper posture, rather than slouching.

Besides, Mrs. Obama is way more than just her arms.

Her arms are great. I also agree that everyone has to find the workout regime that works best for them. I hope that their commitment to fitness will in some way influence this country.

nuts man

Just lower your body fat content. If the fat layer is not on top you will see the muscle underneathe. For the muscles be sure to eat plenty of protein. Low weight and just 15 reps? I don't think so.

Have you ever had to stop yourself from correcting someone's form?

Oh crap, sorry, I need to edit this & re-post LOL.

What I actually wanted to say was that the example I admire most about the Obamas is their respectful & loving marriage. I haven't had the pleasure of seeing much of that. I think the Reagans had a deep love, but not the same kind (he called her "mommy," which I found kind of creepy). I think the Bushes did too, but I never really saw the connection the Obamas seem to have (I'm only gonna mention the Clintons to say I'm not gonna mention the Clintons).

Anyway, I think it's great that young people have the chance to see a healthy relationship betw. a prominent couple.

Laura, DITTO on everything you said!!! :D

Did any of you see Jon Stewart showing the Obamas, looking a little apprehensive and tired, getting on AF1 to go to Europe, she was dressed elegantly,simply....and when they got off hours later, they looked relaxed, smiling, holding hands, and she was in a new outfit? The implication.....made me chuckle....
She is a classy lady, but I DO think she would benefit from some posterior chain exercises to stand up straight and show OFF that body!!!

I didn't see any implication. There are a lot of people (reporters, assistants) on Air Force 1. What I saw was a very long flight and she wanted to change into a fresh outfit after sitting for so long in her other one. I seriously doubt the first couple did the nasty with a plane full of folks along with them.

I also agree that we've heard enough about Michelle's arms.
