MI Roll Call-Lunch in the Future??

Hello Catheite Michiganders.

Let's do lunch.

Please let me know who you are, where you live, and what dates you are available for lunch on a Saturday sometime before October. Plus, it might allow carpooling opportunities to get to the destination. I live in Grand Rapids
and am available for most of the upcoming weekends with enough notice.

Some ideas off the top of my head:

Soaring Eagle Casino-one of the dining rooms in Mt. Pleasant.
Zenders-Frankenmuth. Shopping at the factory outlet mall.
El Azteco-Lansing near Sparrow Hospital.
Sundance Grille-Cascade/Grand Rapids
Rose's on Reeds Lake/Gilmore-East Grand Rapids
La Seniorita-Saginaw near the malls.

Any more suggestions?

I don't live in Michigan, but it sounds like fun Jennifer! I spend a lot of time in Michigan for work. This week I am in the Detroit area - Auburn Hills, for work. I have been loving the Michigan weather this week. It is quite a bit cooler than the weather I am used to in St. Louis.

Lunch sounds great! I live in Chesterfield (Detroit suburb). I'm available the weekends of the 13th-14th and 26th-27th. Hopefully one of those will work. I'd love to meet somewhere near Lansing or Frankenmuth.

I would love to get together, too. Unfortunately, my schedule is quite crazed for the month of September. I know I could make it the weekend of Sept. 27-28. I vote for El Azteco in Lansing because it's within walking distance of my house! But, I'm also willing to drive to the GR area.

I'm not huge a fan of Soaring Eagle or Frankenmuth, but I would go there if that's what the group prefers.

Monica, do you want to stay in Michigan for a weekend and join us?

I am a Michigander too. I live in the northern lower peninsula. I don't think I can make it for a get together, as I am really busy. It is nice to know we have some MI catheites though!

Sounds great! At ElAztceo or is there somewhere else someone wants to go? There's always Eastwood shopping mall right off the highway (very easy to get to) with a ton of wonderful restaurants. ????

I guess it depends on what type of food people want. El Az is Mexican (as most of you know!), but there is a lot of variety at Eastwood. I do know that El Az is usually pretty quiet on Saturdays, so I don't think they would mind a group that hung out for a while. On the other hand, we could always go shopping after lunch at Eastwood.

Kate, I could tell by your posts you were somewhere nearby, I didn't realize you were that close!

Eastwood sounds good to me. Then, we can shop afterwards. How far is it? What road?

Eastwood is on Lake Lansing Road right off of Hwy 27.
For eats there is Champps (we ate there tonight actually, yum!), PF Chang's (chinese), Bravo (Italian), Claddagh's (pub), Smokey Bones, others too.
The shopping is great - Banana Republic, JCrew, Pottery Barn, and all the regular stuff...
and um, Maggie Moo's for ice cream.....

Everyone in agreement? The last weekend in September at Eastwood Mall off of I-27 North of I-96 on Lake Lansing Road. Lunch & Shopping. Please google/mapquest for exact directions. Anyone from Grand Rapids and westward can carpool with me by meeting me in the Grand Rapids area to drive to Lansing.
