Menu suggestions

I am having my SO's family over on Sunday afternoon. We don't see them very often. We'll just be serving appetizerish-finger food kind of things.

Can anyone suggest foods that hide the flavour of arsenic well?

Mushrooms stuffed with crab or sausage have always been a hit in our family...

Good Luck! I love my MIL and FIL; cannot stand the SIL and her horribly behaved brood...

tuna tartare or lobster salad on endive as very easy and refreshing. Plus both those flavors meld w/ arsenic beautifully :)

Shelly!

Thanks for the laugh.

Michele had a nice looking recipe for a dip or spread with beans in it ~~~Yooouuu Hooouuu Michele~~~~ over here with that recipe. It was the one you served wtih belgin endive.

I usually do a hummus, pita and veggie tray, bruschetta tray
and a tray of shrimp and cocktail sauce....

*** not sure about hiding arsenic , because I like to eat these....

If you fail to plan, then you plan to fail.

Anything with a lot of garlic in it will do fine. When the arsenic takes effect, and they drop dead, avoid doing CPR to make it look like you care, because the garlic will get you.... :+

Hey Shelley:) I have a favourite spinach dip that always goes over well at family get togethers (good to keep them eating as much as possible then you don't have to actually talk as much; although a mouthful doesn't stop some of my relatives from prattling on;))

1 large clove garlic peeled and minced
1 tbsp olive oil
10-oz spinach (frozen or fresh) water squeezed out and chopped
1/2 cup plain non-fat or low fat yogourt
1/3 cup grated parmesan
1/4 tsp salt
1/4 tsp pepper

-in small skillet saute garlic in oil until garlic is tender

-Combine garlic and oil with remaining ingredients in a blender or food processor until all is smooth. cover and chill

I like to serve it with veggies and little pita wedges that I've brushed with olive oil, garlic and basil. I sprinkle feta on the pita and broil until golden.:9 Yummy and pretty darned guilt free...enjoy :)

Ooooh, Judy, thanks for reminding me of Michele's dip! I actually printed that one out and have it here.

And Laurie - YUM! Of course, the guilt will come when they all drop dead from the arsenic. Or not:p

Bill - thanks for the tip on the CPR. I didn't think of that.
