Good Morning!

Today I did a 40 minute I-Tread. Anyone who does these knows how goofy Grace can be.. she says stuff like.. "we have a nice 35 minute workout ahead of us, 40 minutes to go"...uh? ..Anyway, I'll be back in a few!;-)

Deb

Morning Deb!

Grace kills me. Have you got iTread Top 40 where she prattles on about glowsticks?

I just finished with Coremax 1 and I'll do ASC 2 this evening. I'm sooooooooooooo glad it's Friday. I have a list of things to accomplish at work today, but you know how that goes. The boss will come in with something and my plans will get changed.

I'll bbl!

Hi,

Well we took Kelsey for her walk and it was ugly rain. When will it end??? A funny thing happened. We had a cute fox terrier garden flag on a holder in the front of our house this past fall. It was on one of those iron stands. One day we went out and the flag was gone, but the holder was still there which we thought was strange. DH insisted that someone stole it. ( not sure why they would take the flag off the holder, which is not an easy thing to do. Anyway one of our neighbors about 10 houses down and around the corner pulled over during our walk and told us that they had it. It must have blown over there during one of the wind storms we had. It was under all their snow and they found it when the snow melted. :D . Nice way to start a day! I loved that thing and was pi**ed off when it was missing.

Shelly:
Happy Friday.. no workout to do when you get home! Funny that you don;t know what a Chunky Bar is.. but you guys have different candy in Canada....I love the Coffee Crisps you have up there. We can't get them here. I did get the hair cut, just a little bit longer. I gave her pictures of Paris Hilton's hair ( I know, I know...she's a twit but I loved her cut in a picture I found)

Jennifer:
Raking the yard both Sat & Sun sounds like enough of a workout to me! Pretty hooves? I guess you can tell I have not been around horses.LOL

Robin:
I think we need to be "Melting Freezers". This way we are covered no matter what we do. I knew those hiking pants would fit! Why do we always think the worst about ourselves when it comes to body image? It's a woman thing for sure.. When is the trip? A Chunky bar is not too bad. At least it is pretty small.

Emily:
Wow you did PLB and then Drill Max the next day? Good luck on the 5K run. We will be behind you pushing you all the way! (figuratively of course!)

Tneah:
Yes! You can get those flashes under control with supplements. I swear by Vitamin E and soy. I take one vitamin E capsule and a calcium w/soy each day and the flashes are pretty much gone. I know this works because when I go away for a week lets say, and forget to bring my supplements, I start having them again, then they go away when I start taking the stuff. I wanted to do everything I could not to have to go on HRT. Not sure if this was the right decision, but it was one I felt better about. Yes! get that Bichon puppy! How cute would they look together!:) I love pedicures! I bet yours toes look sexy! Just in time for the weekend with DH..will you also be bringing those stripper heels that you had on in the picture? woo hoo!

Lainie:
Thanks for the info on the workout.. I am still tempted to try it, but I am like you, I like the heavy weight work a lot. Love the shoes. Glad you had fun doing the new "Lost Bosu CArdio workout! :7
but sorry about the ankle.:(

Have a great day and start to the WEEKEND!

Deb:)

Hello Melters.

Deb=only raking on Sat. Not both days, that's too much of it for me. That's amazing that you got your flag back.

Shelley-What is the name of those coffee shops around the country? I know some are in the Detroit area too. It's someones name and was strongly recommended the last time I was in London (ON).

Tneah-You have a FUN Weekend!!

Lainie-Hope you're feeling better and in not as much pain.

Emily-Good luck with the run.

Robin-what is a chunky bar? I will have to investigate at Meijer.

I checked UPS tracking, SNM should be receiving my DVD back to them this AM on their first delivery. Hopefully, they read my emails yesterday.

My raise should hit in two weeks, but my bonus for volunteering was good.

TGIF!!

TGIF, Melters -

It sure has taken Friday long enough to get here! It would be nice if the weekend lasted as long as the week. ;)

Well, the rain held off yesterday, so I stayed dry while shopping. Then big storms came and kept me awake all night. I heard there were tornadoes a little to the south and to the east of us. I haven't heard damage reports though.

After two days off, I get to work out tonight! I guess I'll do some version of B&G and tack on some weighted walking lunges.

LANIE!!!! Oh dear, you poor thing. How is your ankle this morning? That's just not fair! I hope you can rest today and baby yourself a bit.

Shelley - I hope your boss doesn't pull one of his Friday afternoon last minute stunts. Power through that pile on your desk and get the heck out before he can pin you down!

Deb - I'm glad you found the terrier flag! Isn't that cool that the neighbors found it? Oh, and it's me who has horses with pretty hooves, not Jennifer. :7 They're all nice and smooth, and trimmed - you know, kind of like a giant pedicure. ;)

Tneah - speaking of pedicures... I'm glad you got to treat yourself. And oh boy, I sure hope you and DH have a wonderful weekend all to youselves!

ETA -
Robin - I saw that your pants are a perfect fit! Yay! I have a pair of those convertible pants, and they are so cool. Oh, and about your question in the Hater's thread - yes, last summer was very dry. We used to get rain like this every spring - floods, tornadoes, the works. This is the first time in oh, gosh.... close to 10 years I think ... that it's done it, I think.

Morning again!

Deb - I do have to work out tonight. I just did Coremax this morning, and ASC 2 will be later. But I love that one, so all is good:) I'm glad you got the hair cut. Oooooh, I love Coffee Crisp, which is kinda weird, since I don't like coffee:p

Jen - is it Tim Horton's?

Shannon - I'm with you on hoping the boss doesn't slam me this afternoon. What workout are you doing today?

Robin - yay for pants that fit!!! That's great!

Tneah - what's this about a Bichon? I must run and read yesterday's thread again!

Hi to everyone else! I'll bbl!

Hiya Melters! It's FRIDAY! :D

This morning was PUB. I think I'm going to have to increase my weights on a few of the exercises next time. I take longer rests between sets than Cathe does, because I am looking for strength gains, and I feel like the way she does it (with hardly any rest between sets) is more geared toward endurance. Know what I mean?

Tomorrow is the BIG DAY - my 5k race. Thanks you guys for all your running vibes. I'm going to need them all. And if y'all really want to come over here and literally push me, that would be great. ;)

Deb, I know exactly what you mean about the goofy things Grace says. :p Oh, and I've lost SEVERAL of my garden flags due to wind. They just blow away. We live in a VERY windy area and I can't keep them on my iron stand to save my life. I need to move my flag stand to a more sheltered part of the garden!

Shelley, I hope you get all the stuff on your list accomplished today!

Jennifer, you're probably thinking of Tim Horton's (the coffee shops in Canada). They're all over the northeast part of the US too - I've seen them in Ohio and West Virginia.

Shannon, sorry you were awake all night with noisy storms! I'm glad you didn't get hit by any of those tornadoes though.

Tneah, I'm so jealous of your warm weather! It's been "warm" here too... but that means 45 degrees in Illinois! ;) You reminded me that I need a pedicure! My feet look like ass. :p Maybe I'll treat myself to a pedi if I finish (WHEN I finish) the 5k tomorrow.

Lainie, I'm so sorry you twisted your ankle!!! That sucks! :( I am sending quick-ankle-healing vibes. They are guaranteed to work or your money back! ;)

I hope I didn't miss anyone... I'll try to bbl!

Hi all. I'm just doing a drive by posting here to let you all know I have shingles.x( :( I finally put my medical knowledge to work last night and diagnosed myself. I saw a doctor/friend at break this morning and he confirmed my diagnosis. He also hooked me up with a doctor in practice with my own doctor (who is out of town this week). I will see him this afternoon after work and he will probably put me on steroids. Sigh, if it isn't one thing, it's another. I'll get back later for personals and hopefully post about a workout.

Good morning, all you wonderful women! Hooray for Friday!

I missed you all yesterday! I'm sitting here enjoying my morning cup of coffee and getting caught up on all the news from yesterday. Sounds like it was another busy day around here!

So, you know how I had to take my new Jetta in because of that light? Turns out that the dealer I bought it from (which is actually 45 minutes away from us; we had gone looking at Mini Coopers first, so went up to Irvine) knew that it had had a problem with the airbags, and never properly fixed it. My local dealer/service people have had the car since Wednesday, and I should get it back some time today. What a pain -- and now I'm worried that they sold me a car that's going to have some problems with it! Ug!

Well, the scale is down .2 pounds, which is good news. I think I may actually join Robin in the Maintainers section of our lovely group! At this point, I want to drop body fat and put on muscle, but I'm not sure if I should lose any more weight, so I feel a bit stuck. You know how I bought those new jeans last week? Well, they're a size 0, which just doesn't seem right -- it's like I feel like that's somehow a mistake and maybe the sizing is wrong. I'm having a hard time not thinking of myself as Chubby Leanne, and still am sort of obsessing about weight. I think that stopping the calorie counting this week has helped me obsess less, but I'm still stressing about weight. Another Ug!

Shelley -- Going back to what we were talking about on Wednesday, you *seriously* do look 20 years younger than your age!:) No wonder you still get carded, you cheeky thing, you!;-) Now is Chris taking you out this weekend for your b-day? You seriously need to take the time to have a Shelley Weekend of Fun!! How has your boss been? Is the witchy co-worker back next week?

Deb -- I love your idea for the Eating at the Cholesterol Cafe cookbook!;-) Could be a bestseller! Sorry to hear about all that rain. We've gotten some, too, this week.

Jennifer -- What a shame that you didn't get your CTX and that they made a mistake! I knew you were really looking forward to CTX. What great news about your bonus!

Robin -- Remember that maintaining is a good thing, as Martha S. would say! It really is! And how great that the new pants for your trip fit you just fine! I forgot to mention, too, that I loved your motivating words a few days ago; they were so great! Did you have a nice time at breakfast yesterday with your friend? -- Oh, I just saw your post from this morning about the shingles! How awful! You poor thing!

Emily -- It's so nice to see you back again!:) What wonderful news about losing those inches! We really do need to burn our dang scales, don't we?! I'm sending you positive running vibes for tomorrow! Keep us posted on how you do!

Tneah -- How awesome that you are so close to being done with the program! We need to help you count down -- and I wish we could all take you out in person to help you celebrate your HUGE accomplishment! And hooray for the big wig weekend!}( I'm definitely sending you all my positive vibes that nothing will keep you and Mitch from your lovely weekend -- and that fantastic red wig!

Lainie -- Sounds like your improvised Bosu workout yesterday was great! I'm so, so sorry, though, to hear about your other ankle! Did you go get it looked at? -- I just saw that your b-day is Aug. 22 -- mine's on the 19th! Leo, right?

TK --How are you doing? How's work?

Morning All:)

Robin, that is just plain sh*tty!x( I am so sorry. My mother in law has those and the gal that colors my hair, they are painful aren't they? Please take whatever you need in order to keep them at bay, I know nothing about shingles really, but my heart goes out to you.But I am glad your britches fit so nicely.;) Please keep us updated. I will be thinking about you today.

Deb, glad you found your little terrier flag.:) Sounds like you are having a great Friday! Thanks for the info on the supplements, will have to ask the doc about this when I go in on Monday to get my hormone level results. And I love Miss Hilton's haircut, so I am sure you look stunning.

Shelley, Grace is strange isn't she? I hate it when she "whoops" it up during the workouts, she has a strange voice anyway, made even stranger when she tries to give us a motivating "whoo-hoo" yell!:p Sending all my "get lucky and get frisky" vibes your way this weekend, I'm not gonna need them (will explain below):-(

Jennifer, so you did get a raise? Fabulous! Good for you, now you can order more Cathe workouts.;)

Shannon, "giant pedicure", that is so cute. I had a Shetland pony growing up and would paint her hoofs with that hoof polish you use on show horses and tie ribbons in her mane. Yes, even back then I was such a girly-girl, trying to dress up my animals.Glad you escaped the horrific tornadoes!:)

Emily, sending you all of my fast, strong, and healthy vibes for your race tomorrow. You will do great! And yes, please treat the feet afterwards, and make them do the massage extra long.:)

Hi to Lainie-hope this morning finds your ankle better, and Leanne!

Well, guess what? We are not spending the night at the Palazzo after all. DH has a 5 AM flight the next morning, has to go back to DC for lawyer stuff, so we will be going to the show, but have to come right home afterwards and go to sleep.:-( So, yeah, no "wig night", no stripper heels", no nothin'.Sigh. Oh, well. And then next week, one of the guys will be down again, and it starts all over again. I have to fly to SD and get our boat ready for some stupid yacht-fest (I hate that snobby crap) in Newport Beach on Tuesday and fly back that same night.I guess anytime you get a chance to put your boat out there for sale you take it. We will not be staying during the "fest", which is good. Anyway, a little disappointed.
Oh, I love Chunky bars! I used to eat the ones with raisins.:9 I have been dipping into my can of whipped cream lately, naughty me, its the last week of this program so I need to get it together already! BBL..

Leanne! I knew we were posting at the same time! We missed you yesterday. OK, enough with the scale already. Go find a place to get your bodyfat tested professionally and be done with it. You are at the point where the number on the scale means nothing, you are a size zero for pete's sake. I mean look at my situation, you would think I was a huge monster with what I weigh, but I am actually not really.;) Muscle is everything, just concentrate on building that, get your bodyfat tested and enjoy those new jeans.:*

Goodness, what a night. Lots of people were late to the office because of the storms - several areas in Little Rock and nearby towns got hit. A mobile home park was demolished, roads are flooded and closed down, trees crashing through roofs, power outages.... So far, nobody at work was hurt, but I heard that one lady had a tree come through the roof. That's all I know. I'm lucky to live north of the storm's path. Whew.

Shelley - I guess I'll do B&G, but I'm not sure what mix. Probably the original, but maybe add on leg presses and sit and stands, and then eliminate that glute work on the hands and knees. I hate that part!

Emily - have fun the next time you do PUB! I think your plan sounds good... and won't it make you feel STRONG????

Robin - {{{{HUGS}}}}! I'm so sorry to hear about your shingles. I hope you don't have a really bad case. I know they can be very painful.

Tneah - well, crap. I'm sorry you don't get your weekend away! That stinks. Catch DH when he comes home and drag him away before anybody else can! You need some time together!

Leanne - I think a size 0 is just plain weird, I mean, the way clothing manufacturers size the clothes! I also think you are just fine, and that you need to ignore the scale and just enjoy being healthy and fit! You are beautiful!

Oh, Tneah, I'm so sorry to hear that the Palazzo plans had to be canceled! You've been postponing this for too long because of all that dang work!! Like Shannon said, maybe you could grab him and drag him away before he has to do more work! Or could you check into the hotel early (before the show and dinner), and then just let DH leave from the hotel the next morning, while you sleep in??? Sending you {{{HUGS}}} -- you need some time alone with DH, without all the work guys around!

Shannon -- What scary news about those storms! I'm glad that they passed you by, but those poor people that got hit! How are things at work with that increased workload? Thanks for the kind words!:)

Hi everyone. I feel like an idiot for hurting myself again. I am a real klutz. The weird thing is I am not without grace in spite of my clumsiness. I really enjoy complex step routines. I was in a show choir in high school and had to sign and dance on stage. So it's not like I can't move properly, but I'm always falling down.

Anyway, I went to my orthopedic surgeon this morning (where I have been too often this past year) and got an X-ray. Nothing broken, at least. But again I have to be careful and stay off it for a couple weeks as much as I can. Argh. Luckily they didn't say I have to go back to physical therapy--just told me to do the same at-home exercises I had done for the other ankle.

Needless to say, this is a rest day. I had already been thinking of making today a yoga day and doing weights tomorrow, even before I hurt myself.

Deb, glad you got your little garden flag back. Sometimes those little things make a day so much better. Lots of rain here today, too.

Shelley, enjoy ASC2 later--wish I could do it!

Emily, thanks for the healing vibes. My ankle is already down to a golf-ball size instead of tennis-ball size, so maybe they're working. :p

Robin, ooh, sorry about the shingles--I had an aunt with those so I know how not-fun they can be! More healing vibes from me (though you might not trust vibes from someone so accident and illness prone as I am).

Tneah, so sorry you don't get your special night at the Palazzo! You are having terrible luck with that stuff lately. I hope you can make it up soon.

Leanne, yep, I'm a Leo, too. Rowr. I'm also a Tiger on the Chinese calendar and my favorite animal is the tiger. So I guess I'm quite catty. However, I actually prefer dogs for pets (esp. as I'm allergic to kitties).

Shannon, glad you made it through the storm o.k.! I grew up in North Texas, so I know what that kind of weather is like, but we don't get much up here. The other day we had a so-called thunderstorm and I think it only thundered once and had a couple flashes of lightning. They do get some big winds sometimes up here, though.

Hey kids...whaaaa.:-(

Boy, I just finished an itread 60 minute workout and for some reason, it was just really, really hard this morning. I think I am soo ready for this program to be over with. After next week guess what I am going to do? Throw out my scale for good. Don't give me that look.;) I have had it with the weigh-ins, can you tell I weighed this morning, and for some reason unknown to me (besides the few tablespoons of friggin whipped cream I had last night) I am up a pound. Sick of this.I am sitting here with a low bodyfat practically in tears over a pound, enough of the madness already.Do you know I went for years and years without even owning a scale? So after my last check-in, out with the scale and in with a new attitude, I just need to enjoy exercise again and life.I will test my bodyfat every blue moon and be done with it.

Sorry, that was totally self-absorbed. Lainie, I am really feel bad abut your ankle, and Robin, you too sweetie.

I have to take the guys to the airport now, will be back later gators.

Leanne and Lainie, I love Leo personalities, but you guys tend to be really picky and weird about your hair.:7

tneah, I'm so sorry your hot and sweaty night got cancelled. What a bummer. No wonder a pound has you upset. Can you rescheduled for as soon as your DH gets home from DC?

Hey Robin, No, actually the boys are coming down again next week...:-( but hey, whatta ya gonna do? There are things that need to be done, and my DH is the "smart partner" who has to "fix' everything that goes wrong at the company, plus write all the ads to boot. So, you know, things can get hectic and tiring. There is alot of pressure on him, and I am the shoulder he leans on, good thing I have pretty strong shoulders.;)

Oh, Lainie, we know you're not a klutz! You're just having a spate of bad luck lately that will hopefully end really soon!

Tneah -- You're not being self-absorbed at all. Remember that that's why us Melters are here -- to listen to each other when it all gets to be too much! I think I might join you in tossing out that scale! Just remember . . . one more week and you'll be a free woman with no more Mr. Trainer to worry about! Sorry that the night can't be re-scheduled until next week! Interesting about Leos -- I've never heard that we're picky about our hair! I guess I do always hate my hair . . . and I'm picky about all sorts of things. Hmm . . . .

Robin -- Are you feeling any better? Have you started the treatment yet for the shingles?

Just got done doing GS Legs -- wowza! This is supposed to be the start of my last week of doing four weeks of GS, but I may extend it to six weeks total. My DH was saying that my tush actually looks more lifted. ;-) He also told me last night that I'm not allowed to buy any more protein powder for awhile. I only have six open tubs of it! What's the problem with that?! By the way, that PVL stuff is tasty! I love the PB & Chocolate, and just had a plan Cookies and Cream one with some ice and milk. Yummy!

Hey all,

Just doing a quick read to keep up with you busy ladies.

I think the picky hair people are Shelly and me ! LOL :D

Lainie:
I forgot to tell you that I got a Lipfinity on Ebay for $3.99 including shipping!
