"MELTERS! It's a Thoroughly Lovely Thursday!

RE:

Kristi -- I know what you mean about the computer as magnet! :) I keep telling myself that I won't fritter away so much time on-line, but it's too much fun to visit with everyone! ;-) What a bummer about the new chair! Ug! Can they patch up the spot or does it really seem like the whole thing needs replacing? It sounds like your legs won't mind if it takes a few more days for that motor to come in! ;-)

RE:

OK, I'm back. I did a brief upper body workout--of my own design so probably didn't push myself enough. Man, can't believe how sore I still am! I also did the third segment of Stretch Max (with the resistance band)--I love that one.

I'm very tired again today--might nap when Ewan does (just hope he actually naps so I can). I called my doctor's office today for an appointment and found out she's out on maternity leave until the end of the summer--I had no idea she was pregnant, which just goes to show how long it's been since I've been to see her. Instead I'll see one of the nurse practitioners next week for a physical, which I'm apparently due for, anyway. I'm going to ask about getting off my prescription (Prozac) which I think I only need during that time of month, which I only have once every 3 months anyway.

OK, after that TMI moment...

Ya'll, don't be too impressed at my blog design abilities--I actually got those templates from blog template websites where you just copy the code to your own blog. I did tweak my fitness blog quite a bit and added the title to that fig picture, as well as widening out the blog and that sort of thing, but it still was just tweaks and not my own design. I know HTML/XML just well enough to fiddle with little bits of it and not to write a whole page myself.

Allison, don't worry about finishing college late. You are definitely nowhere near old. My mom was in college still when I was growing up, finally finished (with a PhD) when I was in high school. You will be way ahead of her! :) My sister (who's 41, I think, and has two teenage sons) is still in college--nursing school--right now. I'm glad you're taking off work today and I hope the antibiotics kick in quickly for you--just be sure to eat yogurt, too, for your tummy.

Shelley, sorry to hear you're having a frustrating day. I'll just add my Moulin Rouge opinion--I didn't like it. Can't even remember why, just remember groaning through it. My sister said, "Yeah, I didn't like it as much until I saw it a second time," and I was like "why did you watch it again?" I do love Ewan MacGregor (though Ewan is not exactly named after him, it didn't hurt that the other Ewan is likable).

Shannon, yikes, arthritis in your thumb? Could that be a problem with working with your horses? I was just picturing holding on to bridles or what-not.

Leanne, ouch, my legs are hurting all the more imagining your B&G workout. Thanks for the KB workout advice. Of course, I'm hurting so much from the one I have that maybe I should keep doing that one for awhile until I master it without being disabled.

Robin, sorry you are feeling grumpy. Buck up, little camper.

Kristi, congrats on doing the awesome challenge! I hope you're getting lots of stretching in now!

Kara, ooh, please don't remind me of the orthodontist. They made me take pictures with that lip pulling thing on before they put on my braces. Yikes. Hope you enjoyed your trip out of the house!

Tneah, enjoy the post-surgery ice cream. Did I miss something? What surgery is this? Is it a tooth thing?

Oh man, so tired. Going to go put Ewan and myself down for a nap, hopefully.

Leanne -- DH is at the furniture store right now (it's closer to his office than it is our house, so he got stuck with that task -- he's really a saint!) Anyway, we'll see what they say. I hope they don't say something like, "that's just how leather is . . ."

Lanie -- you crack me up with your TMI moments -- thanks for sharing! :) Your blog-abilities impress me! I didn't like *Moulin Rouge* either -- I don't think I "got" it. Btw, are you eating solid food yet??? Enjoy your nap!

Robin -- I just saw that you will be a pre-Road Tripper in July. I am so excited that I might get to meet you!

RE:

Hi All:)

The surgery went well, I am still very, very, sleepy...groggy even...sorry for lack of personals...I read through everyone's today though....

*tosses valium to Shelley* here girl, this will cure what ails ya!:p Boy, I am a lightweight or something, how did people do all these drugs in the 70's anyway? I asked DH about that since he was one of the original disco dancers at the first club in NYC to have disco!:7 :7 Yep, my baby could cut a rug back in the day man...far out...whoops, did I just use a 70's or a 60's term?

Good grief, I need to go back to bed I think...I did want to say that the soundtrack from the Clare Daines/Leo Romeo and Juliet was pretty cool, there was that one love song in it that I really liked and a few others...
Nichole Kidman isn't a fave of mine either, isn't that funny? None of us really like her, I do like her hair though...Moulin Rouge was "ka-ka" to me, and like Kristi, maybe I just didn't "get it" or something, but then again I hated "Chorus Line" too. I am not a musical fan..well I do love the Phantom of the Opera, was always in love with the Phantom--always love the bad boys I do..ok kids, I need to go back to sleep...

Love you all, and I promise to be more personal tomorrow...they sent me home with top ramen to eat...I love top ramen..

RE:

Glad you are home, Tneah! Get some rest, enjoy your meds., and we will see you tomorrow! Big {{{HUGS}}} to you!!!

BTW, I actually did a workout -- sort of. It was just Kari Anderson GO Step Workout for Beginners. I ordered it for my DDs, but I thought it might be just enough today, and it was. I found that I'm still really sore in my right hamstring, and I still have blisters on several toes. I think my girls will like the workout, though. I think tomorrow I'll be up to a *real* workout.:) :)

RE:

Hi guys! Well, I tried to find some workout duds suitable for the roadtrip, but no luck. The quest continues…

Tneah—I am so glad the surgery went well! Enjoy your top ramen!

Lainie—Your blogs are so cool. You are very talented! So, did you enjoy the kettlebells???

Leanne—We pick Colin up on June 28th! Yea! Unfortunately we are driving the 12 hours to WI, so I can’t come home early. I know I am being a baby, but I am an outcast in DH’s family on so many levels that I haven’t formed any close relationships with any of them. Oh well, I’ll live…I’m not sure if I have mentioned that I’m ACE-certified or not. I am actually considering another certification with ACSM or NASM, so I can work at the local YMCA here. Apparently, ACE-PT isn’t good enough for them. Boo. I hope you have fun tonight! Is your DH keeping himself busy?

Kristi—My computer seems to have that magnetic field as well! For instance, I should be making dinner, but am here instead! Good job on the workout! What is the verdict on the chair?

Well, I suppose I should go tackle dinner. Some of you may be wondering if DH is working on the kitchen floor. I asked that when I came home from Emma’s swim lessons. Hmmm, he is working on the lawn. Mind you, I have begged to hire help because I can’t physically pry these wood pieces off and worry about DH taking on too much. The answer…NO! He is determined to do it himself which leaves me cooking dinner through a maze of glue. Did I mention that cockroaches have begun to appear????

Have a great night!

Kara

RE:

Tneah -- You silly head, you! Glad that the surgery went alright, and hope you get some good rest tonight! Listen to your doctors -- and no working out for a few days! Enjoy that Top Ramen --yum yum! :)

Oh, Kara, you poor thing! Can you take a loose board and boink DH over the head with it?! Maybe it's time to talk to him again about hiring someone . . . those cockroaches sound awful! How ridiculous that your local Y won't accept your certification! Those idiots! And how terrible that you can't vacate the Wisconsin trip early. I feel so bad for you!!! But what great news that Colin will be home before you know it!

Lainie -- Hooray for working out again today! I love your TMI comments, too, as well as the one about that KB workout disabling you! ;-) Sounds like a good idea to get off those meds if they're not making you feel how you want to feel. I'm still pretty darn impressed with your blogs, templates and all.

Kristi -- Sounds like that step workout was just what you needed. You'll be back in the swing of things with your workouts soon I'm sure. Like Kara asked, any news on the chair?

A few hours ago, I walked down to get yesterday's mail, and we're now getting BIL's forwarded mail. Yikes! It took me a second to figure out whose mail it was since BIL and DH have different last names. (DH took my last name when we got married. :) ) This means it's really happening -- BIL is really moving in in about a week! YIIIIKES!

We're going to head out to dinner and our play in a bit, so I'll see all you wonderful women tomorrow! Hope that the grumpies have left Robin, that Shannon has a relaxing night ahead of her, that Deb's Houdini pup has behaved himself today, that Shelley has a fun night planned, and that Allie is feeling better! Hugs and smooches!:*

RE:

Hi all. I spent the afternoon after work filling my new fridge. DH had to empty to stereo cabinet so he could move it, allowing enough room for the guys to haul the fridge in. Now he is putting it back in order, which requires looking at every album, tape or CD, and playing those that strike his fancy. This may take a very long time.

Leanne, have fun at the play. I remember the Olivia Hussey and Len Whiting version from the 60's. I loved that movie. I tried watching it a few years ago and all I could think was "that Romeo was a stupid, immature twit!" I sure hope your BIL helps out while he stays with you. The least he can do is some housework.

Kristi, I like to think of it more as a sucking vacuum than a magnet! But I love it! I was happy to see you are arriving for the RT on Thursday.

Kara, hugs and more hugs re: the floor nightmare. Just wait until it is finally done and looks wonderful. Wow, Colin will be home soon. I had to LOL at your sympathetic view of my grumpiness. I ended dinner with a handful of kisses.

Tneah, I'm glad your surgery went well. DH had to take a valium for something and ended up throwing the rest of them away. He hated how they made him feel. I'm more of an oxycotin gal, myself.

Lainie, I hope your nurse practioner can help your with your meds.

Hey Shelley. I hope you don't mind that I crashed the RT check in. I changed out of my grumpy pants and into my comfy pants when I got home from work. We listened to Monty Python during dinner and I thought of you. I've never seen Moulin Rouge. It did not appeal to me at all.

Shannon, do you feel the arthritis? When I had my knee surgery, the doctor kindly pointed out the areas of arthritis in my knee.

Allie, if you aren't going to use the presciption for 2 weeks off, may I borrow it? Things will be better someday, I promise. Hope the antibiotics help.

I had planned on an upper body workout, but after taking care of the fridge, it was time to make dinner. I decided dinner needed some wine and I hate to workout after having wine, so today will have to be a rest day. Darn. Tomorrow will have to be upper body day.
