"MELTERS! It's a Thoroughly Lovely Thursday!

RE:

Good morning,

I am not going into work today. I have a Dr. appt. this morning and I'm just too tired t sit at work. Plus I have school tonight and I don't think I could do both.

I slept a little better last night. I'm downing coffee right now but it doesn't seem to be agreeing with my stomach. Ugh.

Lainie--I absolutely adore your new blog templates! They're beautiful! I especially love the dream one. Wow. You sure are talented!

I'm too sleepy to write any more. I'm going to go get dressed and then head out to the Dr.

RE:

Morning all~

Allie - please let us know what the doctor says!

I did Tracey's KB Sweatfest this morning but ran out of time and couldn't finish all the drills.

I had a nice surprise last night. Chris left to go to his conference, then an hour later, he was back! I guess only the guys who were coming in from out of town were staying at the hotel last night, because there were no activities or anything. So I got him for an extra night and I didn't have to be alone.

All right, gotta go check on last evening's happenings.

RE:

Good morning, everyone -

Deb - hi! How's everything going?

Allison - I'm glad you decided to take the day off. Relax as much as you can and maybe take a nap! I sure hope your doc can help you.

Shelley - well, that's just great! I'm so glad Chris was there last night! I thought about you all evening.

I sure hope everyone else is feeling better today, too. But if not, we're all here to help each other out, right?

RE:

Good morning, everyone!

I managed to sleep in today until 5:30, so that was good. Tonight we have another play -- _Romeo and Juliet_ -- so I may need to take a nap so I can make it until 11:00! That and some coffee this evening are going to be necessities!

Today I'll be doing the Leg Blast Premix again from B&G. My legs are already screaming in anticipation!}(

Deb -- Did Keegan pull his Houdini act again yesterday?! How was the trip to Niagra Falls yesterday? Did you have any time to actually go see them, or did you just have to focus on work stuff? :)

Shelley -- Oh, I'm so glad that you weren't alone last night! I was thinking of you all day, too! :)

Allie -- I'm so glad that you're staying home from work today! It doesn't sound like you got much sleep last night, though. :-( Keep us posted on what the Dr. says! Sending you {{{HUGS}}}!

Shannon -- Yes, we're here for each other for sure! :) How is your day going so far? Has your calf been better this week? Hope so!

Tneah -- I haven't heard of that book before by Jean Rhys, but it sounds interesting! Keep me posted on how you like it. How funny about Nick's license plate! Love it! :) Oh no! How is your hip this morning? Do you really think it was the Valslides that tweaked it? :-( Maybe you should go see your Dr. to get it checked out, but it sounds like it's probably good that you'll have to take the next few days off anyways. That is so funny that you mentioned that you ordered that Jillian Michaels workout -- I ordered her book _Making the Cut_ and read it yesterday! What a coincidence! I was thinking of ordering some of her workouts to see if they contained the circuit exercises she mentions in the book. Good luck today with the surgery! We're sending you all our {{{HUGS}}} and positive vibes!

Kristi -- Yes, try out the Stephanie Plum books! They're quick reads, and so much fun! I think I read all 12 or so of the first ones in about four weeks -- they're addicting!:) Did you get the new chair positioned? Are you still enjoying some non-working out time? Hope so! :)

Lainie -- I'll check out the new blogs in a bit! They sound great.

I'll BBL to check in with everyone else! :)

RE:

Morning all.

Allie, yes, please let us know the outcome of the doctor visit.

Shelley, I'm glad you didn't have to be Ms Lonelypants last night.

Shannon, darn straight we have help each other out.

So I'm sitting here in my grumpy mood, for some unknown reason. Maybe it's all this talk about Aunt Flo giving me sympathy PMS. Whatever. Today will be some kind of upper body weight day. I'm not sure if I want to include some cardio with a 4DS workout, or do a GS. Guess I'll figure it out later.

RE:

Good morning, all,

Deb -- how was Niagara Falls?

Allison -- I hope the dr. goes well, and I hope you get some good rest today!

Shelley -- I am so glad Chris was with you last night!

Shannon -- how are you today?

The supportiveness of this group is truly amazing!

RE:

Hi, Leanne & Robin -- sorry I missed you!

Leanne -- My girls would be so jealous of you seeing R & J tonight -- they studied it this year. Have fun with B&G -- I'm really anxious to try it, but I don't think my legs can take it yet. I'll attempt some sort of work out today -- I'm not totally sure what, but definitely some abs. I'm just a teensy bit still sore. Unfortunately, the chair has like a gouge in the leather that we don't like, so Todd's taking some photos to the store today to see what they want to do about it. I'd just live with it, but it's in an obvious place. I love the color, though, and love it in the room.

Robin -- I'm sorry you are grumpy -- weird how that just sometimes happens for no reason! I hope you snap out of it soon!

RE:

Leanne - enjoy your play! And more sleeping in! My calf is better, and I may start easing back into impact step this weekend. But guess what? My doc told me yesterday that I have arthritis in my thumb. If it's not one thing, it's another...

Robin - I think you need to do PUB. It's one of those "happy" workouts for me. So you'll get a great upper body workout, and maybe chase the grumpies way. We all really do appreciate you taking them on for us though...;)

Kristi - I'm doing well. How about you? Do you know what to do with yourself now that the Challenge is over? Is your body still in shock?

RE:

Shannon -- you are so right -- it's always something! I'm sorry about your thumb. I feel great that the Challenge is over -- I feel good physically and really awesome mentally that we did it! We raised over $3000, and we are happy about that, esp. in this crummy economy. I truly enjoy doing an *occasional* really demanding physical event because, in my experience, it leads to some serious and productive self-examination -- just digging deep to do it and seeing what you're made of. I'm also happy that it's over and ready to move on to whatever's next. :)

Shelley -- I noticed the July RT check in that you started. Before I just launch into some novel-length post, I thought I'd ask you here what kind of info. you anticipated people posting? Thanks!

RE:

Hello my lovelies,

I'm back from the Dr. Of course it's nothing with my throat--just some stupid virus that he gave me antibiotics for (which I'm all too happy to take. I'm not gonna "wait this one out". I feel crummy enough, thank you very much). My Dr. is a family friend and is well aware of what's going on with my parents so of course he brought it up....and I broke down. Get this--he actually wrote me a doctors note to take 2 weeks off of work until July 3rd. I'm not going to hand it in. That's the last thing my sister and dad need (they're my bosses)--my bailing out on the office for two weeks. It was nice to know that he thought I deserved it though.

So I'm back home. I'm not sure what to do today. Even though I "called in sick to work" I want to workout. I've only worked out one day this week and I want to get back into it. I'm supposed to do one of the Hardcore Extreme workouts but I really don't want to. It's just so hard. Plus, I need to do abs and make up for missing doing bi's and tri's yesterday. We'll see how much ofall that/what I can get done.

Be back later. Sorry for not talking about anything but myself. :(

p.s. I just got off the phone with my Mom. So awkward.

Allison

RE:

Hola chicas! Everyone chipper??? Ya know that device the orthodontist has to put in your mouth to keep your lips off of your teeth? It makes you smile extremely wide in a cartoon character sort of way? I think I need one of those. I think that would make me feel better. I would be forced to smile, right?

Robin—Change your pants and eat some freakin’ chocolate!

Shelley—I am glad Chris was with you last night! Do you like that workout? I have read mixed reviews on it.

Allie—Let us know what happens at the doc, OK? Take care!

Shannon—OK, oh wise one, no sadness here today. I have gone a bit over the edge, but in a mad sort of way, not sad! I love your straightforward approach to situations. It is refreshing. I wish you lived closer!

Tneah—How is your hip??? I am sorry it is giving you problems! Thank you so much for the tips on how to use the products. Emma was so excited about my goodies and my skin looks better today! I swear it! THANK YOU!!! That Jillian Michael’s workout sounds interesting and fun. I like her personality.

Deb—Hi! How is everything going? Is Keegan doing well? How was the trip yesterday?

Leanne—Have fun at the play tonight! I have made a resolution to begin reading more and love all of the suggestions you give. I am going to check out the Plum books as well. Thanks!

Kristi—How are you feeling this morning? Enjoy your workout if you feel up to it!

So, I am playing hooky today and heading out somewhere. Yes, gas is $4 a gallon, but I don’t care! I need to leave. The glue, paint, mortar, cement board, and bleach fumes are getting to me! I will check in with y’all this afternoon. Bye!

Kara

RE:

Hi everyone. I just wanted to say "hi" and I'll bbl to chat more. I need to do my workout and stop procrastinating. I'm still in great pain from Monday's kettlebell workout (!) but it's mainly my lower body that's dying, so I think I'll do an upper body workout and then a segment of Stretch Max or something.

Back in a bit.

RE:

Hi All!:) I just took my valium before my surgery, waiting for DH to get out of the shower to take me. How did people take these things all the time? I feel like I want to go back to bed!

I loved Kara's description of the dentists mouth thing they put in for impressions, yes, you do have this wide cartoonish smile!:7 Yep, kinda like that in fact.

Hugs to all this morning, might be back later one this afternoon to check in....good Allison, its nothing really serious, I am very relieved.:) I wish I had your sweet and kind doctor, those are hard to find.
Shelley, so glad Chris was able to spend time with you last night, funny, I thought about you too! Did you feel all of our "thinking of Shelley vibes" yesterday?:)

Leanne, oh what fun, R&J is my favorite, you do need a nap though, you still get up really early!I actually enjoyed that workout, strange for me because I am really picky about who I work out to.

Deb, hey girl, how is little Keegan this morning?:)

Robin, sending cartoonish dental smiles your way!:7

Lainie, I loved your blog, I posted last night...so talented.

Kristi, how's the muscles feeling this morning?

Shannon, oh no! Arthritis is a bitch, I am so sorry to hear about your thumb...does it hurt when you bend it?

Ok, gotta go, sheesh I am stoned.:p

RE:

Hey kids~

Oh, this day is turning out to be very frustrating. I should have saved my kickboxing for later.

Allie - I'm glad you got some antibiotics for your throat! And what a lovely doctor you have! I think you should rest, or just do something very light.

Shannon - sorry to hear about the thumb. Does it give you much pain?

Leanne - OOooooooh, I love Romeo & Juliet! Have you seen the one with Leo and Claire Danes? I loved that version.

Robin - quit bein' grumpy!;) Actually, I'm pretty grumpy too, so we can be the grumpy twins.

Kristi - sorry to hear about the damage to your chair! I hate when stuff like that happens. If you go to the July RT check-in, you can get an idea of what people are posting.

Kara - enjoy your free day! Breathe the clean air! Too soon you'll be back to the glue and bleach. Blech.

Lainie - the blog looks great! My legs are still sore from Monday's workout too! Running last night and kickboxing today were interesting.

Tneah - sending happy surgery vibes. I had to take valium once because of a back injury. It still hurt but I didn't care:p

RE:

Tneah -- Glad you liked the new JM workout. Maybe I'll order it. I need to do something to budge off this fat that's depressing the heck out of me again today. Good luck today, you poor thing! We'll be sending you our no-pain-in-the-teeth vibes! :)

Shannon -- Arthritis in your thumb?? How awful! Is it from all the typing you do at work? Are there any treatments for it, or will you need physical therapy? Maybe retire early and spend your time traveling and riding horses?;-)

Allie -- You poor thing! I hope those antibiotics kick in soon so you can start feeling better. Can you maybe take just *one* week off of work? Since you work with your dad and sister everyday, perhaps the change would be good for you. Don't work out today if you're still feeling lousy. If you decide to, can you pull out a workout that is not super-intense, but that's still fun? What's your favorite workout to do when you're low energy? {{{HUGS}}}!!!

Robin -- Are you feeling any better? Are the grumpies leaving? How did dinner turn out last night?:9

Kara -- Great idea about the mouth device! :) Hey, I didn't know what you were ACE-certified! Did you mention that before and I just spaced on it? That is so cool! Yes, go have fun today and don't feel guilty at all! You've been working so hard on all that dang remodeling that you need to go have a fun break! Now when does Colin get back? Is it one or two more weeks? Is there any way you could cut your visit to Wisconsin a bit short?

Kristi -- Oh no about your lovely new chair! If you decide to have them exchange it, will you have to wait awhile to get a new one? Yes, R&J should be fun tonight! We've never seen a live production of it, so it'll be interesting. I've taught our Shakespeare class a couple of times, and so am familiar with a lot of the film versions. How great that you were able to raise so much money!

Lainie -- Glad you'll be able to get back into the swing of your workouts! I read your post about Daddy Bob! It made me tear up!

Shelley -- Sorry your workout was a disappointment. :-( Is tomorrow your half-day still? Yes, I LOVE that version of R&J! Baz Lurhmann (sp?) is so great! Our friends Paul and Pete got us to watch his _Moulin Rouge_ a couple of years ago, and I loved that, too. Are you doing a bit better today? Sending you {{{HUGS}}}!

RE:

Hi Leanne - I'm okay today. Not really measurably better and it doesn't help that it's frustrating as hell at work today. I haven't seen Moulin Rouge, but I don't like Nicole Kidman at ALL. Yup. I have half-day Fridays until the second weekend in October!

RE:

Hey Shelley -- So sorry that you're still feeling blue! Just go easy on yourself, OK? I know that I'm always super depressed the week leading up to any special landmarks, and then I am for a few days afterwards, too. Did you see my one post from yesterday about not beating yourself up? Please try not to do it! :) Yes, I don't like Nicole Kidman either, but Ewan McGregor made that one worth seeing! ;-) Hooray for those half-days until October! How cool!

RE:

Hi, girls,
Kara -- LOL at the mental picture of your cartoon smile. Those things are so comfy, too. :) Enjoy your escape today! Let us know what you do!

Tneah -- how it the hip today? I hope it's not the versaslides doing it, and I hope it passes quickly! Does Advil and ice help at all? I hope your surgery goes well, and that you recover VERY quickly!

Allie -- Hang in there! Take advantage of the chance to rest.

Shelley -- I'm sorry your day is not going well! I saw your add'l posts on the July RT thread & posted accordingly. That modern-day R&J is great -- my DD really loves it. She fancies herself somewhat of a R&J expert because she is one of few in her grade who really likes & "gets" Shakespeare. :)

Leanne -- don't be depressed!!! You are awesome and fit and strong and kind and NOT fat! I understand, though -- I'm sorry it's getting you down today! Sadly, I think we will have to wait another 2-3 months on the chair because it was a special order. :(

Robin -- just sending you some smiles to lift the grumpies.:) :)

Okay, I MUST get away from this computer. It's like a magnet. I have so much to do downstairs. I just came up here to get the elliptical guy's phone number so he could give me today's runaround about why my motor is still not here -- "it'll be her tomorrow for sure." yeah, whatever! At least my legs are still too sore to use it!

See y'all in a bit.
