Cathlete
Good Morning,

Just finished the I-Tread Drill workout.. not bad, I like the format but for some reason I don;t burn as many calories as I would like to, and I am going as fast as I can?? maybe the drills aren;t as intense as others.

BB in a bit...

Deb

Hey, I'm back,

It's raining here :-( I hope it stops before I have to take Kelsey for a walk. Anyone have any exciting plans for the weekend?

Robin:
No DH went US Airways, not American. I am glad all went well in the flying part because he is not a good traveller..and has no patience with the cr*p that airlines pull these days. Glad you did not end up going in to work yesterday.

Jennifer:
More snow? x( ..Please don;t send it this way!. Glad the "mousers" didn;t find any more "gifts" for you!

Shannon:
I have never been anywhere where there was a tornado.. Hopefully all is safe..how are the horses when this stuff is going on?

Tneah:
Yes I get that "organizing" bug every spring..I just wish I could give more stuff to the Salvation Army or AmVets.. I have the "I may need this someday" bug too and it's hard for me to part with anything I think I might wear some day. Even if I have not worn it in 10 years! Good for you for going for that facial! How nice that will be and have fun at the show...I only have seen him on Regis & Kelly..he is pretty funny.:7

Lainie:
I think you did too much the day before yesterday.. your ankle needs a real rest. Is it taped up? Maybe that would help. I am holding back from going over to your blog and looking at those workout sheets! I don;t want to be tempted to buy anything else until STS gets here. I think I am buying the pull up thing, med ball, maybe weighted vest etc.

Emily:
Kickbox and Jumpsnap? Wow that's great! Be careful with the Piriformis...is it the kickbox or the new jumping that may have aggravated it? I only had that once and it is a killer.. thankfully the stretchs worked for me and it did not come back.

Waving "Hi" to Leanne!

Have a great day ,

Deb :)

Morning melters.

Deb, I think we are to have rain here today too. And all weekend. That's OK, since my exciting plans are to work. We are going out to dinner on Saturday as a belated birthday treat for a friend. We are going to a place that specializes in ribs. Yum.

So yesterday was so nice, DH and I went to a not-to-far-away wildlife preserve kind of place for a picnic and little walk. On the way home we got a flat tire. For some reason he couldn't remember, DH had taken the jack and tire iron out of his car! So there we were with a spare and no way to put it on. Luckily, his buddy was home and 30 minutes later he was there with his floor jack to help.

I took my last antiviral this morning and hope to have enough energy to attempt a workout this evening. I really need to do something lower body, but also feel the need for cardio, so I think I'll get out 4DS and do the Kickbox/leg workout.

Have a wonderful Friday all. I'll be back later to check on the rest of you lovely ladies.

Morning all... well, Aunt Flo arrived, so PMS is over and I feel human again. I'm sorry I haven't been around this week, but I wouldn't have been great company.

Anyway, I got my carcass out of bed this morning for the first time this week and did Gin Miller's Intense Moves. What a sweatfest! I really like it! Then I did Coremax 2, which is my fave coremax. Love the stability ball.

Deb - it's raining here too and it's supposed to all weekend. Well, at least we don't have to shovel it, right?

Robin - that doesn't sound like your DH at all! Wow. Did you tease him about it or would that not have been wise?

Okay, off to the shower with my sweaty self. I'll bbl.

Shelley, actually, I was quite proud of myself for not getting bent out of shape and snotty. I teased him gently and he was fine.

Hello Melters.

Happy Friday!!

Deb-Yes, more snow on Sunday after possiblity of tornados today.
Seville and Madrid are great and do better than traps.

Shelley-Glad you're back.

Tneah-what's your weekend plans?

Robin-are you feeling better?

my workouts for the weekend are: HCE #2 or #3, haven't previewed 3 yet and CM #3.

Have a Great Friday!!

Happy Friday, Melters!

How is everybody today? Hopefully today will just fly by so we can all get busy weekending it! Except for Robin... poor you! Your work schedule would drive me nuts.

Deb - I guess everybody is getting lots of rain! Mother Nature is on a tear, isn't she? We didn't get the horrific rains at home that so much of the state got. But when bad weather comes, the horses just endure it! They take shelter in the barn and wait it out, and after all these years, there's never been an accident or anything, thank goodness.

Robin - what a nice way to spend your day off... the picnic, I mean. I sure am glad your friend was home to help out with the flat tire! Good luck with your workout today!

Shelley - so now you get to go home and put on your comfy clothes this evening! Oh boy! I'm glad you're feeling better, and I'm glad you're back.

Jennifer - snow and then tornadoes? Oh my, what a terrible combination!

Well, our weather has cleared out, finally. But now we have to deal with the aftermath and major flooding. I heard this morning that 2/3 of the counties have been declared disaster areas because of it! The area where I live is fine... thank heavens we don't live near a river.

I enjoyed GSL last night, but that calf work may have been a bit much after all the jumping with Imax 2 the other day. Everything seems okay, but there are a few minor warning signs. Today is a rest day!

Happy Friday, everyone!

I woke up at 5:00 this morning (even though the alarm isn't set to go off until 6:00), and finally got up after twenty minutes of lying there. Well, I'm up .2 pounds, but my body fat has dropped a bit. This was my first week not counting calories, though, so I think I'm doing well. I can tell that I'm also retaining some water since my rings are tight (and b/c we had some microwave kettle korn last night while watching The Office!), so I'm not stressing too much.

I was going to do that rest week, but I really want to extend my GS rotation for two more weeks, so that I do it for six weeks total. So today will be GS Legs, and then I can take the day off from work! (This week has been *much* slower with work, which is wonderful!) I have to run some errands, and then at noon some friends from work are meeting for lunch at a cute little cafe at the beach to celebrate the 50th b-day of one of them. Should be fun!

Deb -- Glad that you took yesterday off from work! Will you take today off, too? As much as I love my DH, I always like it when he's gone for a few days so I can have the house to myself!;-) Hope that that rain gets better!

Shannon -- How scary with all that bad weather that you're getting! Was everyone in your area alright after that tornado warning? When we lived in Indiana for three years, we had a few of those and they were so scary. I'm from CA, so the earthquakes don't bother me, but those tornados sure did! Is the weather better today?

Tneah -- How was the Carrot-top show last night? The facials yesterday sound wonderful! And oh my gosh -- today is your LAST check in with Mr. Trainer!!! WOW!!! How exciting is that! Will you let us know what he says? And, seriously, you have worked SOOO hard these last 12 weeks that this last week shouldn't interfere with your thoughts about how well you've done!

Shelley -- Sorry that PMS was so bad this week! We've missed you! So I'm dying to know -- did you go back and get those sexy jeans from the Gap? You definitely need them!;-)

Jennifer -- Ug for more snow! How did you like LM last night? Have you done it before? It's one of my favorite workouts! CM 3 is such a killer!

TK -- How has work been? Have you been doing any quilting or sewing lately?

Robin -- Sounds like you had a nice day off yesterday, despite that flat tire! Are you feeling better? How great that today is your last day on the medicine! Are you working today?

Emily -- I've been looking at the Jump Snap, so it's nice to hear that it's good! (Like I need more fitness equipment!) I have a few of those Rope Sport DVD's and they're pretty fun; I stopped using them, though, because, even though I have a jumping mat, my jump rope started snagging my carpet in the bedroom where I work out. The Jump Snap looks like it would solve that problem!

Lainie -- What a cool dream you had! Did you find out any more good gossip about your priest's upcoming marriage after meeting your friend for coffee? Sorry that your ankle is acting up again!

Happy Friday, Melters! :D

I did L&G this morning, hoping to get some blood flowing to my butt. :p I didn't have any pain while doing the workout, other than the usual lactic acid burn, so that's good. The worst thing for me, when my piriformis is acting up, is sitting at my desk all day long. Ugh.

Deb, I hope the rain went away for your walk! As for my piriformis, it was spasming during some of the kickbox. But I think it may actually be related to the race I ran last Saturday. I had been a little achey all week since the race, and the kickboxing just kind of sent it over the edge. *ahem* I reeeeeally shouldn't have ran as hard as I did. It's just so hard to "take it easy" when you're in a race, ya know? I think now I know I'm really not ready to run races.

Robin, I'm sure someday you'll look back on the flat tire incident and laugh. ;)

Shelley, I'm glad PMS is over! That Gin Miller workout sounds great!

Jennifer, have fun with HCE!

Shannon, definitely heed those warning signs! Glad you're taking a rest day.

Leanne, what do you think of the RopeSport workouts? Do they get your heart rate up pretty good?

Hey All!

Well, Carrot-top was a smashing success last night, I have seen him 5 times already!:) :) He is super buff and works out like a fiend-boy does it show.:p The boys loved him too so it was nice to take them along. The facials were good, I just hate paying up the whazzo for them, on the strip everything is super expensive.
The boys are leaving today, Mitch's daughter will be here until Sunday...

This morning is the last check-in. This week sucked for me, totally sucked. I am up another pound, but whatever, I am happy to start a maintenance program now and rest for a bit. I need to get my head in order again...so tired both physically and mentally.

Deb, the drills sound like fun? Hope the rain stops soon, although I ten tend to love the rain, being from Seattle and all.

Robin, how nice of you not to tease your forgetful DH.
;) I know Mitch hates it when he messes something up, but I try and resist getting too mad at him, even though when I mess up, he gets all drama on me!

Shelley, thank god Flo arrived. Whew. Sounds like a great workout, I have always like Gin and her personality.

Jennifer, again, can I borrow your cats? We have this mouse or something living in our walls that we can actually hear scratching around, its sooo gross.

Shannon, watch that calf honey. Glad you are taking a rest day!

Emily, my own piriformis was acting a fool yesterday, it hurts the most when I sit too.

Leanne, congrats on the fat loss, remember that is what matters right?

OK, off to take the pics and write my summary to Mr. Trainer man and then go workout. I think I might take the whole weekend off and start anew on Monday after the house is finally cleared out. BBL..

Hi everyone. I just got back from a meeting at the elementary school for Kindergarten parents (about how they place kids in different classes in 1st grade). I don't feel so well today. I'm just tired and achy and my stomach is a bit upset. I think I just didn't get enough sleep last night. DH got home late and after I'd gone to lie down he asked me to get up again to print something off my computer (he's having a lot of trouble with his work laptop). Then he was up well before the crack of dawn to go catch a plane to Toronto. It's his first time to Canada, actually. He'll be back tonight so it's not a long trip.

Anyway, so my sleep was rather disturbed and I also had my usual round of freaky dreams (this one included some strange architecture, violence, college classes until I remembered I already graduated, and an evil roommate). I am way behind on writing this stuff on my dream blog. I would really rather be asleep right now (and who wouldn't, with my action-packed sci-fi sort of dreamland) but I have to go pick up Ewan at 11:30.

The ankle still hurts and it's still swollen and a bit greenish. I feel so blah today that I'm considering just declaring the remainder of this week a wash and resting until Monday. Not sure yet. I hate feeling lazy, but I do feel rather lazy and worn out. I think I'd be more motivated if I was capable of doing more than upper body or yoga.

Deb, I have been wearing a tight thingey around my ankle (not sure of the technical term--not quite a brace, not quite a wrap--just a constrictive thing you pull on. I'm also trying to keep it elevated when I'm actually sitting. Trouble is finding time to sit. I'm not so good at the resting it part. I did manage to resist the temptation to go flouncing around Target today, at least.

Robin, glad you're finishing your antiviral meds. Hope you are back to 100% soon!

Shelley, good job getting that morning workout done. I like Coremax #2 also--I love using my stability ball for workouts (or my bosu). It seems more comfy on the back when doing core work, especially.

Jennifer, yikes, good luck with that nasty weather. It's just a blah cloudy day here--think it will rain at some point.

Shannon, I thought of you this morning when I heard more about the nasty weather on the radio. So glad everything is o.k. with you.

Leanne, I totally forgot to ask about the priest's wedding when I had coffee with Mother Emily. I'm terribly bad at gossip. We had a really nice chat, though.

Emily, I don't even run races, and I have trouble taking it easy. Actually, I don't have trouble if I avoid working out altogether, but if I actually do exercise then I tend to overdo it. So, point is, I can see how trying to take it easy while in a race would be tough.

Tneah, so glad you are finishing that killer program. I think you need some rest now!

Hello to all who follow. Must go do some exciting laundry!

Hello Melters.

Thank GOD, we made it through another Friday.

Tneah-Yes, the boys would love to come and help you out. After they get done hunting, they like to sleep in the warm hot sun inside.

Leanne-I love LM, it was one of my first from Cathe. HCE should be interesting.

Shelley-Great job at getting up so early to workout.

Shannon- Nasty weather your way? We need 70 degrees.

Ok BBL for more.

Hey all...

How's everyone's Friday going?:) So, I checked in with Mr. Trainer man for the last time this am. He was thrilled with my results and said the thyroid meds I am taking will really help with my metabolism (speeds it up I guess) and I should really start feeling better. Yeah!:) I asked where do I go from here, and he replied I have three options, 1. go back to where I came from-no way I am doing that 2. Continue with my program minus the nighttime cardio sessions, and continue to build lean mass and maybe drop a little more bodyfat, 3. Start getting ready for a physique contest! He told me I really do have a fantastic body and should consider competing again in the "Masters" amateur contests locally, but only if its in my heart to do so. How tempting, but not right now!
I told him I really needed a break from the hard training and he told me to take it and eat whatever I wanted, I am at the place where my body should use any junk I eat (in moderation) and burn right through it.:7 heehee, I am feeling pretty darn good about myself today, I really accomplished more than I set out to do and will continue following the program (minus the nighttime cardio) and add one cheat day into the mix to keep myself sane. It will be like I worked out before but I will still be eating cleaner and training with more focus. So I am finishing up my workout week tomorrow and then will take some days off next week. I told him I would be in touch in a few months after I let these meds start working and get some much needed rest. Oh, and I am tossing the scale.

Lainie bug, how are you feeling now? Still tired? Your ankle sounds lovely...take it easy.

Jen, we have fabulous sunshine here for your darling kitties!

Okay, might check back later, but had to share with you all. And thank each and every one of you for your support through this program, you have no idea how wonderful it was knowing you all cared.:)
