BWAHAHAHAHA!! I LOVE the pic of your DH!! Those kitties are so cute! I LOVE THEM! And I especially love Pearl the wonder chicken. too cute.
Oh, and Fit44--that's not her husband. LOL. That's a shot of Christian Bale from the movie "American Psycho". One of my faves! Oh, how I wish he was MY husband!!!
Sorry to hijack your thread, Sparrow, but I've seen AP tons of times and it still confuses me to this day! Can you help? Was it all just his mind and fantasies that he made up?
The part I can't seem to figure out is the end when he goes back to his friend's apt. that he killed earlier and it's empty and being rented out. The lady who approaches him (who I assume is the realtor) tells him to get out and never come back--she totally freaks me out! Does anyone have some insight into this movie and/or that particular scene? I guess I'm not smart enough and deep enough to understand it....
A black kitty! I love black kitties! (I have one now, and used to have others)
A tortie! I love torties! (My Bobsie--see my photo album!--and my dearly-departed Mandy both had/have a similar color combo. Does Comet have a peach-colored underbelly? Bobsie does!)
I also love Pearl's luxury condo. (And she's much prettier than I imagined: I was thinking plain-old white chicken, though I'm sure they're nice, too. Is she any particular kind of chicken?)
By the way, how did you come to adopt a chicken? Not a critter most people would think of as a companion. Does she get lonely for the company of other chickens, do you think?
Well I actually looked it up on Wiki after I saw it and apparently the prevailing theory is that the movie is attempting to make either of these points:
- that he was an empty, shallow product of the 1980s and so was so emotionally dead that he lived inside his own head, creating these violent fantasies, but not actually *doing* them.
- that he really did these things but his friends were so self-absorbed that even when tried to confess they couldn't hear what he was saying, such as when the woman asks him what he does for a living and he says "Murders and executions" and she hears it as "Mergers and acquisitions."
Personally I think it's the former. And as I said, I looked it up, cause I too couldn't quite determine what was going on!!
