Hello just doing my research before i buy one. Also trying to loose some pounds, nothing pricey like shakeology. Thanks. I read that ideal shape is doing good, any input in this
I saw that a fitness model who was featured in Oxgen magazine this year takes Isagenix shakes. I haven't used it myself but feel free to view the website & the ingredients to see if its something you'd like to try. One thing I will say though re meal replacements every body is different & it becomes a trial & error process until you find the exact one that will work for your body.
Hi - I am doing the Isagenix program and have done it several times since 2008. Although I am feeling a bit ambivalent about it these days (because the shakes are a processed food and I believe I should be sticking more to unprocessed foods) I've had great results from the program. The first time I did the 30-day program (twice, back to back) I lost 21 lbs. I go back to it regularly to get rid of the 5-7 lbs that pile up when I get lazy. I think the shakes are delicious - the best I've ever tasted (and believe me, I've tried a lot of products) - and they definitely balance my brain chemistry so that I lose my cravings for sweets, salty stuff and junk food. The products also support my workouts & help me keep my energy up, and I am able to keep my muscle while losing fat. Depending on the flavor and whether it is a vegan or non-vegan formula, the shakes have around 22-24 grams of protein per serving.
To give you an idea of the cost: If you sign up as an "associate" and just want shakes, you can get 14 servings' worth of shakes (1 canister) for the wholesale cost of $39.95 US. If you want to do one of their programs - the one I'm doing is called the 30-Day Cleanse and comes with additional products - the wholesale cost for the full 30 days of products is $269.00 (this balances out a little bit because you don't need to purchase as much "regular food" that month). If you find someone to purchase from at retail price, they will charge you the above cost plus whatever they determine they want for their profit.
It is a multi-level marketing company so I don't think you can just order from the website. If you want more info feel free to PM me. (BTW I am a user, but not a distributor. )
Nutrisystem also has some great protein shakes: they taste amazing, are only 110 calories, 15 grams of protein, and pretty reasonable in price. Flavors are strawberry, chocolate, vanilla, and coffee.
I kind of make my own with coconut milk (unsweetened) dutch coco and organic chocolate syrup. It has the benefits of coconut and none of the guilt. The coconut prevents hunger pangs but isn't so heavy that it weighs you down.
RapidBreath, thanks for posting your recipe for this. I have not really turned to shakes for meal replacement or anything, but I can see your shake being a great way to stave off cravings for something sweet. I'll file this away for future cravings.
