ME clean and press

Hi Cathe!

Could you tell me how the clean and press in ME is supposed to work the back/hamstrings? It seems as if it's supposed to work the shoulders. Maybe I'm doing it wrong. Are you supposed to do the bounce in the legs as you bring the bar up over your head?

Thanks!

The "deadlift" part of this move works the lower back and hamstrings (when you go from the bent over position to a straight position). You might feel this more if you concentrate on keeping your upper body in the same position and pushing your butt back a bit as you lower, then keeping the chest lifted and raising through the chest and upper back as you bring the glutes in.

Adding a bounce in the legs might help hoist a weight that is otherwise a bit heavy for the shoulders, but it won't add any emphasis to the back and hamstrings, other than perhaps some risky torque to the lower back.
