McDonalds to Print Nutrition Facts on Packages

Print away.....but it won't improve the nutritional value, read "lack of", of their offerings. Still, at least they are finally moving in the direction of honesty.

Fortunately a lot of the fast food restaurants have the nutritional values on their websites. It sure helps when you are trying to count calories and need to figure out what you can get fast food wise in a pinch. I know it doesnt help when you are at the restaurant - but if you look up some of your potential places before hand - you can get a real good feel for what is decent or not.

i never checked burger king or wendy's but i know the pullout flyer of facts that mcdonalds has is hard to read. just to much info almost makes my eyes cross LOL. i think it would be easier to read this way. and this way when i want someting i could ask to see the wrapper and pass if its to much fat or something like that. but when you are planning to eat out using their websites is a better choice. but its just not our situation really. we are kind of spontaneous like that b/c we never know how long appointments will last, which is when we out often.

I gotta have my nasty, fattening crap from McD's once in a blue moon. :9 }( :9 I just can't go there and order something from thier "healthy menu". :p I know how awful the food is for me already and I don't eat there often at all so the nutrition info won't change anything for me personally but I still think it's good that they are going to do this.:)

The most interesting thing for me would be the amount of trans fat...http://www.planetsmilies.com/smilies/scared/scared0008.gif[/img]...Carole

Hey Marla...you never told me how the chipotle recipes turned out...http://bestsmileys.com/anxious/4.gif[/img]..Carole

Oh gosh Carole, that's the kind of information that could push a body over the edge ;(. Personally, I can't stand fast food but every now and again, like Wendy, I like to get a little something, usually a small order of fries and an icy cold coke:9 . I'm so used to doing my own cooking that I just can't stomach all that fat and grease. When I order a coke I ask for a glass of ice with coke on it. (If you have one at the very start of a migraine, an icy cold coke will nip it in the bud;)).

When you think about it though, do people really need nutritional info for fast food? Isn't that a bit of an oxymoron? It's all crap:eek: . I view fast food dining as something you do in an emergency when you must eat and for some reason you have no other option at that precise moment in time. ;( .

I'm not ready to go the vegan route (although I do enjoy several vegetarian meals over the course of any given month) but I do like fresh food prepared at home.

Carole--How big of an adjustment was it when you switched to a vegan lifestyle? I think it would be so hard.

The first 2 weeks was vegetarian....my DH made the choice to Vegan. I have to say...I have eaten things I never would have thought about before. I LOVE vegan....I also love Tofu....never in my life would I have thought that possible, but due to the books I have read it seems the only healthly option...:)..Carole

My husband loves tofu. I've tried to like it but I just can't get it down my pipes. I'm always interested in how people come to their decisions about diet/lifestyle. It is something I think about alot. I have to say, you look AMAZING! So you must be doing something right;)
