Cathlete
I, for one, will NOT be watching what I eat today! If I have to cook it, I am damn well going to eat it!!

How about you?

Have a good one ladies -- clean or not!!

Busy day planned in this house, as you can imagine! IMAX2, then setting and decorating the table, shower, then the cooking begins!

When my guests arrive, I will have warm cider and cheese ball/cracker and sausage balls to snack on. No sausage balls for me -- I'm forever scarred from the scrapple incident:confused:

Dinner will be at 2 pm... My 18 pound bird, cooked to perfection by my DH in the back yard (deep fryer), mashed potatoes, green bean casserole, sweet potato casserole, broccoli casserole, mac & cheese, lima beans, corn, roasted carrots, cranberry sauce (from fresh cranberries, no canned stuff!), deviled eggs, and biscuits. Dessert will be pumpkin pie, chocolate fudge pie, and carrot cake!:p

I lovelovelove cooking and baking and entertaining!!

I know my day will be wonderful and I hope yours is too!

good morning katie, and all who follow - happy thanksgiving!

katie, your menu is amazing - enjoy every bit!

i will not be cooking or cleaning:) dh is away, and my oldest, finn, almost 2.5, does not really care, so we plan to go to a friend's house this am to play. eating may or may not happen, depending on naps. my baby, aidan, is easy and portable:)

this morning i did 52 min on my neighbors elliptical!!! it is an octane q35 and felt wonderful, despite my silly boot. this is my first non-swim cardio since nov 1st, and i loved sweating at 5am (my neighbors are away and wanted me to use thier machine with the hope i buy it) now i am super motivateed to be clean today minus 1 piece of apple or pumpkin pie. i will do me upper at nap time.

have a great day everyone

Good morning!

Katie, Yu're a ball of energy this morning! Have a GREAT day!

Morris, Who was with the boys while you were ellipticalling? And I love ME! That WO is so much fun!

We're going to my dad's today and I am NOT looking forward to it. I cannot STAND his wife. She is MEAN. She never acknowledged I was pg with Julia, hasn't called or come over to see her (they're an hour away). I called my dad y'day and she answered. She said "Oh, do you want your dad? I'll get him." and passed the phone to him! No ""oh, you had a baby last month! Maybe I should say congrats!" ugh! hate her!

okay, rant over. I shouldn't be so mean and say I hate her, but jeez, she's.... oops, I said rant over.

Not planning on going food crazy today. WitchFace is a terrible cook anyway! I'm taking cold cut-up veggies even tho I'll be the only one who eats them.

NOt sure if I'll get to WO. If I do it'll be cardio.

gotta get b'fast on - bbl...

Happy Thanksgiving

:D Deep Fried Turkey love love love it!
What a spread Katie you put-your-foot in it.:D Throw some turkey drumsticks in the oil for me...I'll be there by 3. ;)
Enjoy your family and friends.

Morris just go ahead and buy the machine.

Now y-day I asked my cousin Irene is there anything that you forgot, do you need me to run to the store. She thinks and said no I got everything. We will see. Y-day we started making the pies and cakes. The house smelled so wonderful. We also did the veggies (sweetpotatoe, greens, green beans). Today will be the meats and mac-n-cheese.

So YES I must w/o and do some cardio today (Body Max and core).

Now remember do not wear any tight fitting pants.

HAPPY THANKSGIVING!!

No workout for me today. It's my rest day:) We will be going out for a walk after dinner with the girls to a park near my grandma's.

We are getting ready to go to Whole Foods to pick up our food-harvest salad, roast turkey, mushroom and herb stuffing, green beans w/pearl onions, mashed potatoes and gravy, roasted cinnamon dusted butternut squash, fresh cranberry sauce, rolls. And I know my grandma will have made something Yugoslavian to add to our feast:) My Uncle Tony makes the pies (he owns the bakery) so we're having pumpkin pie, apple pie, coconut creme pie:) I can't wait! THis is my favorite holiday-food and family-the best!

I hope everyone has a fantastic day with their friends and family.

Katie, your meal sounds fab-great job!

Morris, way to go on the elliptical! Enjoy your quiet day with the boys.

Kate, you're the bigger person. Just keep reminding yourself-Karma:) And it'll be my turn at Christmas to vent so don't worry;) And plus you have the best thing to be thankful for-your girlies:)

Robin, have a great workout! Great job on your meal!

Hi To Angie, Anne, and Colleen!!

kate, i am thinking of you with the witch. try to focus on your own family unit, that is what i do. and this am, i was able to just bring my monitor to my neighbor's - it worked great!

klaudia, your dinner sounds great too, especially the pies.

robin, i so want this elliptical. i will ask them when they get home sunday. i have a budget and do not want to offend them, but i also know they totally want to get rid of it.

i will nurse the baby in a few minutes then head out, armed with homemade baileys (my mil made it) and rum cake (again, she made it), neither of which appeal to me:)

Hey ladies, hope everyone had a great day! Kate, good on you for being the bigger person!

My meal was a success! Everyone loved everything, and the table was beautiful!! A few minutes of relaxing, then time to put up the tree! I'll post some pics tomorrow.

katie, glad the day is going so well!

Morris, Here's our pb cookie recipe. It is NOT GREASY at all - very peanutty tasting and oh-so-good!

2.5 c flour
1/2 t. each: baking powder and baking soda
1 t. salt
2 sticks unsalted butter, softened but still cool
1 c. packed lt. brown sugar
1 c. sugar
1 c. extra crunchy pb (Jif is best!)
2 eggs
2 t. vanilla
1 c. salted dry-roasted peanuts, ground in a food processor to resemble bread crumbs, about 14 pulses

Heat oven to 350*. Line baking sheets w/ parchment or spray w/ nonstick spray

Whisk flour, baking soda & powder, salt in medium bowl. Set aside.

W/ electric mixer beat butter until creamy.
Add sugars, beat until until fluffy, about 3 minutes
Add eggs one at a time, then vanilla

Gently stir flour mixture into pb mixture
Add ground peanuts and gently stir until just incorporated
***you can add 1.5 c. chocolate chips with the ground peanuts if desired

Roll dough into 2" balls
Place balls on baking sheets 2.5" apart
Press each dough ball 2x with dinner fork dipped in cold water to make a crisscross design

Bake until cookies are puffed and slightly browned across the edges but not on top, 10-12 minutes.
Cool cookies on baking sheets until set, about 4 minutes
Transfer to wire rack with wide metal spatula to cool completely

--------------
Hope you like em! The step to process the peanuts is so worth it!!! I have a mini food processor so that step is easy here.
