On the rotation today is Pyramid Upper Body...I like the pyramid workouts. Tomorrow I do lower body...

Ok, gotta get the kids up soon to get ready to head to the orthodontist!!

Be back later..

Hey Girls!

From last night:

Hottie: Sorry you're in a funk. I hate funks. I'm very sure the scale is up at least partially BECAUSE of TOM. It adds water weight, remember??? ... So I think you may have created a monster out of me. I had an omelette this morning with avocado and tomato again. That combination with sharp cheddar cheese is so freakin good!!!! Thanks, again!

Beth: Oh no. Read your post late last night. Said some prayers for you and your mom with the boys. I hope somehow it's not so bad today? I'm so soo sooo sorry and sad you're going through this with your mom :(. I get a serious pit in my stomach thinking about if/when my mom gets sick. ... For some reason I was able to take the drums yesterday. In fact, they had about 4 friends over, one with an electric guitar!! Banging away on those drums. I do know, Mondays WILL be off limits! (I'm such a grump on mondays)

And today!

Kathy: What's Lauren having done at the ortho today? Zach goes on Thursday for spacers. Did she have that yet? How did it go? I'm wondering how he's going to feel afterwards, and if there are eating limitations with the spacers. .... LOVE the Pyramids too!

On schedule for me today is Step Blast. I think I may do SOME of it and then head to the park for a run for part deux!

Gotta get out to the bus...Alex has a contaiiner of brownies for the teachers, and he's SKATEBOARDING with them in hand!

Good morning! I must be running late if Chris beat me to the post. :D

Skateboarding with the brownies?! Hope you rescued them!

I love Pyramid, too..... in fact, as I was putting away 4DS (because I used the stretch) today, I saw Pyramids there and though --- oh, I should do that. :)

Kathy, will you do some walking while the kids are in PE? Seems like that's what you did last year when the weather was nice.

I did the first tonique this morning, but I started out with kettlebell swings in place of the drills. I thought I'd do another round of it in between things, but it was 150 swings and that was enough for me! I did the lunges first, Joanne, just to see how different that felt, and then the squats, and I skipped mat because I slept in a little. I'm not sure it was good to do the lunges first. I feel like I tweaked my knee and in the end I turned the squats off early. Oh well! Still a mighty fine workout.

Thanks again for your good thoughts. We don't know much for sure yet, but it's looking like we're in for a hard road that doesn't end well.

Some good news came yesterday -- I have to try to be happy about that. One of the boys who takes lessons from the piano teacher has a dad who's in a band up here -- they play some small bars and every year they auction off a gig and someone throws a big party and they play there. You may remember me telling you about that party last year -- it was a summer kick off party and we had a great time. Anyway, that dad senbt me mail asking if Travis would like to play a song with him at the party this year. Travis played "Clocks" at the recital and it was a crowd pleaser. So, I guess we need to get geared up for that on June 12. I don't know if he'll actually play "Clocks" or learn something new. We'll see.

Oh, I'm on Larry's laptop and I hear him coming.... bbl. Waves to Hottie & Joanne!

Hi ladies..

Back from the orthodontist....Getting ready to head downstairs for PUB!!

Chris: Lauren has braces on now..She got them about 2 months ago maybe 6 weeks ago..She had a couple of brackets fall off. So, they put them back and she had some appliance put on her upper mouth to help with her overbite. Everytime she goes her teeth are sore and they tell her to eat soft foods. I am sure they will tell you that when Zach goes to his appt...Step Blast!! Yeah, I love that one. I am doing it on Friday..Hope you saved the brownies!!

Beth: Yes, I love to walk or run while they are in PE class. But, I have gotten into the habit of getting my grocery shopping done while they are there and that is what I need to do today. It is faster and easier to go by myself!! Great news about Travis and his playing. Sending hugs on the bad stuff. Hope it all works out. I will say some prayers for you and hope it all is well...

Ok, we hit Walmart on the way home so Lauren could use her birthday gift card and return a ds kit with a case and stuff that my sister got her(it was for a dsi and she has a ds lite)..Anyway, she ended up with a DS case and a Jonas Ds game.....

Now time to change and get PUB done...

Be back later..

Oh, Beth, I'm so, so sorry to hear of the news about your mom. So hard. I'm praying for a her and your family. Sending lots of cyberhugs your way. (())

Beth, I was wondering about doing the lunges first in Tonique. Thanks for experimenting! ;) I'll probably do it as is next time. Great news about Travis! Sounds very fun. One mom from Jameson's class is organizing a party at a VFW hall after graduation, which is on a Wed. night. Some of the 8th graders put a band together and are going to be playing there, which should be cool.

Chris, I think Jameson had spacers, but I can't remember exactly what they are like. It all blurs together! But, Jameson or Ian have never been sore for more than a day or two with any of the ortho stuff they've had done. As far as eating, the only restriction is no sticky stuff like gummy candy, taffy, etc. Wow, brownies and skateboarding!! I hope for the teachers' sake they both get there safely! I'm sure the drums are annoying ;), but that actually sounds like fun! The band in your house!! I guess it might get worse in the summer when they have more free time, though!

OK, tell me how you make the avocado with the eggs. When do you put it in?? I never really eat avocado except in guacomole. Well, yesterday I had a sandwich from a new mexican restaurant here by work and it had avocado in it. Oh my, it was sooo good!! Now I want to try more stuff with avocado! And, you're all making those eggs sound good!

Kathy, enjoy PUB! Ian had some appliance to help with his overbite, too. He had to wear it at night. Now he needs braces on the top again, just to straighten things out a bit. If he hadn't lost his retainer four different times, we probably wouldn't have to do this. ugh!

Hottie, hopefully your funk will ease as TOM goes away! Hang in there!

Today's workout was BBL Bum Bum and Tummy Tuck. Tomorrow I need to get back to running for cardio.

Must go...have a good day!

Joanne

Hey again...

I ended up doing the SB premix of Combos #1 and #2 and then the challenge. Holy COW, i was dripping at the end of that challenge! I took a little break, and then went to the park for a run. It was so nice to be outside. It's about 74 and sunny with a light breeze! I ran for 40 minutes (including warm up and stretch) , but it was hard at the end for me. The stretch was THE best. A gorgeous breeze was blowing that cooled me right down!!

I went (again) to the grocery store. Damn boys (including Greg) were jealous of the scones i made yesterday for the teachers. So I had to get more stuff to make more today. And it wasn't like I didn't make them anything! I made them their OWN pan of brownies. Geesh! ... Oh, and the teachers brownies made it past the skateboarding. I could not believe he was doing that! .. Hopefully they made it to school ok.

Beth: I have no idea what you're talking about for tonique, but good job on a tough workout today!! Nice you got some KB in too! That is awesome that travis was invited to play with the band! I ADORE that song "Clocks" , LOVE it!!!.... I keep thinking how stressed you must be feeling. Are you planning a trip to see your mom?

Kathy: Oh ok. Zach was all freaking out because he wouldn't get to eat goodies on Friday (my birthday, where goodies are going to be abundent! ;)). But I'm sure italian birthday cake is soft enough, huh? .. Though frankly, I don't really want to share :p. . Is it bad that I'm going to indulge? Hey, you only get a birthday once a year (but I'm thinking I indulge more than once a year). ..... I agree, grocery shopping is MUCH MUCH easier without kiddos, and cheaper too! (I always give in to their whims).

Joanne:
It was kind of funny, one of Alex's friends came over yesterday after school. His mom drove him over, so she came in. I had brownies baking, scones cooling out on the counter, the kids banging on the drums and running around! The boys mom looked very taken aback, like i was nuts! Really, it's not usually THAT frantic here! OH and then she gets a look at Kiwi (lion cut). she was like, "You had your cat shaved like that?". I'm surprised she's letting her son come back today. ..... Oh! I'm getting excited to do Bum Bum!!! Which BBL workout should I do first??

Not sure how Hottie does her eggs. I used egg beaters. And made an omelet of sorts , and then when it was set, I put in chopped up avocado, the cheese and the tomato, and flipped it. Actually, both times it didnt' flip so nice and kind of came out 'scrambled'. But i let it cook until the cheese melted. Oh so good! I do love Avocado! I've put it in my salads too.

I think I need a snack! I'm hungry!

Joanne, if you do tonique with lunges first, let me know if you think it's harder that way. I know for some people they think it's easier that way, so maybe it was just me this morning.

Kathy, I totally understand about the grocery store (and any other errand!) being easier without the kids! That's got to be one of the tough challenges of home schooling! Getting all that other "life" stuff done.

We're taking the trip planning stuff a day at a time. Oh, Joanne, you asked about where she lives..... she's in southern California, though quite a bit north of Hottie. It's about a six hour drive to her, one hour flight that becomes about six hours when you consider airport travel time and security lines. :) I may pop down there this weekend, but it sounds like she's going to be in the hospital for a little while.

Cinco de Mayo! One of my best friends absolutely loves this holiday and wishes she had been born on this day, so I always think of her and even sometimes send her birthday cards for it. I sometimes really have to think about whether or not her birthday really is today. So anyway, I met her for lunch.... at a mexican place, of course!! No margaritas for us though -- it was too early in the day. It was right next door to the apple store and I went in and played with an ipad. I'm thinking I may get one..... I don't know. If we are going to be doing long car trips this summer, it'd be nice for the kids for movies. How's that for rationalizing?!
