I feel like I have so much to tell you guys! Kathy, it's good you took Chris to the dr. -- it's hard when there's not much to be done about it, but always reassuring to know you haven't overlooked something. I hope he feels better soon!
Chris, I freaked when I read your question about the transfusion. I had completely forgotten that I'd mentioned the blood count, and I thought how the heck do you know that?! Because, indeed, I just heard, they'll be giving her a transfusion either tonight or in the morning. I guess the dr. is being just terrific, teaching my niece how to set up a notebook with all of the info and etc. My mom is definitely sounding much better on the phone -- her voice is stronger and she's making more sense (some of the lack of sense was probably due to the pain meds).
On the wife issue..... long ago when I had a pretty intense job and was in a relationship but not married, I was pretty well known for having a philosophy that everyone should have a housewife. I felt like I couldn't keep up with things then! Sheesh, it only gets crazier and worse (sorry to say, Hottie). Maybe Joanne's hubby likes the swedish girls....
Larry's always making wisecracks about getting a "nanny".
I don't know what I'm doing for workouts, Chris! In fact, when the boys were in piano lessons I sat there thinking about it. I so loved doing meso 1 the way I did last time and that rotation I did -- two days on, one day stretch, and combining lower body as my cardio. I loved it! I could do meso 2 that way, I guess, but I'm really into those bodyrock/zuzana workouts right now. I cannot believe how much I want to do them! But, I can't figure out a rotation that works well and lets me have fun with some dvds, too. I'll keep working on it and figure out something. I just want to find a nice flow like I had.
Cannot believe how you were in HS, Chris! Yikes! The meeting I was at yesterday had an hour on that project cornerstone thing I told you guys about a month or so ago. Talking about what we need to give/provide to kids in order to help them avoid those "high risk" behaviors. It was so interesting! I'm having a hard time remembering the details because she had so many statistics, but one interesting thing was that they took some high school students that had straight F's and told them they were going to be reading tutors for first graders. These high schoolers were really the bad sort -- been arrested, etc. The first graders were reading below grade level. Well, the HSers said they couldn't be tutors, but were told "you must", so they did. Guess what? It was a huge success! The high schoolers grades went up, and the first graders learned to read on grade level. I asked if the first grade parents knew the history of the HS kids and she said no, not even the first grade teachers were told. They also found that if middle/high schoolers do just one hour of some sort of community service per week their risk of getting into high risk behaviors goes way down. And all the things they want you to do are just common sense things that don't cost money (I think she said all but two don't cost money). If you're at all interested in more details, the interesting websites are:

The first one is the organization in our county that implements the program. The second link is the research institute that did all the surveys for decades to figure out this stuff.
I gotta' pay attention to my kids and dinner..... I know it's late for some of you -- hope you see this! Do you think we ought to go to a weekly thread instead of daily?
