Ok, would you say any AB workouts mostly for the lower ABS are good as long as you add weights.... right now I am working them at least 3 times a week, with weights but I have to use low weight right now, I can use my 10lb medicine ball for reverse crunches but I can't use it for the rockets on coremax, its too heavy for me for that right now... I try to do more lower than upper although I do both when I work them....
Just curious, I wished I had AB ripper PX90 but I am not spending that kind of money to get the AB ripper I will stick with the hard AB exercises I already know:7 ... they have pretty good AB exercises in the fitness mags that I get....
Did you have to work up the weight you used doing your AB exercises?

Hi Rhonda--yes, I started with a 25 lb plate for the crunches & about 50 lbs on the cable crunches. Eventually I worked my way up to 45 lbs & 100 lbs respectively. Also there was this really good ab exercise I did before I incorporated weights, which was pretty much a basic crunch on a bench w/my feet elevated about 6 inches. For some reason doing it on a bench was much more effective--I think it was b/c I really had to use the abs & obliques to stabilize so I wouldn't fall off LOL.

I just got Core Max & haven't tried it yet. I have a 20 lb med ball but I have a suspicion I might want to start w/10 lbs, so I ordered one & am waiting for it to arrive. I do Cathe's ab hits once a week w/the 20 lbs & the truth is it's a struggle for me. But I get serious soreness from it & have really enjoyed that feeling since it's so rare anymore.

I only work my abs twice a week, always with weights. I would not recommend doing them more than that. I would say any ab workout will benefit w/the addition of weights. Also bear in mind there is no such thing as "lower abs." Abs are really just two muscles that run the lenght of your torso from chest to hips. So any ab exercise you do works the so called lower abs.
