Mats for a treadmill?

Anyone use puzzle mats or other kind of mats under their treadmill? I'm probably going to be buying mats for my weight area from Greatmats.com, but I'm not sure if they will be good enough with my treadmill. I need to keep the noise and vibration from bothering my downstairs neighbors. The customer service guy at Great Mats said it would work, but I was wondering if anyone here has had experience with treadmill mats.

I have mine on a mat. Don't have the box anymore and can't recall the name. I put it down so the treadmill wouldn't ruin the carpet in any way. It shouldn't be too loud. Mine isn't.

Thanks, Heather. Is it a hard mat? soft? rubber?

It is soft, came rolled up in a box and definitely feels like rubber.
