Someone asked for my sugar cookie recipe....here it is.
Beat 3/4 c. butter until fluffy.
Still beating, Add 1 c. sugar
Still beating, Add 2 eggs.
STILL beating add 1 t. vanilla.
You can stop beating now!
Add 2.5 c. flour, 1 t. baking soda, and 1 t. salt - Mix well on a low speed, being careful not to overmix.
Chill for an hour or 2 before you roll them out on a floured surface.
Here's our frosting recipe:
3 sticks butter
3. conf. sugar
2 T. milk
2 t. vanilla
Beat butter until fluffy (30 sec)
With mixer on low speed, add sugar, 1 c. at a time. Increase to high speed and mix until fluffy, about 1 minute. Reduce speed to med-low and add milk & vanilla. Increase speed to high for about 30 sec.
****This frosting because its made with butter has a yellow-tinge to it so if you want white frosting, use THIS recipe:
Mix 2/3 c. white Crisco with 1t. vanilla extract. Add 1/4 c. milk and 1 lb. conf sugar. Mix all well.
THis white forsting, if memory serves, is extra-thick. Seems like I always need to add more milk......
Let me know if you have any questions.
OH! I almost forgot. A lot of times I sub in almond extract for the vanilla. YUMM!!!!
